Objective:Establishing a simple useful method of the ultraviolet spectrophotometric to determine the arteannuin element content,providing the fast basis for screening and shopping high quality arteannuin.Method:Carrying on the wave length scanning with the ultraviolet spectrophotometer to arteannuin element standard solution, establishing the standard curve, according to standard curve determination sample content. Results:Arteannuin element most suitable absorption wave length is 290 nm, and the extinction-density regression equation is:Y=0.043X+0.006. The different arteannuin element sample content has the difference.Conclusion:The method of ultraviolet spectrophotometric determining arteannuin element content operation is quickly,simple and accurate.

OBJECTIVE:To survey the status quo of ADR occurred in our hospital.METHODS:654 ADR reports were collected from our hospital during 2003～2009 and analyzed statistically.RESULTS:Of total 654 ADR cases,the ratio of male to female was 1∶1.67.20.34%of ADR occurred to people aged from 41 to 50.452 ADR cases were induced by intravenous administration accounting for 69.11%and 177 ADR cases were induced by oral administration,accounting for 27.06%.342 ADR cases were caused by antibiotics(52.29%),among which 127 cases by cephalosporins(37.13%),91 cases by quinolones(26.61%)and 54 cases by macrocyclic lactone(15.79%);92 cases were caused by cardiovascular system drugs(14.07%).Main clinical manifestations were lesion of skin and its appendants(25.54%)and digestive system injury(22.48%).CONCLUSION:Great importance should be attached to ADR monitoring,rational use of antibiotics and close monitoring of TCM injection.

Objective To establish and analyze the morphological parameters of the oocysts of Cryptosporidium muris for defining their morphological change. Methods Oocysts were collected from KM mice(immunodepressed by dexamethasone for 10 days) and examined with modified acid-fast staining. Images of 1 190 oocysts were acquired by photograph system. The length, width, perimeter, area and equivalent diameter of the oocysts were obtained by computer digital image processing system and analyzed by SPSS software (Version 11.0). Result The average length of the oocysts was 5.93 ?m, ranging from 3.36 ?m to 8.51 ?m in 95% confidence interval of them. The average width was 4.96 ?m, ranging from 3.26 ?m to 6.66 ?m in 95% confidence interval of them. The average perimeter was 18.03 ?m and the average area was 16.08 ?m2. Conclusion Data obtained from the computer system are objective and precise, offering scientific foundation for measuring the oocysts and for identifying Cryptosporidium spp.[

A screening of thyroid function was performed in 2 320 pregnant women whose gestational age was less than 12 weeks.The incidence of subclinical thyroid disease and its relationship with gestational diabetes mellitus were analyzed.The results showed that there were 8 patients (0.34％) with clinical hypothyroidism,226 (9.74％) with subclinical hypothyroidism,and 14 patients (0.6％) with hyperthyroidism among 2 320 pregnant women.The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus in pregnant women with subclinical hypothyroidism was apparently higher than that in normal pregnant women (33.3％ vs 12.9％,P＜0.05),suggesting that the increased incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus seems to be related to subclinical hypothyroidism during early pregnancy.Therefore,it is important to screen the function of thyroid during early pregnancy

Objective To investigate the relationship of hypothyroxinemia to gestational diabetes mellitus during early pregnancy. Methods A total of 11 365 cases of women with early singleton pregnancies were collected from Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children. The screening of thyroid function was performed. The postload glucose concentrations and the risks of gestational diabetes mellitus in hypothyroxinemia were investigated. The relationship of thyroid hormones to postload glucose concentration was evaluated. The association between thyroid peroxidase antibodies(TPOAb) and gestational diabetes mellitus was analyzed. Results Early pregnancy women with hypothyroxinemia had a higher postload glucose concentration. Comparing to normal pregnancy women, the prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus in hypothyroxinemia was higher(42.2%vs18.4%, P<0.05). Free thyroxine(FT4) was significantly negatively correlated with postload glucose concentration. FT4 was associated with gestational diabetes mellitus. The risk of gestational diabetes mellitus was greater when FT4 was lower. The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus in early pregnancy women with TPOAb levels ≥500 IU/ml was significantly higher than that in normal pregnancy women (31.2%vs 18.4%, P<0.05). Conclusion Early pregnancy women with hypothyroxinemia and TPOAb≥500 IU/ml were related to the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus. Lower FT4 was the risk factor of gestational diabetes mellitus.

Objective To study the characteristics of complement expression and the effects of atorvastatin on the complement in rats after the cerebral ischemic infarction.Method One hundred and sixty adult healthy Sprague-Daweley rats were randomly divided into normal group,sham-operated group,ischemia group and treat group.The ischemia group and treatment group were sub-devided into 6 h,12 h,24 h,48 h,3 d,5 d,2week,respectively.The middle cerebral artery occlusion(MACO)model was induced by using filament method,and the thread Was withdraw from the middle cerebral artery after occlusion 2 h.Rats in the sham-operated groupdid not have thread inserted.After wakefulness,the animals The successful of animal model produced was evidenced by the paralysis of contralateral limbs.The animals model in the treatment group treated with Atorvastatins 10 mg once a day for 2 weeks and,rats in the ischemia group did not receive Atorvastatin.The neurological deficit scoring was measured at different intervals in the ischemia and treat ment groups.The expressions of complement C1q and C3 d protein in the brain of the rats in 4 groups were measured by immunohistochemical methods.Result There were a few complement expression in the brain of normal rats,showing no significant difference observed between sham-operated group and normal group(P＜0.05).The complements(C1 q and C3 d)expressied increasubgkt after cerebral ischemia injury,peaked 24 h after ischemia,and returned to normal levels 5 d after ischemia.The expression of complement C1 q and C3 d in the ischemia group were significanfly higher than those in sham-operated group(P＜0.05),The expression of complement C1 q and C3 d in treat ment group were signnificantly lower than those in the ischemia group(P＜0.05).The neurological deficit score in treatment group were signnificantly lower than that of ischemia group.Conclusions The expressions of complement C1 q and C3 d were increase gradually after cerebral ischemia in the rats,Atorvastatin Can inhibit the complement activation,improve neuro logical function of rats.

Objective To know the quality of life-related factors in patients with asthma, and then carry out certain effective counter nursing measures. Methods Investigated 137 patients with severe asthma, to know their nursing requirement and factors which can influence their quality of life, and then counert nursing measures were carried out for patients according to the results of investigation. Compared the quality of life of patients with asthma before and after the research. Results There was a negative correlation between the quality of life for patients with asthma and their smoking habit, sleeping station, disease course and complica-tions respectively, while a positive correlation between the quality of life for patients with asthma and their edu-caiton background, asthma-related knowledge and incomes. The nursing requirement about health education, psychological interview, treatment services were the main requirements. After the nursing intervention, the quali-ty of life for patients with asthma was significant better than before. Conchlsions There were several factors which can influence the quality of life for patients with asthma, analysis,carry out certain strategy and eval-uation a kind of proper mode for adult patients with asthma.

Objective To explore the effect of nicotine on the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in PD rats. Methods Forty-five SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: PBS group (CON), normal saline + LPS ( NS ) group and nicotine +LPS ( NIC ) group. On 24 hours after LPS or PBS injection, inducible nitric oxide synthase ( iNOS ) protein expression was examined by immunoblotting. ON 14d after LPS or PBS injection, the numbers of tyrosine hydroxylase ( TH ) positive neurons and morphological changes of OX-42 positive cells in the substantia nigra(SN) were observed by immunohistochemistry. TH mRNA and TH protein expressions were examined by RT-PCR or immunoblotting. Results Compared with CON group, iNOS protein increased markedly 24 hours after LPS injection in NS group. TH positive neurons, TH mRNA and TH protein in the SN decreased remarkably 14 days after nigrainjiection. Most of microlglial showed big cell body with thicker and shorter processes. However, nicotine reversed the above changes, Compared with NS group, TH positive neurons, TH mRNA and TH protein in the SN increased remarkably in NIC. Besides, most microglia showed small cell body with slim and long processes. Conclusion Nicotine could prevent LPS-induced degeneration of DA neurons, probably because of that the pretreatment with nicotine blocks the activation of microglia and the expression iNOS protein.

Aim To test the strength of Kraekow bilateral locking stitchfor tendon or ligament free end fixation and evaluate the stitch which wasused in reconstruction of cruciate ligament or secure fixation of soft tissue tobone. Methods Twenty-four specimens of patellar tendon free end, whichwere divided into 3 groups according 2 or 3 stitches and 6 subgroups ac-cording No1 Ethilon or 0.4 mm diameter stainless steel wire different suturematerials, fixed with Krackow locking stitch, were undertaken the tensiletest respectively, so as to find out the least stitches and efficient suture pat-tern. Results 2 Krackow locking stitches had more strength than that of0.4 mm diameter stainless steel wire, the fixation strength of 2 stitcheswhich used No1 Ethilon was more than 80 N, superior to the failure strengthof material itself, it still maintained the same strength if the first stitch wasacross the tendon tissuetransversely. There was no significant differencebetween 2 and 3 Krackow locking stitches in suture strength statistically, thefixation strength was superior to the suture material, it could reduce the'suture exposure when the first stitch is across the tendon tissue while main-tains a comparable strength to other suture. Conclusion If attempt to makea higher strength of suture, we should focus on selecting a stronger materialsor adding the suture materials in number rather than the stitch number.

Objective To test the strength of different suture fixation of tendon or ligament end and evaluate appropriate stitches number in cruciate ligament reconstruction. Methods Twenty-four specimens of patellar tendon with free ends, which was, divided into 3 groups according 2 or 3 stitches and 6 subgroups using different suture materials, either with No1 Ethilon or 0.4 mm diameter stainless steel wire, fixed with Krackow locking stitch, the tensile test were undertaken respectively, so as to find out the least stitches and efficient suture pattern. Results Two Krackow locking stitches had more strength than that of 0.4 mm diameter stainless steel wire itself, the fixation strength of 2 stitches which used No1 Ethilon was more than 80 N, superior to the failure strength of material itself, it still maintained the same strength if the first stitch was across the tendon tissue transversely. On the basis of testing results, this modified stitches pattern was used in 17 cases, all could be well withstand an accelerated postoperative ROM rehabilitation program in clinical practice. Conclusion There is no significant difference between 2 and 3 Krackow locking stitches in suture strength statistically, the fixation strength is superior to the suture material, it can lessen the suture exposure when the first stitch is across the tendon tissue while maintains a comparable strength to other suture. If attempt to make a higher strength of suture, one should focus on selecting a stronger materials or adding the suture materials in number, therefore, a rapid early ROM rehabilitation is possible and reliable in practice.
