1.Tuina combined with needling distal points for pseudo-myopia in adolescents
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2015;(3):160-164
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of tuina combine with needling distal points for pseudo-myopia in adolescents. Methods:A total of 64 adolescents with pseudo-myopia were allocated into a treatment group and a control group by the random number table, 32 cases in each group (64 eyes). Cases in the treatment group were treated with tuina combined with needling distal points, whereas cases in the control group were treated with the same tuina method (manipulations, treatment area and time) as those in the treatment group. The treatment was done once a day for 10 d as a treatment course. They were treated for 3 courses and there was a 2-day interval between two courses. After 3 treatment courses, all cases were re-examined for the short-term effect on uncorrected eyesight using the logarithmic visual acuity chart and on diopter using retinophotoscopy. Results:After 3 treatment courses, the visual acuity in both groups was improved. The total effective rate was 92.2% in the treatment group, versus 82.8% in the control group, showing a statistical significance (P<0.05) and indicating a better effect in the treatment group than that in the control group. Conclusion:Tuina combined with needling distal points is remarkably effective for pseudo-myopia in adolescents. Since it doesn’t cause fear (from needling local points around the eyes), it’s easy to be accepted by adolescents and worthy of further clinical application.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy for post-stroke limb sensory disturbance. Methods Ninety patients with post-stroke limb sensory disturbance were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 45 cases each. The treatment group received acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy and the control group, acupuncture alone. The disease and motor function were scored in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the disease score and the motor function score in the two groups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in the disease score and the motor function score between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate was 91.1% in the treatment group and 66.7% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions Acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy is an effective way to treat post-stroke sensory disturbance. It can improve the clinical symptoms and motor function in the patients.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2004;2(3):55-56
One hundred and twenty-four cases of articulations zyqapophysiales discocation of the inferior thoracic vertebra were treated first with Tuina manipulation of rolling-kneading to relax the affected muscles, next with that of tenderness-plucking to relax the tender muscles and next with that of fixed-point oblique-pulling to restore and treat the injured soft tissues and finally with that of palmpressing flatly to adjust the dislocation. The results showed that 94 cases were cured, 21 improved and 9 ineffective after three treatments. The total effective rate was 92.7 %.

Objective To explore the relationship between the distribution of infected snails and transmission of acute schistosomiasis in hilly regions. Methods The data concerning the distribution of the infected snails and acute schistosomiasis in Shitai County,Anhui Province from 1999 to 2008 were collected and analyzed. Results The sehistosome infection rate of human increased as the distance between the settings with infected snails and activity sites of humans shortened. Conclusions Acute infection of schistosome of human is associated with the distance between the settings with infected snails and activity sites of them.Strengthening the measures of snail control in key regions, protecting key populations and carrying out health education for schistosomiasis control are important approaches to control the transmission of acute schistosomiasis in hilly regions.

Objective: To study the effect of the sharp marginal ridge of the abutment on the casting of the fit metal full crown in dental preparation. Methods: We established the models of the designed crown-based-teeth(American Dental Association style,No2 trail) with a sharp or smooth marginal ridge, and cast a metal crown for each model. We injected silicone into the crown and immediately fixed it onto each model. Then we took out the solidified silicone and measured its thickness between the crown and the occlusal face of each model. The thinner the thickness, the better the fitness. Results: The average silicone thickness was 250 ?m in the smooth marginal ridge group and 1 660 ?m in the sharp marginal ridge group, with significant difference in between(P

Objective:To evaluate the performance of two-dimensional fundamental sonosalpingography combined with saline infusion pelvic sonosalpingography(abbreviated as "2DFS+ SIPS" in this article) for assessing fimbrial part′s morphology and function of fallopian tubes. Methods:A total of 246 infertile women were collected from Zhejiang Provincial People′s Hospital from May 2018 to December 2019. They underwent dynamic three-dimensional harmonic sonosalpingography(abbreviated as "4DHS" in this article) first. Cases which were diagnosed as bilaterally tubal obstruction would be excluded. 2DFS+ SIPS was performed in 230 patients. Among them, 21 underwent laparoscopy and dye test(LDT) within 6 months and the results were regarded as golden standard.Results:①Tubes which were diagnosed as complete obstruction would be excluded. The total display rate of remaining fimbrial parts by using 2DFS+ SIPS and 4DHS were 77.4% and 24.0% respectively, which had statistically difference( P<0.001). ②According to 2DFS+ SIPS, fimbrial parts were classified into 3 types: normal, suspected abnormal and abnormal.Normal fimbrial parts accounted for 86.4% while suspected abnormal ones accounted for 13.6% under the condition of patency; abnormal fimbrial parts accounted for 81.2% while suspected abnormal ones accounted for 18.8% under the condition of partial obstruction. The difference in the proportion of normal and abnormal fimbrial parts according to different tubal patency was statistically significant( P<0.001). ③Fimbrial parts were classified into normal (normal fimbrial parts) and abnormal (suspected abnormal and abnormal fimbrial parts) further according to 2DFS+ SIPS, the results were compared with LDT. Accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and Youden′s index were 92.0%, 100%, 88.2%, 80.0%, 100%, 0.88, respectively. The consistency analysis showed the results of 2DFS+ SIPS and LDT were highly consistent (Kappa=0.828). ④All the side effects occured during the procedure or within 30 minutes after the procedure were self-limited.No serious complications were observed. Conclusions:2DFS+ SIPS is a preferred method for assessment of fimbrial part′s morphology and function, with its advantages of non-invasiveness, intuition, and accuracy. This combination could provide objective imaging basis for choosing clinical treatment strategies and predicting prognosis.

Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (NCP) is a class B infectious disease, which is prevented and controlled according to class A infectious diseases. Recently, children′s NCP cases have gradually increased, and children′s fever outpatient department has become the first strategic pass to stop the epidemic. Strengthening the management of the fever diagnosis process is very important for early detection of suspected children, early isolation, early treatment and prevention of cross-infection. This article proposes prevention and control strategies for fever diagnosis, optimizes processes, prevents cross-infection, health protection and disinfection of medical staff, based on the relevant diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control programs of the National Health and Health Commission and on the diagnosis and treatment experience of experts in various provinces and cities. The present guidance summarizes current strategies on pre-diagnosis; triage, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of 2019-nCoV infection in common fever, suspected and confirmed children, which provide practical suggestions on strengthening the management processes of children′s fever in outpatient department during the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic period.
