Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(21):19-22
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of recombinant human interferon α-2b gel onflooding prevention in loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) during and after the operation.Method The 152 patients with cervical disease were randomly divided into three groups: group A(recombinant human interferon α-2b gel treatment group), group B (hypophysin treatment group)and groupC(control group). Results The amount of intraoperative bleeding and the amount of post-operative bleedingof the group A was (2.57±1.19) ml and (2.24±1.75) ml, the group B was (3.00±1.49) ml and (45.86±26.14) hal, the group C was (45.62±39.57) ml and (56.90±41.90) ml, respectively. There was no differencebetween group A and group B in the amount of intraoperative bleeding (P>0.05), but significantly less thangroup C (P<0.01). There was no difference between group B and group C in the amount of post-operativebleeding (P>0.05), but significantly much more than group A (P<0.01). Conclusion Recombinanthuman interferon α-2b gel is effective on reducing intraoperative and post-operative bleeding in LEEP.

In the study, the inhibitory effect of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) on Calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis and its possible mechanism were investigated. The rat Calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis model was induced through the combined oral administration of ethylene glycol and ammonium chloride, which was intervened with EGCG. Rat blood samples were collected to detect blood creatinine (Cr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and blood calcium. Rat urine samples were collected to observe and compare 24-hour urine volume, oxalic acid (Ox) and calcium in urine. Renal samples were collected to prepare tissue slices and observe the pathological changes in Calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis. The expression of osteopontin (OPN) in renal tissues was evaluated by Real-time PCR and Western blot. According to the results, compared with normal rats, rats in the nephrolithiasis model showed significant increases in Cr, BUN, urine Calcium, urine Ox and renal OPN expression (P < 0.05), but obvious decrease in 24-hour urine volume (P < 0.05); Compared with rats with nephrolithiasis, those processed with EGCG revealed remarkable declines in Cr, BUN, urine Calcium and urine Ox (P < 0.05), with significant rise in 24-hour urine volume (P < 0.05) in a concentration-dependent manner. Additionally, compared with the control group, nephrolithiasis rats showed significant pathological changes in Calcium oxalate calculus. After ECCG treatment, the renal pathological changes and OPN expression attenuated significantly in a concentration-dependent manner. The results showed that EGCG inhibits the formation of calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis in rats and shows a notable protective effect on renal functions.

Chinese Journal of Medical Library and Information Science 2014;(12):59-62
After a description of the new connotations of information literacy education in medical undergraduates in the era of omnimedica such as visual information literacy education, media information literacy education and mobile information literacy education, new strategies were proposed for the information literacy education in medical undergraduates in the era of omnimedia, including updating teaching model, adding education contents, and improving omnimedia presentation ability.

Objective To survey the multi-drug resistance among the isolates of methicillinresistant Staphyloeocus from lower respiratory tract in post-cardiothoracic surgery patients and the risk factors contributing to infection aggravation. Methods The clinical data of lower respiratory tract infections were reviewed retrospectively from June 2011 to December 2012.The antimicrobial susceptibility testing was analyzed according to CLSI breakpoints 2010.Results A total of 323 clinical isolates was identified in 264 patients, including gram-positive coccus (126 strains) and gram-negative bacillus (197 strains). The prevalence of methiciIlin-resistant srtains was 88.5 % (54/61)in Staphylococus.Aureus (MRSA),and 77.3% (17/22) in Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).No VISA or VRSA strain was identified. One enterococcal strain was resistant to Vancomycin and teicoplanin.MRSA/MRSE were also isolated from hands and nasal vestibule of nurses, article surfae,pipeline/interface of breathing machine and ward atmosphere. Conclusions Patients after cardiothoracic operation are susceptible to lower respiratory tract infection with gram positive cocci, which should be paid more attention to airway management.Rational administration, sterile operation and antimicrobial therapy are effective ways for control of multi-durg resistance.

Objective To explore the feasibility and to improve the efficiency of testing circulating tumor cells(CTC)in patients with renal cell carcinoma by Cell-search System(CSS).Methods Eight patients with renal cell carcinoma hospitalized in the PUMC urology department for further clinical evaluation in Jan.to Jun.2012 were enrolled in this study. There were 5 males and 3 females with mean age of 64 (57-70)years.There were 2 cases in clinical stage T3N0M0 and 6 cases in T4N0M1;3 cases were treated with radical nephrectomy,5 cases were treated with targeted therapy drugs.7.5 ml peripheral blood samples from these patients were collected and saved in test tube at the temperature of 15 ℃-30 ℃.The tests had to be done within 96 hrs after the blood sample drawn. We selected fluorescent anti-CKS/18/19 antibodies as CTC makers for renal cell carcinoma. Then the number of CTC was quantitative detected by CSS.The feasibility and detection rate of testing CTC in patients with RCC by CSS was evaluated, and the improvement of method was discussed. Results Quantitative test results of CTC in 8 patients with renal cell carcinoma were negative.25 CK+CD45 + double positive cells were found in one T4N0M1 patient's peripheral blood. The detection rate of the CTC in TNM stage T3N0M0 and T4N0M1 renal cell carcinoma patients using CSS with epithelial tumor cell maker anti-CK8/18/19 was zero. Conclusions Anti-CK8/18/19 antibodies can not be used in testing circulating tumor cells in patients with renal cell carcinoma by Cell-search System.

Objective To investigate the role of matrix metalloproteinase 2, 9 (MMP 2, MMP 9) and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases 2, 1(TIMP 2, TIMP 1 ) in human amniochorionic membrane Methods Amniochorionic membranes were collected from the following groups of women: (1) women with spontaneous premature rupture of membrane (PROM) before onset of labor (PROM group, n =8), (2) Women with term labor after vaginal delivery (vaginal delivery group, n =8), (3) Women undergoing elective cesarean section (C section group, n =8) Messenger ribonucleic acid expression for MMP 2, MMP 9, and their specific inhibitors TIMP 2 and TIMP 1 were studied with reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction Results (1)MMP 2 level in PROM group was 0 849?0 037;in vaginal delivery group 0 327?0 023;in C section group 0 307?0 028 Expression in PROM group was highest, with significant difference compared with the other groups ( P 0 05) (2)MMP 9 level in PROM group was 0 026?0 004;in vaginal delivery group 0 008?0 001,with significant difference between the two groups ( P 0 05) Conclusions In PROM group, the expression of MMP 2, MMP 9 and their inhibitors TIMP 2, TIMP 1 is imbalanced, leading to increased extracellular matrix degradation, and weakening of the fetal membranes, and eventually premature rupture of the membranes
