Objective To discuss the application value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the data of 186 patients who were diagnosed as colorectal cancer by 18F-FDG PET/CT. We classifed all cases according PET/CT imaging into position group and type group,and calculated SUV (maximum standard uptake value) of tumor tissue, and compared with normal tissue. Results There were 112 cases of rectal cancer,27 cases of carcinoma of sigmoid, 17 cases of carcinoma of cecum,16 cases of ascending colon carcinoma,14 cases of carcinoma of descending colon according to positions via PET/CT. There were 68 cases of protrude type,57 cases of ulcerative type,34 cases of infiltrating type,27 cases of colloid adenoma according types via PET/CT. The SUV of tumor tissue was higher than normal value,the difference had statistical significance. Conclusion 18F-FDG PET/CT has high application value in colorectal cancer diagnosis, positions and types.

Objective To observe the influence of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNFα) on skeletal muscle protein catabolism in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and the effects of indomethacin (IND) on it. Methods Duplicated COPD model rats were divided into two groups: the malnutrition group and the normal nutrition group. The malnutrition group were further divided by randomized block design into four groups. Isotonic physiologic saline was administered to group A, the control and the normal nutrition group, and different doses of oral IND were administered to groups B, C, and D weight, concentrations of TNFα, contents of 3-methyl-histidine ( 3- M H ) and tyrosine (Tyr) in the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscle homogenates were measured before and after the intervention. Results Before the intervention, the concentrations of TNFα in the serum of malnutrition groups were all significantly higher than those of normal nutrition group and the control group. After the intervention: (1) The concentrations of TNFα in the serum of the rats of group B, C and D were significantly lower than the group A, especially in group C. The levels of TNFα in serum and body weight of model group rats were negatively correlated ( r = -0. 846, P ＜0. 01 ), as well as the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscle weights ( r = - 0. 778, P ＜ 0. 01; r = - 0. 772, P ＜ 0. 01 ). (2) The levels of 3-methyl-histidine in the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscles of the intervention group C was lower than the COPD normal nutrition group, as well as the intervention groups B and D. The contents of tyrosine in the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscles of the intervention group C was lower than that of the COPD normal nutrition group,as well as the groups B and D. The body weight growth value of the intervention group B were slightly higher than the group A, without significant difference( P ＞ 0. 05 ), while the group C was significantly higher than the group A ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). Conclusions TNFα is involved in the occurrence of COPD malnutrition and skeletal muscle amyotrophy. IND can reduce the TNFα levels in the serum and the catabolic rates of the skeletal muscle proteins in malnutrition rats with COPD, so as to improve partly the skeletal muscle atrophy.

Background The extraocular muscles (EOMs) Pulley is considered as the functional origins of the recti EOMs,it is determinants of ocular motility.Objective The structure of the connective tissue around EOMs in cat was studied,and the role of EOMs Pulley to ocular movement was investigated.Methods Five adult cats were involved.The gross anatomy of an orbit in each cat was observed.The other orbit was processed with paraffin imbedding and coronal serial sections.A murine monocolonal antibody to α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) was used to show smooth muscle,while Masson trichrome stain was used to show muscle and collagen,and Weigert stain to show elastin.Results An encircling ring of collagen circled EOM was thin and connected to the orbital layer of muscle fiber loosely.Less elastin fibers and little smooth muscle cells were embedded in the collagen ring and connective band.Collagen ring around medial rectus and the connective band between medial rectus and inferior rectus was not more significantly developed than other bands.Conclusions The connective tissue around EOMs in cat may be related to its function of ocular movement,which is not developed.

Objective:To study the effects of Tongxinluo,a traditional Chinese medicine,on the proliferation of peripheral blood-derived endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)in vitro.Methods:The Tongxinluo solution was prepared through ultrasonication according to the pervious literature.The mononuclear cells(MNCs)were isolated from the peripheral blood with Ficoll by density gradient centrifugation.MNCs were suspended in Medium 199 containing 20% fetal blood serum(FBS)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).After cultured for 7 d,the attached cells were characterized by Di-LDL uptaking and FITC-lectin binding by laser confocal microscope,and further identified through detection of CD34 and CD133 expression by flow cytometry.Then the cultured EPCs were incubated with Tongxinluo at a series of concentrations(0,50,100,200,500, 750,1000?g/ml)for different durations(0,6,12,24 and 36 h).The cell morphology was observed and cell proliferation was determined by MTT assay.Results:Incubation with different concentrations of Tongxinluo increased the proliferative ability of EPCs.Tongxinluo at 500?g/ml had the most prominent effect on proliferation and the effect increased as time went by and reached peak at 36 h(growth rate 54.18%,P

Objective To explore the correlation between Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) in children over 6 years old and its relative treatment.Me-thods One hundred and eighty children over 6 years old with the diagnosis of RAP from Mar.2007 to Feb.2009 were selected,30 healthy children without RAP were taken as the healthy control group at the same period.14C-urea breath test (14C-UBT) was used to detect whether the patient was infected by Hp.The radical cure of Hp was given to the Hp-positive children with RAP,and the remission rate of children with RAP and the Hp negative rate were observed.Results The positive rate in RAP group was 58.33%,which was higher significantly than that in healthy control group(20.00%)(P0.05).The positive rate of those with and without bad eating habits were 45.56% and 12.78%,and the positive rate of with and without family gastrosis history was 49.44% and 8.89%,which both had significant difference between them(Pa

Thrombus is a major factor leading to cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and stroke. Although fibrinolytic anti-thrombotic drugs have been widely used in clinical practice, they are still limited by narrow therapeutic windows, short half-lives, susceptibility to inactivation, and abnormal bleeding caused by non-targeting. Therefore, it is crucial to effectively deliver thrombolytic agents to the site of thrombus with minimal adverse effects. Based on the long blood circulation and excellent drug-loading properties of human serum albumin (HSA), we employed genetic engineering techniques to insert a functional peptide (P-selectin binding peptide, PBP) which can target the thrombus site to the N-terminus of HSA. The fusion protein was expressed using Pichia pastoris and purified by Ni-chelating affinity chromatography. After being loaded with gold nanoparticles (Au NPs), the fusion protein formed homogeneous and stable nanoparticles (named as PBP-HSA@Au) with a diameter of 17.7 ± 1.0 nm and a zeta potential of -11.3 ± 0.2 mV. Cytotoxicity and hemolysis tests demonstrated the superb biocompatibility of PBP-HSA@Au. Platelet-targeting experiments confirmed the thrombus-targeting ability conferred by the introduction of PBP into PBP-HSA@Au. Upon near-infrared ray (NIR) irradiation, PBP-HSA@Au rapidly converted light energy into heat, thereby disrupting fibrinogen and exhibiting outstanding thrombolytic efficacy. The designed HSA fusion protein delivery system provides a precise, rapid, and drug-free treatment strategy for thrombus therapy. This system is characterized by its simple design, high biocompatibility, and strong clinical applicability. Objective To investigate the imaging features of perivascular epithelioid cell tumor of liver (PEComa),and to improve the diagnostic level of the disease. Methods A retrospective analysis of imaging manifestations was performed on 11 cases of hepatic hemangioma confirmed by surgery and pathology. All patients underwent CT and MRI examination before PET/CT examination ,then received operation. Results Eleven cases were solitary hepatic lesions ,10 of which were located in the right lobe of the liver ,and 1 in the left. The lesions were round or quasi-circular and the diameter ranged from about 13.5cm to about 1.8 cm,with an average of 5.7 cm. CT plain scanning showed that the liver was slightly lower density ,with clear boundary. The smaller lesions were homogeneous density,while the larger ones were not,and the lower density area was visible. Enhancement of peripheral lesions in the arterial phase was enhanced. The lesions in the portal vein were not uniformly enhanced , and visible separation was found in large lesions. In the delay phase ,the lesions were significantly decreased or slightly lower. MRI plain scan showed the lesion T1WI showed moderate signal or slightly low signal ,and large lesion signal was not uniform,and T2WI lesions showed slightly high signal while DWI lesions high signal and the enhanced features were similar to those of CT. PET/CT examination showed that visible radioactive uptake of abnormal concentration or uneven concentration were found in lesions with diameter larger than 3.0 cm,and the maximum SUV value ranged from 12.2 to 3.6,with an average value of 5.7. Lesions with diameter less than 3.0 cm showed a slight concentration of radioactive uptake and the highest SUV value was 4.7,with an average value of 2.9. The only 11.8 cm lesion showed no significant radioactivity ,which was as the same as that of normal liver tissue. Delayed PET/CT imaging(1 hour)showed that SUV values of all lesions were decreased in varying degrees. Conclusion PET/CT imaging of perivascular epithelioid cell tumor of liver has its characteristics. The combina-tion of PET/CT imaging and routine imaging examination will benefit the improvement of diagnosis level obviously.
