Objective To observe clinical effect of treating diabetic nephropathy by syndrome differentiation of TCM. Methods 62 patients with diabetic nephropathy were randomly recurited into a control group and a treatment group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the treatment group was treated by syndrome differentiation of TCM. The clinical effect was observed in both groups after the treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 90.3% and 74.2% respectively, showing the clinical effect in the treatment group being significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The treatment by syndrome differentiation of TCM on diabetic nephropathy is better than routine western medicine.

Objective To observe clinical effect of treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy with Shuxuetong injection combined herbal oral administration. Methods A total of 51 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomly recruited into a control group and a treatment group. The control group was treated with western medicine, and the treatment group was treated with Shuxuetong injection combined with Buyang Huanwu decoction. The clinical effect was observed in both groups after the treatment. Results The total effective rate was 88.5% and 68.0% in the treatment group and the control group respectively. The clinical effect in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion The effects of Shuxuetong injection combined herbal oral administration on diabetic peripheral neuropathy was better than western medicine.

Objective: To study the effect of bilirubin on the functional changes of sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) induced by acute exercise. [WT5FZ]Methods:[WT5BZ] 41 Wistar male rats were divided into five groups, control group, exercise group, exercise recovery group, bilirubin treated exercise group and bilirubin treated exercise recovery group. The rats were administered with 1 ?mol/kg body weight of bilirubin or saline once every day for 4 weeks. After swimming with load for 2 h, all of the rats were killed and several indices were determined. [WT5FZ]Results:[WT5BZ] Bilirubin could inhibit the decrease of Ca 2+ content and the increase of Ca 2+ ,Mg 2+ ATPase activity in SR induced by acute exercise, and inhibit the increase of Mg 2+ content in cytoplasm. [WT5FZ]Conclusion:[WT5BZ] Bilirubin may delay the development of fatigue induced by acute exercise through protecting certain functions of SR.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of nasendoscopic resection of the inner wall of the maxillary sinus for the treatment of inverted papilloma of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.Methods From January 2002 to December 2006,10 patients with nasal inverted papilloma received nasendoscopic resection of the inner wall of the maxillary sinus in our hospital.The clinical data of the patients were anlayzed retrospectively.Results The operation was completed in all the 10 cases.They were follwed up for 12 to 72 months with a mean of 30 months.Only one of the patients had recurrent papilloma in 1 year after the treatment.None of the patients devleoped epiphora.Conclusions Nasendoscopic resection of the inner wall of the maxillary sinus is feasible for patients with nasal inverted papilloma.By using the procedrue,facial scars can be avoided;moreover,owing to a clear surgical field,the surgeons can completely resect the tumor,and the patients have less trauma and low recurrence rate after the treatment.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of depression in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. Additionally,to explore the relationship between depression and microinflammation,serum zinc levels and malnutrition in MHI) patients.Methods One hundred fifty-seven MHD patients were enrolled in this study.The patients were divided into two groups:depressed patients and non-depressed patients,according to the Beck Depression Inventory.The following data were collected:social factors,biochemical index,serum zinc levels,malnutrition-inflammation (MIS) score and IPI score.Binary logistic regression analysis was performed.Results Symptoms of depression were exhibited by 45.2％ of MHD patients (71/157 ).Symptoms of moderate or severe depression were exhibited by 24.2 ％ of the patients ( 38/157 ).However,signicant differences were shown in age [( 62 ± 11 ) vs.( 50 ± 13 ) years old],MIS score [( 7.2 ± 2.2 ) vs.( 3.3 ± 1.6 ) scores],white blood cell count [( 6.4 ± 1.8 ) × 109/L vs.( 5.8 ±1.5) × 109/L],high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) [(9 ±6) vs.(4 ±4) mg/L],hemoglobin [(10.7±1.5) vs.(11.3±1.5) g/L],albumin[(33±4) vs.(37 ±3) g/L],fasting glucose [(6.7±3.5) vs.(5.6±2.1) mmol/L],serum zinc [(8.5±2.6) vs.(10.1 ±2.9) μmol/L] between depressed patients and non-depressed patients ( All P ＜ 0.05 ). Binary logistic regressive analysis revealed that the independent risk factors of depression in MHD patients were their MIS score ( OR =2.908,95％ CI =2.037 -4.151 ),as well as their hsCRP( OR =1.217,95％ CI=1.075 - 1.370),serum zinc and fasting glucose levels(OR=1.315,95％CI=1.039 - 1.664).Conclusions There was a high prevalence of depression in MHD patients.Depression is also highly correlated with microinflammation,serum zinc levels,and malnutrition.MIS scores,hsCRP,serum zinc levels and fasting glucose levels.

ObjectiveTo detect serum soluble B7-H4 (sB7-H4) levels in patients with non-small cell lung cancer ( NSCLC ) and explore its clinical significances.MethodsThe sB7-H4 levels the sera of in 102 NSCLC patients,60 benign lung disease patients and 90 healthy controls were determined by ELISA.The relation between serum sB7-H4 levels and NSCLC of pathological staging was analyzed by use of t test.ResultsThe serum sB7-H4 levels in NSCLC,benign lung disease and heathy control groups were (45.61 ±5.67 ),( 30.14 ± 3.51 ) and ( 28.52 ± 4.76 ) μg/L,respectively.The levels of NSCLC group were significantly higher than those of benign lung disease and healthy control groups ( t =2,59 and 3.61,P ＜ 0.05 ).The serum sB7-H4 levels of Ⅲ/IV stage NSCLC patients ( 63.93 t 4.76 ) μgL,with lymph node metastasis (61.73 ±3.97) μg/L and before operation patients (63.29 ±6.19) μg/L were relatively higher thanthose inthe Ⅰ/Ⅱ stage(35.12 ± 3.88 )μg/L, without lymphnode metastasis (40.26 ± 5.39 ) μg/L,after operation ( 40.51± 4.08 ) μg/L.There were significant difference ( t =6.78,5.73 and 3.67,P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusions Serum sB7-H4 of NSCLC patients increases significantly and correlates with clinical stages and therapeutic conditions.Detecting on sB7-H4 is helpful for lung cancer diagnosis and therapeutic effect evaluation.
