Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of foam sclerotherapy with lauromacrogol for varicose veins of the lower extremities. Methods During the period from February to July 2011,we retrospectively analyzed 20 patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities, who were treated with lauromacrogol foam sclerosing agent injected directly at varicose veins, and in 5 extremities injected at the great saphenous vein(GSV) through a catheter at the same time.Elastic bandages were applied at the site of the injected varicosities after the therapy. The clogging of the varicose veins, the improvement of the clinical symptoms and the adverse reaction were observed. Results Lauromacrogol foam sclerosing agent was successfully injected under the guidance of fluoroscopy in 20 patients with 28 affected extremities. The average volume of foam sclerosing agent in each affected extremity was 7.8 ml. All patients presented selflimiting minor complications, including swelling and pain, which was obviously alleviated by the externallyapplied Mucopolysaccharide Polysulfate Cream. Two patients presented cough that was relieved after inhaling oxygen. Most of treated varicosities demonstrated pigmentation after the first week, which gradually disappeared after the four-month use of vitamin E capsule.A second foam sclerotherapy was carried out for 3 affected extremities of 3 patients two months after the first therapy. Two cases of leg venous ulcer were healed within a few weeks. All patients could walk immediately with no deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, anaphylaxis,or transient visual disturbance. Obvious abnormal varicose veins as well as the soreness and fatigue of the lower extremities disappeared in all patients at the 10th-month follow-up.The grading of the disease was significantly improved by the treatment (Z =5.103,P < 0.01 ).Conclusions The efficacy of lauromacrogol foam sclerosing agent in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities is confirmed, with advantages of lower complication, ease of treatment, repeatability, and outpatient treatment.the filling-defects technique under fluoroscopy is a method for tracing the sclerosing foam, and can effectively prevent the decp vcin thrombosis.

Objective To study DNA quantification and STR typing of samples pre-treated with pyrami-don. Methods The blood samples of ten unrelated individuals were anticoagulated in EDTA. The blood stains were made on the filter paper. The experimental groups were divided into six groups in accor-dance with the storage time, 30 min, 1 h, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after pre-treated with pyramidon. DNA was extracted by three methods: magnetic bead-based extraction, QIAcube DNA purification method and Chelex-100 method. The quantification of DNA was made by fluorescent quantitative PCR. STR typing was detected by PCR-STR fluorescent technology. Results In the same DNA extraction method, the sample DNA decreased gradually with times after pre-treatment with pyramidon. In the same storage time, the DNA quantification in different extraction methods had significant differences. Sixteen loci DNA typing were detected in 90.56% of samples. Conclusion Pyramidon pre-treatment could cause DNA degradation, but effective STR typing can be achieved within 24 h. The magnetic bead-based extrac-tion is the best method for STR profiling and DNA extraction.

Objective To investigate the effects of endothelial cell, neutrophil and platelet activation on the development and thrombophilia of malignant lymphoma. Methods The levels of cell activating factors soluble thrombomodulin (sTM) in 40 patients with malignant lymphoma and 30 healthy controls in Jiangdu People ''s Hospital of Yangzhou from October 2009 to November 2016 were tested by enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA). The flow cytometry (FCM) method was used to measure the level of CD11b on the surface of anti-freezing whole blood neutrophil and CD62p on the surface of platelet. The results were analyzed by ANOVA and LSD-t test. Results The level of sTM in patients with malignant lymphoma before treatment was significantly higher than that after treatment and in the control group [(49.7±9.3) ng/ml vs. (6.3± 1.8) ng/ml, (5.6±1.5) ng/ml respectively;F=736.633, P=0.000]. There were significant differences between the levels before and after treatment and before treatment and in the control group (t= 33.789, P= 0.000;t=31.782, P=0.000). The average fluorescence intensity (MFI) of neutrophil surface CD11b in patients with malignant lymphoma before treatment was significantly higher than that after treatment and in the control group (184 ± 43 vs. 118 ± 12, 112 ± 15 respectively; F=101.845, P=0.000). There were significant differences between the levels before and after treatment and before treatment and in the control group (t=12.228, P= 0.000; t= 12.184, P= 0.000). The level of platelet surface CD62p in patients with malignant lymphoma before treatment was significantly higher than that after treatment and in the control group [(6.4 ± 2.4) % vs. (1.2 ± 0.7) %, (1.3 ± 0.5) % respectively; F= 141.481, P= 0.000]. There were significant differences between the levels before and after treatment and before treatment and in the control group (t=15.010, P= 0.000; t= 13.679, P= 0.000). Conclusions The levels of cell activating factors might be correlated with the progression of malignant lymphoma. Furthermore, endothelial cell, neutrophil and platelet activation have accelerated the development of malignant lymphoma, and the interaction among them may result in the prethrombotic state.

The status of lymph node metastasis is an important prognostic factor for many malignant tumors, including lung cancer. In the 8th edition of the TNM staging system for lung cancer, the T staging had obvious changes and refinements, but the N staging had little changes. Recently, several studies have found that the prognosis of patients with the same N stage can vary greatly, suggesting that a more detailed subgroup of patients with the same N stage should be subdivided, including the inclusion of extra-capsular lymph node metastases (ENE). In this review, we reviewed the definition, classification/grading, imaging diagnosis, pathological diagnosis, related molecular markers and their relationship with the prognosis of lung cancer patients.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2020;29(6):516-521
Objective:To explore the application value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound with SonoLiver software including quantitative analysis and dynamic vascular pattern (DVP) in the intraoperative diagnosis of glioma. Methods:SonoLiver software was used to analyze the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) process of 252 cases with different grades of gliomas in General Hospital of Southern Theatre Command of PLA from 2006 to 2016. Among them, 144 were in the low-grade gliomas (LGG) group and 108 were in the high-grade gliomas (HGG) group. The quantitative parameters included maximum intensity (IMAX), time to peak (TTP) and mean transit time (mTT). The images of each CEUS were obtained, and the microvessel density (MVD) of corresponding pathology was compared, so as to analyze their correlations and characteristics. Results:There were significant differences in IMAX, TTP and mTT between the CEUS parameters of gliomas with different grades. IMAX in HGG group was significantly higher than that in LGG group( P<0.001), while TTP was shorter ( P=0.017) and mTT was longer( P=0.030). By correlation analysis between MVD and the CEUS parameters, MVD was positively correlated with IMAX ( r s=0.736, P<0.001) and mTT( r s=0.184, P=0.003), but negatively correlated with TTP( r s=-0.186, P=0.003). Compared with DVP images, the tumor areas of LGG group were mainly warm and black colors with small spots of cool-colored areas, and most of the surrounding areas were more obvious black areas. In HGG group, the tumor areas were mainly warm colors. Most of which were scattered in patchy cold colors areas, and the surrounding black areas were less ( P<0.05). There were significant differences in differentiating gliomas boundary before and after using DVP technique ( P<0.05). After using DVP, the boundary of glioma was clearer and more discernible. The discernibility of HGG group was up to 99%, and that of LGG group reached 97%. Conclusions:SonoLiver software can effectively and quantitatively analyze the CEUS parameters of gliomas with different grades, and its DVP images can directly reflect the contrast perfusion characteristics of gliomas, providing a new way to distinguish the boundary of gliomas and a new imaging method for the differential diagnosis of high and low grades of gliomas.
