Purpose To analyze the imaging manifestations of solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) so as to improve its diagnosis. Materials and Methods The CT and MRI findings of 24 patients with SFT confirmed pathologically were analyzed retrospectively and compared respectively with their pathological results in terms of lesion's location, size, shape, density (signal), type of enhancement and relationship with the surrounding tissues. Seven patients underwent MRI scan, 5 were with enhanced scan; 17 patients were carried out plain CT scan and 11 were with enhanced CT scan. Results The lesions in the 23 cases were solid and 1 was solid and cystic. Through the imaging diagnosis, 20 cases were diagnosed as benign tumors, 2 cases were diagnosed as malignancies, and 2 benign tumors were misdiagnosed, which showed that the diagnose accordance rate was 91.7%(22/24). On plain CT scans, 5 lesions (maximum diameter<4 cm) showed homogeneous density; 7 cases (maximum diameter>5 cm) showed heterogeneous density, 4 of which had calcification and 7 had necrosis; the shapes were round-like or lobulated. On enhanced CT scans, 5 cases presented progressive enhancement pattern, 5 cases showed fast-in and slow-out pattern, 1 case showed slight enhancement pattern. On MRI scan, 4 cases of the solid part of tumors showed isointensity signals on T1WI and isointensity or slight hyperintensity signals on T2WI, 3 cases showed isointensity or low signals on T1WI and low, isointensity or slight hyperintensity signals on T2WI, and slight hyperintensity signal on DWI, the solid part of tumors were strongly enhanced. Two malignant tumors presented features like heterogeneous density, unclear boundary, invasive growth and progressive enhancement pattern. The pathological findings demonstrated that the tumor tissues mainly consisted of spindle cells with rich fibers and vessels. Conclusion The imaging findings of benign and malignant SFT have certain features, malignant SFT have invasive growth signs. The obvious progressive enhancement of solid component which shows isointensity and hyperintensity on T1WI or T2WI may be helpful in the diagnosis of SFT; however, the final diagnosis should be confirmed with histopathology.

Objective To investigate the accuracy of real-time continuous glucose monitoring(RT-CGM)system in the type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods A total of 318 subjects hospitalized between 2013 May to 2014 August were recruited. Each subject received a RT-CGM system. In order to calibrate the interstitial glucose level, finger-stick blood glucose were measured at least four times every day. Patients were divided into three groups according to their finger-stick blood glucose level:≤6.99 mmol/L, 7.0-10.0 mmol/L and≥10.01 mmol/L. Pearson correlation was used to analyze the relationship between the finger-stick glucose and interstitial glucose gained from RT-CGM. Clarke error grid analysis was used to analyze the accuracy of RT-CGM. Results (1)A total of 2, 815 glucose meter values from finger-stick were com?paired with glucose from RT-CGM. A positive relationship(r=0.847)were found between CGM and finger-stick blood glu?cose. The correlation was closer with higher finger-stick blood glucose levels(r=0.457, 0.648 and 0.852 respectively in≤6.99 mmol/L group, 7.0-10.0 mmol/L group and≥10.01 mmol/L group. P<0.001).(2)The Clarke error grid analysis re?vealed that 76.69%of the readings from RT-CGM were clinical perfect (zone A), 20.28%were acceptable (zone B), 3.03%were unacceptable (zone C-E). Clinical perfect rate was lower when the finger-stick glucose≤6.99 mmol/L , compared with that when it is between 7.0-10.0 or≥10.01 mmol/L group(73.12%vs 78.63%&79.28%,P<0.05), there was no significant difference between group of 7.0-10.0 mmol/L with group≥10.01 mmol/L (P>0.05). Conclusion RT-CGM provides accu?rate blood glucose values to guide the treatment of diabetes, and the accuracy is more reliable in high glucose environment.

Lectin-likeoxidizedLDLreceptor-1(LOX-1)isoneofthemajorreceptorsoftheoxidized low-density lipoproteins (oxLDL). Recent research suggests that LOX-1 can not only bind, neutralize and degrade oxLDL, but also bind some non-oxidized lipoproteins and apoptotic blood cel s. LOX-1 is involved in the process of atherosclerosis through a variety of w ays, such as activating platelet, inducing inflammatory reaction, promoting the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cels. This article reviews the related research progress from the relationship betw een the structure and function of the LOX-1 and its lipid metabolism and the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.

To investigate the relationship among serum vascular endothelial cells(VE) -cadherin, advanced glycation end-products( AGE), and atherosclerotic lesion. 20 healthy subjects and 60 patients with diabetes mellitus,including 30 patients with carotid atherosclerosis (CI), were enrolled.Soluble VE-cadherin and AGE were determined using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent method (ELISA). The relationships among the concentration of soluble VE-cadherin, AGE, and the course of the disease, blood glucose, and blood lipid levels were analyzed with multivariant stepwise regression analysis. The levels of serum VE-cadherin and AGE in the patients with diabetes and CI were higher than those in control group( P＜0. 05 ). There was a significant difference in VE-cadherin between the diabetes group and the CI group( P＜0. 05 ). Serum VE-cadherin levels were positively correlated with serum AGE levels(r = 0. 69, P＜0. 01 ). AGE levels were positively correlated with the diabetes duration ( r = 0. 31, P =0. 02 ). The levels of serum VE-cadherin in diabetic patients are positively correlated with their serum AGE levels. The VE-cadherin seems to play an important role in the development of atherosclerosis caused by AGE.

Objective To investigate the effects of different doses Alpha-Linolenic acid ( ALA ) on the expressions of fatty acid synthesis-related genes in HepG2 cells.Methods HepG2 cells were divided into two groups, normal control group (NC) and high fat group (HF) in which cells were firstly cultured for 36h in the medium contained 0.5mmol/L stearic acid.Real-time quantitative PCR was taken to detect mRNA expression of genes SREBP1C, FAS and ACC which are related to fatty synthesis.While there are significant differences in fatty synthesis, 10%, 20%, 50%, 70% and 100%ALA took the place of stearic acid, 36h later, real-time quantitative PCR and Western blotting were taken to detect mRNA and protein expression of genes related to fatty synthesis.Results SREBP1C mRNA expression of ALA substitution groups were significantly lower than the high-fat group ( P <0.001) .The FAS of 0.5 mmol/L ALA group and 0.35 mmol/L ALA group were significantly lower than the high-fat group (P <0.001).ACC genes mRNA level was not significantly different from high-fat group.SREBP1C and FAS protein expression were significantly lower than the high-fat group, but ACC showed no significant difference.Conclusions Saturated fatty acids promote hepatocyte fatty acid synthesis, ALA abates fatty acid synthesis by inhibiting FAS and SREBP1C gene expression.

Objective To investigate the application of preoperative autologous blood donation (PABD) in selective operation.Methods Retrospective investigations and analysis were carried out in clinical datas of 1 026 patients of PABD in selective operation from January 2016 to may 2017,comparing with those who had not performed PABD in the same time.Results ①The surgeries of PABD were mainly neurosurgery,urology,orthopedics,gynecology and hepatobiliary surgery,respectively,which accounted for 5.97％,4.90％,3.78％,3.76％ and 3.55％ of the patients in the same period;②The rate of transfusion of allogeneic red blood cells of selective operation in PABD group of neurosurgery,urology,orthopedics,gynecology and hepatobiliary surgery were 5.66％,2.51％,4.89％,0 and 4.88％,respetively,while not performed PABD group were 25.46％,28.58％,24.77％,10.62％ and 17.54％,respetively;③The rate of transfusion of the group of hemoglobin (Hb)＜ 120 g/L is significantly higher than those Hb is (120-129.9) g/L,(130-139.9)g/L and ≥ 140 g/L(7.65％vs 2.44％,3.66％ and 2.70％,P＞0.05).Conclusion ①PABD is mainly carried out in neurosurgery,urology,orthopedics,gynecology and hepatobiliary surgery;②The group of Hb＜ 120 g/L has a high rate transfusion of allogeneic erythrocyte in selective operations;③Only the PABD is improved can patients make benefit from it.

Objective To compare the vascularization of collagen scaffolds with or without growth factors and their efficacy on cardiac function in postinfarcted rats underwent surgical ventricular restoration.Methods Collagen scaffolds were activated with 1-ethyl-3-[3-dimethylaminopropyl]carbodiimide hydrochloride chemistry (EDC) as control or continually covalently immobilized with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGF + basic fibrohlast growth factor (bFGF) as experimental groups.Adult SD male rats underwent left anterior descending artery (LAD) ligation to generate transmural myocardial infarction(MI).Four weeks later,by echocardiography,rats with moderate scar size(25％-35％ akinetic area of freedom wall of left ventricle) were screened out,assigned into 3 groups randomly and received the surgical ventricular restocation (SVR).Then,cardiac function was measured by echocardiography at 1w,2w and 4w after patch implantation.At endpoint of study (4w after patch implantation),the rats were sacrificed and the hearts were harvested.Vascularization of patch were determined by capillary density (evidenced by vWFⅧ staining) or mature vessel density (evidenced by SMA staining) respectively.Results The general mortality of the animal model is 15％ (6/40).A significant improvement of cardiac function was observed in all animals at 1 w after patch implantation but that was better preserved in both cytokine-conjugated groups 4w later (control group vs.VEGF group,P ＜ 0.05,control group vs.VEGF + bFGF group,P ＜ 0.01).More capillaries were present in patch with growth factors (P ＜0.05),while significant functional vessel formation was observed only in VEGF + bFGF group (P ＜0.01 vs.control or VEGF group).Additionally,we identified a positive correlation between heart function and mature vessel density (P =0.0297,r2 =0.998).Conclusion The mechanical property of collagen scaffold can be effectively improved by EDC,the growth factors immobilized in scaffold were in favor of vascularization of patch,which may facilitate the preservation of cardiac function posterior to SVR.

BACKGROUND: Female hypertension has its own epidemicologic character and the chief interventions on it are various.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the risk factors of female hypertension and observe the effects on rehabilitative and preventive intervention in demonstrative community for comprehensive prevention and treatment of cardiac cerebral vascular disease in Guizhou.DESIGN: Group randomization was designed. The samples of certain percentage were randomized according to total population from each village of 13 administrative areas.SETTING: Guizhou Institute of Cardiovascular Disease, Renmin Hospital of Yunyan District in Guiyang, Guizhou Clinical Examination Center.PARTICIPANTS: Since 1996, a series of comprehensive prevention and treatment had been carried in the communities for cardiac cerebral vascular disease in Guizhou, involved 13 administrative areas and 112 villagecitizen groups, in which, 26 604 people were employed, living in the regions between town and country. Social natural condition and life behavior of majority citizen reflected the common state of people in town and country. Totally 3 934 people aged over 15 years were investigated in the communities, and were all in the known of investigation. The samples without complete data were excluded.METHODS: ① Base-line investigation was carried on for the groups over 15 years old according to the requirement for administrative region designed by Institute of Preventive Medicine of China Academy of Sciences from April 1st 2001 to May 15th . ② Health education and health promotion activity were carried on for the included groups. ③ Survey after intervention was given for females according to the survey items designed by Institute of Preventive Medicine of China Academy of Sciences from July 2002to June 2003. ④ Normal body-mass index (BMI) was 18.5-23.9 kg/m2,overweight was indicated if BMI was 24-27.9 kg/m2 and obesity was diagnosed if BMI ≥28 kg/m2. ⑤ Analysis was applied on comparison of BMI,waist to hip ratio (WHR), average blood pressure, the rates of incidence,awareness and treatment of hypertension and rate of high-salty and lipid diet. ⑥ t test was adopted for comparison of means between two samples and x2 test was used for rate comparison.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Comparison of the rates of incidence, awareness, treatment and control of hypertension for females of different ages in community base-line investigation in Guizhou. ② Comparison of BMI, WHR and BP of females of various ages in baseline investigation.③ Comparison of incident rate of hypertension for females with various BMI in baseline investigation. ④ Comparison of BMI, WHR, BP, smoke, alcohol, rate of high-salty and lipid diet, the rates of incidence, awareness,treatment and control of hypertension for females between baseline investigation and post-intervention survey.RESULTS: In baseline investigation, 6 361 correct and complete forms were collected, with 99.84% qualified rate, of which, there were 3 934females. 1 141 data were qualified after intervention. It was indicated in community baseline investigation: ① Rates of incidence, awareness and treatment of hypertension for females were improved with increased age (P ＜ 0.05), and the control rate was decreased with increased age (P ＜ 0.05). ② BMI, WHR, SBP (systolic blood pressure) and DBP (diastolic blood pressure) and PP (pulse pressure) were improved significantly with in creased age (P ＜ 0.01). BMI for females was increased with ages, but was declined with age ≥60 years. ③ The incident rates of hypertension for groups of normal body mass, overweight and obesity were 15.05%, 23.87% and 39.37% successively, indicating that the hypertension inci dent rate was increased significantly with improved BMI (paired compari son, P ＜ 0.05). Comparison between post-intervention survey and base-line investigation: ① In the comparison, the results of BMI, WHR and BP means were reduced for most cases at same age and significant difference was displayed in majority (P ＜ 0.05). ② After intervention, smoke rate of females was increased significantly and rate of high-salty and lipid diet was decreased (P ＜ 0.05). ③ Incident rate after health intervention was decreased significantly compared with that before intervention (P ＜ 0.05),and the rates of awareness, treatment and control of hypertension were enhanced significantly (P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: ① The rates of incidence, awareness, treatment and control of female hypertension are different in ages in community of Guizhou. ② The severity of risk factor of female hypertension is enhanced with increased age in community of Guizhou. ③ The increased body mass is the important factor of incident rate of hypertension. ④ Health education probably decreases the severity of risk factor of hypertension and increases the rates of awareness, treatment and control.

The progress of research on the the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) wound healing demonstrates that the synovial tissue in the knee joint plays a very important role in the healing process of injured ACL. Therefore, the molecular response mechanisms of lysyl oxidase (LOX) and matrix metalloproteina (MMP) in normal/injured ACL fibroblast cells could be considered to perform the major analysis function of injured ACL healing mechanism. The mRNA expressions of LOXs and MMPs and the activity expressions of MMP-2 in ACL fibroblasts co-cultured with synovial cells were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR and zymography. The results showed that co-culture could regulate the mRNA expressions of LOXs and MMPs in the ACL fibroblasts cells. These results suggest that the differential expressions of LOXs and MMP-1, 2, 3 in co-cultured ACL indicate that interaction crosstalk do exist between ACL cells and synovial cells and provide a theoretical basis for subsequent exploration of the mechanisms and treatment of ACL injury and repair.
