Objective To study the prospective memory and the severity of the impairment of event- based prospective memory(EBPM)and time-based prospective memory(TBPM)in normally aging adults. OBJECTIVETo investigate molding technology of total alkaloids from Sophora alopecuroides freeze-dried powders and observe its inhibition effects on liver transplantation tumor in mice.

METHODWith color, clarity, water-soluble and formability as indexes, single factor tests were adopted to screen type and amount of filler, the concentration of total alkaloids in drug liquid, pH in order to determine optimum prescription of total alkaloids from S. alopecuroides freeze-dried powders, the lowest melting point was determined and freeze drying curve was drafted. Mice hepatoma H22 ascites tumor strain was sterile inoculated in right axillary subcutaneous of mice, and antitumor effect of total alkaloids from S. alopecuroides freeze-dried powders on liver transplantation tumor H22 in mice.

RESULTWhen selected 80 g x L(-1) as mannitol as filler, the concentration of total alkaloids in drug liquid was 25 g x L(-1) and pH 6.5-7.5, freeze-dried effect was optimum with fast reconstitute speed. Average inhibition rate of the big (120 mg x kg(-1)) and medium (60 mg x kg(-1)) dose group of total alkaloids from S. alopecuroides freeze-dried powders on liver transplantation tumor H22 in mice were 56.08% and 35.49%, respectively.

CONCLUSIONPreparation technology was reasonable, reproducible and stable, total alkaloids from S. alopecuroides freeze-dried powders had significant antitumor effect and showed a dose-effect relationship.

Objective To observe the efficacy of combinated inhaled glucocorticosteroid and long- ?2 - agonist for asthmatic children. Methods Forty- seven children with moderate or severe persistent asthma were treated with inhalation of the fluticasone pro-pionate and salmeterol. ObjectiveTo study the nurse and trentment of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea.Methods30 patients with CSF rhinorrhea who accepted surgical treatment were retrospectively analyzed.Results12 cases were traumatic CSF rhinorrhea, 17 cases were CSF rhinorrhea casused by ablation brain tumor, 1 case was pontaneous CSF rhinorrhea. First operation repaired craniosinus fistula in 23 cases, re-operation repaired in 7 cases after first operation failure. There were hydrocephalus in 1 cases, ventriculitis in 1 case, subdural effusion in 1 case.ConclusionAccurate location of the fistula and during surgical probing are important for the success of treatment, and prevention infection is very important to surgery success, and descent complication.

OBJECTIVE: Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP), a novel hypothalamic neuropeptide, has been suggested to play a role in ovarian folliculogenesis. The present study evaluated the effect of PACAP on the growth of preantral follicles. METHODS: Preantral follicles were mechanically isolated from ovaries of 21-day-old rats and cultured in groups for 3 days in serum-free medium in the absence or presence of PACAP-38 (10-6 M). RESULTS: Treatment with PACAP-38 resulted in an increase in follicle diameter by 75% whereas treatment with follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) increased follicle diameter by 65%. PACAP-38 treatment enhanced the granulosa cell proliferation as measured by thymidine incorporation analysis. Furthermore, the production of progesterone by cultured granulosa cells and GFSHR-17 cell line was stimulated by PACAP-38. Interestingly, PACAP enhanced FSH action on stimulation of SF-1 and aromatase gene expression. CONCLUSION: The present results demonstrate that PACAP stimulated preantral follicle growth by potentiating proliferation and by stimulating steroidogenesis.

We report a case of hereditary trichilemmal cyst with proliferating trichilemmal tumor in a 64-year-oid man, who has generalized 157, variable sized firm cutaneous nodules for 40 years. The cystic nodules are chiefly located on the scalp and trunk which showed characteristic histopathologieal findings of trichilemmal cyst and proliferating trichilemmal tumors. His son also has multiple trichilemmal cysts and his mother seems to have had clinically similar lesions. The patient and his son were treated with surgical excision and therapeutic trial of oral isotretinoin for 2 months. Isotretionoin was ineffective in the patient, but the lesions of his son were decreased in size.

OBJECTIVES: Bok, Bcl-2-related ovarian killer, is a proapoptotic Bcl-2 family protein identified in the ovary based on its dimerization with the antiapoptotic protein Mcl-1. The present study examined the hormonal regulation and localization of Bok messenger RNA levels in the mouse ovary during the follicle development. METHODS: The animals were implanted subcutaneously with Silastic brand capsules containing the synthetic estrogen, DES at 21~23 days of age. Ovaries were collected 1~3 days after implantation for RNA analysis and in situ hybridization. Some mice were removed capsule for 1~2 days to induce ovarian follicle apoptosis. Ovaries were also collected from 26 day-old immature mice at various times after treatment with 10 iU PMSG. Some mice received a single intraperitoneal injection of 10 iU hCG to induce ovulation, and ovaries were obtained at different time intervals for Northern blot and in situ hybridization analysis, respectively. RESULTS: Treatment of immature mice with diethylstilbestrol (DES) for 24~48 h increased ovarian Bok mRNA levels. Bok mRNA was remained the same levels in mice removed DES for 24~48 h to induce apoptosis. High signals of Bok mRNA after DES treatment were detected in granulosa cells of early antral follicles. Treatment of immature mice with PMSG for 12 h increased markedly ovarian Bok mRNA expression which was detected mainly in preantral and atretic follicles. interestingly, low levels of Bok mRNA were also expressed in granulosa cells of preovulatory follicles. Treatment of PMSGprimed mice with hCG stimulated strongly ovarian Bok mRNA expression at 6~9 h. At that time, Bok mRNA was expressed in granulosa cells of atretic and small growing follicles. CONCLUSION: These results demonstrate that Bok is one of proapoptotic Bcl-2 members expressed in early growing and atretic follicles during the ovarian follicular development. Gonadotropins induce a transient increase of Bok gene expression in granulosa cells of preantral and preovulatory follicles indicating some role in the ovulatory process.
