Complement system is an important constituent in immune system.Membrane attack complex (C5b-9)is the final ingredient in the complement activation.Recently,a few studies showed that C5b-9 deposition was found in the diabetics with chronic complications, indicating that complement activation might be involved in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications. Our aim is to summarize some newly published works and show a prelimimary work we did in this area.We hope that more attention should be paid to the role of autoimmune mechanism in diabetic complications.

Objective To survey the multi-drug resistance among the isolates of methicillinresistant Staphyloeocus from lower respiratory tract in post-cardiothoracic surgery patients and the risk factors contributing to infection aggravation. Methods The clinical data of lower respiratory tract infections were reviewed retrospectively from June 2011 to December 2012.The antimicrobial susceptibility testing was analyzed according to CLSI breakpoints 2010.Results A total of 323 clinical isolates was identified in 264 patients, including gram-positive coccus (126 strains) and gram-negative bacillus (197 strains). The prevalence of methiciIlin-resistant srtains was 88.5 % (54/61)in Staphylococus.Aureus (MRSA),and 77.3% (17/22) in Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).No VISA or VRSA strain was identified. One enterococcal strain was resistant to Vancomycin and teicoplanin.MRSA/MRSE were also isolated from hands and nasal vestibule of nurses, article surfae,pipeline/interface of breathing machine and ward atmosphere. Conclusions Patients after cardiothoracic operation are susceptible to lower respiratory tract infection with gram positive cocci, which should be paid more attention to airway management.Rational administration, sterile operation and antimicrobial therapy are effective ways for control of multi-durg resistance.

AIM: To investigate the time window of bone marrow stem cell homing to the inchemia myocardium. METHODS: 110 SD male rats were randomly divided into four groups: GM-CSF-treated group (n=40) and sham-treated group (n=15) were given GM-CSF (50 ?g/kg/d) for 5days. The control group (n=40) and its sham-treated group (n=15) was injected equal volume of saline, acute myocardiar infarction were induced by LAD ligation in each group. At 1, 3, 5, 10 days in each group, the homed bone marrow stem cells were detected by expression of c-kit with immunohistochemical methods. Cardiac performance and pathological changes were examined at 28 days. RESULTS: At 28 days, both systolic function and diastolic function in GM-CSF-treated group were significantly higher than those in control group (P

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(09):-
Objective To determine serum cytokine profiles and levels in patients with early diabetic retinopathy(DR)by using antibody array technology and analyze their clinical significances. Methods Among 32 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,16 patients with mild to moderate non-proliferative DR were as DR group;and 16 patients without retinopathy,as diabetic control group.Eight healthy subjects were selected as normal control group. The profiles of 42 cytokines were detected by human cytokines antibody array(Raybiotech). Results Compared with diabetic control group,in DR group, levels of epithelial neutrophil-activating peptide-78(ENA-78),growth related gene(GRO),regulated upon activation normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES),angiogenin, vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF)increased significantly(P

Objective To study the subchronic toxicity of sodium fluoride on mRNA expression of estrogen receptor(ER) in female mice. Methods Forty female mice were randomly divided into 4 groups according to body mass,10 in each group, and exposed to sodium fluoride solution(0,1,5,25 mg/L) through drinking water in control,low-dose,medium-dose and high-dose groups for 12 weeks. The expression levels of ERα,ER3 mRNA in ovarian tissues were determined by RT-PCR method. Results The relative expression levels of ERα,ERβ mRNA in control,low-,medium-and high-dose groups were 0.7028 + 0.0474,0.7195 ± 0.0552,0.6479 ± 0.0590,0.5684 ± 0.0513 and 0.8418 ± 0.0131,0.7729 ± 0.0974,0.7610 ± 0.0984,0.8026 ± 0.0234,respectively.The difference between high-dose and control groups of the expression level of ERα was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusions The subchronic toxicity of fluoride can decrease the expression of estrogen receptor in ovarian tissue, which may have a certain effect on reproductive development of female mice.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2017;19(5):393-398
Objective To evaluate graft isometry after anatomic single bundle reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) using dynamic computed tomography (CT).Methods A retrospective study was conducted of the 14 patients who had undergone single bundle ACL reconstruction from June to August 2015.They were all men, with an average age of 28.6 years (range, from 18 to 39 years). At 6 months after operation, they received dynamic CT scanning during a cycle of knee extension to flexion.3D bone models representing the knee at different flexion positions (0°,30°,60°,90°,and 120°) in each patient were reconstructed from the CT images. The grid method was used to locate the positions of the central footprints of the tibial and femoral tunnels. The lengths between the entries of the femoral and tibial tunnels were measured from each tunnel entry to reflect the graft length change.Furthermore,we measured the isometry at the over-the-top position of the femur and at the anatomic tibial position. Results All the tunnel entries were located at the central area of the ACL anatomic attachment. The reconstructed ACL was the longest when the knee was in full extension. The length was gradually shortened between the femoral and tibial tunnels during flexion of the knee from 0° to 90°.The anatomic position showed an average of 4.82 mm shortening and the over-the-top position an average of 3.28 mm shortening. The length excursion increased in early flexion from 0° to 30° (2.91 ±0.91 mm on average) and reduced in later flexion from 90° to 120° (2.98 ± 1.41 mm on average). Conclusions None of the reconstructed ACL was isometric.A graft length may be the longest when the knee is in full extension and decrease gradually during the flexion from 0° to 90° and increase gradually during the flexion of 90° to 120°.The graft should be fixed when the knee is in the flexion of 30°.
10.Relevance between writing characteristic and therapeutic effect in schizophrenia.
Journal of Forensic Medicine 2014;30(2):93-95
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the relevance between writing characteristic and therapeutic effect in schizophrenia and to discuss the influence of aggressive behavior on writing characteristic.
METHODS:
Recoding the casual and fixed writing in admission, one week, two weeks, four weeks, eight weeks after treatment and rating Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and Modified Overt Aggression Scale (MOAS). Choosing two characteristics, "relationship between font and grid lines" and "having big strokes or not", and comparing before and after treatment.
RESULTS:
Eight weeks after treatment, the score of PANSS decreased. The condition of patients and the writing characteristic improved as well. The differences of writing characteristics were statistically significant in patients with aggressive behavior before and after treatment (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
The writing characteristic has relation with therapeutic effects and improved with therapeutic effects in aggressive patients.
