Objective To investigate the effects of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(PDTC) on aquaporin-9(AQP9) expression and brain edema around the hematoma in experimental intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).Methods 128 SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: normal group,control group,ICH group and PDTC group.According to Rosenberg's methods,the models of experimental ICH were established.The rats in PDTC group were received PDTC intraperitoneally 2 h later.The brain weight column(BWC) at different time point was calculated by gray-wet method,and the expression of AQP9 was examined by immunohistochemistry.Results The BWC and expression of AQP9 in hematoma side of ICH begin to increase 4 h after ICH,peaked at 72 h,and decreased 120 h later.The BWC in opposite side of hematoma also increased 4 h after ICH and peaked at 72 h.Compared with control group,the BWC and expression of AQP9 in ICH group were higher,especially in hematoma side of brain(all(P

Babesia parasites are obligate intracellular apicomplexan protozoa and important pathogens causing babesiosis of humans and animals. They have conserved subcellular structures and invasion mechanism. Rhoptry⁃associated proteins，which are released into the host cell，are considered to be the key molecules of invasion and replication of parasites in the host cell and are immunosuppressive factors of the host cell mediated immunity in the stage of parasitophorous vacuole（PV）formation. The knowledge about rhoptry⁃associated proteins has made a great progress with the development of genomics and proteomics，so we review the research progress in rhoptry⁃associated proteins of different Babesia including Babesia bovis，B. ovine，B. gibsoni，B. bigemina and B. orientalis，etc.

Objective BOLD-fMRI was used to observe the activated auditory cortex evoked by pure tone stimuli in patients with sensorineural hearing loss and this paper is to discuss the objective measure for patient with sensorineural hearing toss. Methods BOLD-fMRI examinations were taken in 22 patients with unilateral moderate to severe sensorneural hearing loss and 15 control subjects. The volumes and intensities of the two hemispheres of the activated auditory cortex were analyzed quantitatively. Results Significant activation was found in the temporal lobe in control subjects, and significant differences in the volume and intensity were noted between the contralateral and ipsilateral activated auditory cortexes in them (P<0.01), exhibiting clearly eontralateral predominance. When the normal ear of patients with sensorineural hearing loss received signals, there was no significant difference be-tween contralateral and ipsilateral activated auditory cortexes (P>0.05). Conclusion When the normal ear of pa-tients with sensorneural hearing loss was stimulated by pure tone, the contralateral hemisphere predominance disap-peared. This result seems to show the plasticity of auditory cortex of patients with unilateral hearing loss.

Objective To explore the application value of dynamic vascular patterns(DVP) curve and parameter figure in the focal liver lesions by contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS).Methods 83 cases of focal liver lesions diagnosed by pathologically or clinically that had undergone CEUS were analyzed by SonoLiver software.Then DVP parametric images were constructed and the time-intensity curve (TIC) parameters were calculated by TIC and DVP curve.Results Rise time(RT),time to peak(TTP),maximum intensity(IMAX),mean transit (mTT),slope of rise,and the absolute value for slope of half down between malignant and benign lesions groups indicated statistically significant difference (P ＜0.05).94.9％ of type Ⅰ was malignant lesions and 100％ Ⅳ type was benign lesions.The four types of DVP curve(Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ)in malignant and benign lesions were 72.5％,13.7％,13.7％,0 and 6.2％,43.8％,31.2％,18.8％,respectively.The proportion and characteristic of DVP parametric images and DVP curves in malignant and benign lesions groups were consistent.Conclusions DVP curve and parametric images of CEUS can demonstrate the difference of flow perfusion static between lesions area and surrounding liver parenchyma dynamically and directly.These are new qualitative indexes of the differential diagnosis in focal liver lesions.

Objective To evaluate the changes and clinical significance of the serum level of homocysteine (Hcy) in esophageal cancer patients before and after surgery.Methods The serum Hcy concentrations of 168 patients with esophageal cancer and 50 healthy individuals were measured by enzymatic cycling.Results Total Hcy levels were significantly raised in patients group when compared with the levels in control group [(19.6±6.1) μmol/L vs (13.0±2.3) μmol/L,P =0.001].Hcy levels were significantly lower in postoperativepatients groups compared with preoperativegroup [(17.0±8.5),(15.8±6.4),(12.8±5.6) μmol/L vs (20.6±9.1) μmol/L,all P ＜ 0.05].Also,Hcy levels in patients with esophageal cancer were significantly higher than in the tumor length＞ 5cm group and the ＜3 cm,3-5 cm group [(23.6±9.6) μmol/L vs (18.1±6.3),(19.6±6.6) μmol/L,P =0.036,P =0.021].Compared with other T stage groups,significantly higher level of Hcy was found in T4 stage group [(29.5±1.7) μmol/L vs (18.5±6.9),(18.8±8.0),(20.6±8.8) μmol/L,all P ＜ 0.001].There was no significant difference between the mean Hcy concentrations of the node-positive and nodenegative group [(20.2±9.3) μmol/L vs (20.3±7.6) μmol/L,P =0.897].Compared with negative lymphaugial tumor-cells thrombus group,positive group had low Hcy level [(16.7±3.4) μmol/L vs (21.1±8.9) μmol/L,P =0.007].Conclusion These results showed that serum Hcy levels play important roles in the development of esophageal cancer.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of combined examination of homocysteine (Hcy) and CEA for male patients with gastric cardia cancer.Methods Serum concentration of Hcy,CEA,CA199,CA724,CA242 and TPS in 54 male patients with gastric cardia cancer and in 30 healthy men were measured.The diagnostic efficacy was analyzed between the combination of Hcy,CEA and the combination of Hcy,CEA,CA199,CA724,CA242,TPS.Results Total Hcy,CEA levels were significantly increased in patients group compared with control group ((20.3±9.2) μmol/L vs (13.7±3.1) μmol/L,(7.8±3.5) μg/L vs (1.6±1.2) μg/L,P ＜ 0.05).The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of the combination of CEA,CA199,CA724,CA242 and TPS were 73.6 ％,64.5 ％ and 70.2 ％ respectively,while those of the combination of Hcy,CEA were 92.5 ％,64.5 ％ and 82.1％,respectively.There was significant difference between the combination of Hcy,CEA and the combination of CEA,CA199,CA724,CA242 and TPS (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Combined detection of Hcy and CEA is helpful for diagnosis in male patients with gastric cardia cancer.

To prepare polyrotaxane-camptothecin conjugates and evaluate its anti-tumor effect, polyrotaxane-camptothecin conjugates were successfully synthesized, and the release behavior was performed; MTT assay and cell morphology were used to examine the inhibition of cells' proliferation effect in vitro. The experimental study of the antitumor effect on S180 mice in vivo was also performed to further evaluate the anti-tumor effect of conjugate. The result showed polyrotaxane-camptothecin conjugates can effectively inhibit the proliferation in a dose dependent effect. In vivo study and cell morphology observation of S180 mice showed significant decrease in growth of tumor, degree of tumor infiltration and blood vessel number. The result indicated anti-tumor mechanism may be through affect the angiogenesis and reduced blood supply to tumor cells and then leading to necrosis.
