1.Death patterns of the mouse fibroblast cell L929 induced by ferrite stainless steel in magnetic attachment

BACKGROUND: It has been reported that 26-1 ferrite stainless steel has excellent biological characteristics, but the report of its biocompatibility is rare, especially the evaluation of biocompatibility by apoptosis mechanism. OBJECTIVE: To study the pattern of call death induced by magnetic-attached 26-1 ferrite stainless steel and to evaluate whether 26-1 ferrite stainless steal meats the biocompatibility in clinical application. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A contrast observational study at the level of molecular biology was performed at Central Laboratory of China Medical University from June 2004 to June 2005.MATERIALS: 26-1 ferrite stainless steel (Fe - 26% Cr - 1% Mo), Tilite [70% Ni - 16% Cr - (4%-6%) Ti - ether alloy elements] and Co-Cr alloy (Co - 30% Cr - 5% Mo) were used in this study. Embed and cast metal materials then were cut into roll discs whose diameters were 12 mm.METHODS: ① The fibroblast L929 cells were co-cultured with the three materials, while cells in the negative control group were cultured in RPMI1640 media. At 18 and 24 hours after culture, types of cell death were quantitatively detected using fluorescein isothiocyanate and propidium iodide (PI) staining. ② Apoptosis rate and cycle distribution of L929 cells were detected using flow cytometry and Pl staining at 24 hours after respectively culturing in 25%, 50%, and 100% leaching liquor. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Ratio between apoptosis and necrosis of L929 cells induced by different materials; apoptotic rate and cycle distribution of L929 cells.RESULTS: All the three materials could decrease the survival rate of L929 cells: in particular, there was no significant difference in necrosis rate between different concentration material groups and negative control group, suggesting that call apoptosis was the major factor to induce cytopathic effect, but there was no significant difference between the three material groups. Apoptosis of L929 cells indicated a great fashion of time- and concentration-dependence. There was no significant difference in apoptosis rate of L929 cells betwean the three material groups.CONCLUSION: Cell apoptosis is a major pattern induced by 26-1 ferrite stainless steel which meets the biocompatibility as a clinical material and can be safely applied in dinic.
2.Management of disorder of temporomandibular joint syndrome using elastic resin occlusal pad: a clinical observation

Objective To investigate the possibility of occlusal pad in treating disorder of temporomandibular joint syndrome.Methods We treated 25 patients with disorder of temporomandibular joint syndrome using occlusal pad made of elastic resin,and evaluated the effects.Results Total effective rate was 96% .Clicking and pain dissappeared in all patients.Conclusion Occlusal pad made of elastic resin could be used for treating disorder of temporomandibular joint syndrome in clinic.

4.Association between Peri-Implantitis and Gene Polymorphism of Interleukin-1

Objective To investigate the relationship between gene polymorphism of interleukin (IL) -1 and peri-implantitis. Methods A case-control experimental design was used in this study. Moreover, using a bioinformatics analysis, we selected three tagged single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) suitable for the Chinese population. Patients with peri-implantitis (n = 116) and 87 patients without peri-implantitis were included. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was used to tag SNP of IL-1α, IL-1β, and IL-1γn. Results The rs2856838 locus of the AA genotype of IL-1α was associated with a higher risk of implant periodontitis than the GG genotype. There was no statistical difference between the two groups with regard to the other SNP. Conclusion The AA genotype of rs2856838 is associated with periprosthetic inflammation.
5.ADT combined withabiraterone and prednisone in the treatment of a patient with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer

Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) combined with abiraterone and prednisone.for metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) is proved effective in many researches, but it is not verified in china. We present the case of a 62-year-old man who was referred to our hospital for high-risk mHSPC with the main symptoms of dysuria and weak stream. the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) was elevated, and the results of biopsy, magnetic resonance and PET-CT showed prostate cancer with multiple lymph node metastases to the right scapula and right pubic bone (T 3bN 1M 1b). The patients were treated with the combination of ADT plus abiraterone and prednisone. After treatment, the level of PSA and testosterone returned to normal and were well-controlled.
6. Efficacy of Weitan Waifu patch on the postsurgical gastroparesis syndrome of gastrointestinal cancer: a multi-center trial

Objective:
To investigate the safety and efficacy of the Weitan Waifu patch on the postsurgical gastroparesis syndrome (PGS) of gastrointestinal cancer.
Methods:
The multi-center, double-blind, randomized controlled trial was conducted with superiority design. Patients with PGS of gastrointestinal cancer diagnosed in 4 AAA hospitals and the abdominal symptom manifested as cold syndrome by Chinese local syndrome differentiation were recruited. These patients were randomly divided into two groups according to 1∶1 proportion. Placebo or Weitan Waifu patch was applied in control group or intervention group, respectively, based on the basic treatments, including nutrition support, gastrointestinal decompression, promoting gastric dynamics medicine.Two acupuncture points (Zhongwan and Shenque) were stuck with placebo in control group or patch in treatment group. The intervention course was 14 days or reached the effective standard.
Results:
From July 15, 2013 to Jun 3, 2015, 128 participants were recruited and 120 eligible cases were included in the full analysis set (FAS), and 60 cases in each group. 88 cases were included in the per-protocol set (PPS), including 45 cases in the treatment group and 43 cases in the control group. In the FAS, the clinical effective rate in the treatment group was 68.3%, significantly superior than 41.7% of the control group (
