Purpose:To investigate the influence of doxorubicin chemotherapy on overexpression of epithelial growth factor. Methods:Cancer animal model was made and treated with doxorubicin. The concentration of EGF protein in Plasma and mRNA in cancer tissue were detected by ELISA and Real-time quantitative RT-PCR respectively and the correlation of this parameter was evaluated. Results:The plasma concentrations of EGF expression were 3X Group 1.19?0.42 pg/ml, 1X Group 1.61?0.51 pg/ml, control group 2.13?0.68 pg/ml, and normal 0.91?0.33 pg/ml respectively. The concentration of EGF were analysed by ANOVA q test. The median concentrations of mRNA were 3X Group 1.6?10 3 copies/ml, 1X Group 8.5?10 4 copies/ml, control 4?10 5 copies/ml, and normal 2.5?10 2 copies/ml respectively, and were analysed by rank-sum test. It was shown that the control group had higher EGF and EGFR expression level than those treated with doxorubicin. Objective To construct a database for the genetic polymorphism of 19 STR loci in Han population from Hainan province. To investigate the application of 19 STR loci in the paternity testing. Methods The genotypes of 462 unrelated individuals in Hainan were detected with GoldeneyeTM 20A PCR Amplification Kit. 19-STR database was acquired, analyzed and evaluated in 283 paternity testing cases. Results No deviations of allele frequency from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium expectations were found for Chi-square test (P>0.05). Observed heterozygosity (Hobs) varied between 0.603 and 0.914, total discrimination power (TDP) of 19 STR loci was more than 0.999999999999999, cumulative probability of exclusion (CPE) for triplet cases was 0.999999994. In all 283 paternity testing cases, triplets and duos were 170 and 113 respectively; there were 36 (12.7%) excluded cases comparing to 247 confirmed cases (87.3%). 14 mutation events were observed, and all were one-step mutation. Conclusion 14 out of 19 loci showed highly polymorphic in Han population from Hainan, and 19 STR system has high cumulative probability of exclusion and can meet the needs of paternity test of the local region. But mutation should be paid special attention to.

Objective To compare diabetes(pre-diabetes) prevalence and awareness between Province Shanxi and Fujian .Meth-ods Study data was from China National Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders Study 2007-2008 .5 926 individuals(Shanxi 3 254 ,Fu-jian 2 672) were included as study participants .Standardized questionnaire was used to obtain demographic and lifestyle data .All participants were administered a glucose tolerance test .Results Overall diabetes prevalence was 9 .6% .The diabetes prevalence in Shanxi was lower compared with Fujian(8 .2% vs .11 .3% ,P<0 .001) .Overall pre-diabetes was 15 .4% and no significant differ-ence was found between the two provinces .The awareness of diabetes and pre-diabetes in Shanxi was lower compared with Fujian , although both provinces were not satisfactory .Conclusion Regional differences were showed in diabetes (pre-diabetes) prevalence and awareness between Province Shanxi and Fujian .

Objective To investigate the influence of the genotype distribution of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T,A1298C and methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) A66G in threatened abortion of Chinese Han gestationalage women in Sanya city,which involved in the folic acid biosynthetic pathway among.Methods One hundred and thirty-nine samples of case group and the same number of control group were recruited from Sanya region in Hainan Province.Genomic DNA was extracted from the mucosal epithelium of the subjects.The gene polyrnorphisms of MTHFR and MTRR were detected by Fluorescence quantitative PCR technology.The distribution frequencies of both case group and control group.were analyzed and compared,to investigate the effect of the gene polymorphisms on threatened abortion.Results Both the case group and the control group complied with Hardy-Weinberg law.The genotype frequency of MTHFR C677T,MTHFR A1298C and MTRR A66G were not significantly different.Conclusion This study suggests that the gene polymorphism which involved in folic metabolism was not significantly different from the group of threatened abortion and the control group,and whether the metabolism related genes are the risk factors of threatened abortion need to be further discussed.

Objective To summarize the clinical experience of successful liver transplantation from infant donation after cardiac death (DCD) for infant with biliary astresia (BA).Methods The donor was a 16-months-old girl with a body weight of 10 kg,who died of irreversible anoxic cerebral damage after sudden asphyxiation.The recipient was a 24-months-old girl with a body weight of 12 kg,who suffered from icteric concurrent late biliary cirrhosis after the Porta-jejunum anastomosis because of congenital BA.The DCD liver was classically orthotopically transplanted into the infants recipient.The warm ischemia time was 7 min,the cold ischemia time was 360 min,and the graft volume to the standard liver volume (GV/SLV) was 1.02.After operation,the vital signs and transplanted liver function of the recipient were monitored,and the recipient was given treatments of anti-infection,anticoagulation,and improving the microcirculation.The recipient was treated with the triple immunosuppression protocol of tacrolimus,mycophenolate and prednisone to prevent rejection.Results The operating time of the recipient was 480 min,the non-liver stage was 65 min,and the blood loss was 230 mL.The endotracheal intubation was removed from the recipient at 12 h,and the recipient started to eat at 48 h aftcr operation.The recipient had a hepatic artery thrombus on the 3rd and 15th day after operation,and the hepatic artery had re-blood-supply after the hepatic artery catheterization and continuous perfusion with urokinase.The recipient was discharged on the 42nd day,and the recipient was in satisfactory condition to present.Conclusion The infant DCD liver is a better graft for infant liver transplantation for BA.The surgical complications can be reduced with matched volume of donor-recipient liver; and it can guarantee a successful operation with perfect operative technique and careful perioperative management.

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of proper management of inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery (IPDA) in laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD).Methods:This is a retrospective case series study. The clinical and pathological data of 70 patients who received LPD due to pancreatic head tumors, periampullary tumors, or distal common bile duct tumors in the Pancreatic Center of the Second Clinical College of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from January to December 2022 were retrospectively collected. There were 47 males(67.1%) and 23 females(32.9%),aged (59.9±12.8)years(range:13 to 87 years).The procedure of IPDA exposure was as follows:a middle approach was utilized to expose the right half of superior mesenteric artery(SMA) and its right branches between the SMA and superior mesenteric vein(SMV) in superior colonic region. In the subcolonic region,SMA trunk exposure via dissection along the jejunal artery from feet to head and identification the association between IPDA and jejunal artery were prior to IPDA root ligation and dissection. The safety and efficacy of intraoperative IPDA handling were assessed based on surgical videos. Follow-up was carried out in outpatient clinic or by telephone, and outpatient follow-up was conducted once every 1 to 3 months after surgery.Results:The percentage of total LPD was 98.6%(69/70),with all patients achieving R0 resection. Nine cases(12.9%) were involved in combined vascular resection and reconstruction,with 1 case (1.4%) requiring additional upper abdominal incision for vascular and gastrointestinal reconstruction,while the remaining eight cases (11.4%) were completed laparoscopically. The operative time was (432.7±115.4)minutes(range:282 to 727 minutes), and the blood loss was (140.0±125.7)ml(range:20 to 800 ml). Only two patients(2.9%) received fresh frozen plasma transfusion,with an average volume of 650 ml. Reliable ligation and safe handling of the IPDA were achieved in 91.4%(64/70) of cases, with 8.6%(6/70) suffering from IPDA injury-related bleeding. No one was converted to opened surgery. Pathologically,the mean tumor size was (3.3±1.6)cm (range:1 to 7 cm),and the mean number of harvested lymph nodes was 17.0±7.3(range:0 to 46). Lymph node metastasis was observed in 13 cases (18.6%). Five cases (13.2%) developed grade B pancreatic fistula,while no grade C pancreatic fistula occurred. Other complications included bile leakage in one case(1.4%),delayed gastric emptying in two cases(2.9%), lymphatic leakage in 2 cases(2.9%),intra-abdominal infection in 9 cases(12.9%),and fat liquefaction of surgical incision in 1 case(1.4%). Two cases(2.9%) experienced postoperative intra-abdominal bleeding,one due to mesangial bleeding of lesser curvature of the stomach and the other due to oozing from the hepatic arterial sheath. These bleeding events were not concerned with IPDA. The average length of postoperative hospital stay was (15.2±4.6)days(range:9 to 28 days).Conclusion:Proper intraoperative management of IPDA in LPD might reduce IPDA-related bleeding during and after surgery and improve the safety of LPD.
