Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2015;(7):512-516
[Objective]For revealing the definition of the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver ,and its historical evolution. [Method]The definition of the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver and the mainstream view of Yin and Yang of before the Song Dynasty, Song Dynasty and modern is investigated in this paper. The definition of the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver of different periods, different ideological background and different mainstream view of Yin and Yang is clarified by historical investigation. [Result]Because of the influence of Confucius studies, there is not the definition of the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver based on the object of liver in the TCM theory of Han and Tang dynasties. The Yin of liver and the Yang of liver mainly refer to the yin qi and yang qi in the liver. Because of the influence of neo-confucianism, the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver based on the object of liver was established in the TCM theory of Song and Ming dynasties. The Yin of liver and the Yang of liver mainly refer to the body and function of liver. Under the background of modernization of TCM, the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver based on the object of liver was established in the basic theories of TCM. However, there is a controversy of the concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver, because of the effect of modern philosophy and science, ignoring the change of Chinese philosophy. [Conclusion]The clear concept of the Yin of liver and the Yang of liver of different periods, different ideological background and different mainstream views of Yin and Yang will reduce the influence of the fictional historical. Whether in ancient literature research, the liver like zang-fu theory of TCM theory, research, or the modern liver zang-fu theory of TCM, and establishing the theory of Chinese medicine has a positive meaning.

Objective To evaluate the inhibiting effect of selective and non-selective cyclo-oxygenase-2(COX-2) inhibitor on growth of colon cancer cell lines in vitro and its signal transduction pathway. Methods The proliferation of colon cancer cells was determined by MTT assay. COX-2, nuclear factor(NF)-?Bp65, extracellular-signal regulated kinase(ERK), phospho ERK(pERK) protein expressed in colon cancer cell lines were analyzed by Western blot. Activator protein(AP)-1 and NF-?B binding activity influenced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory was detected by electrophoretic mobility sift assay. Results Aspirin and celecoxib could inhibit the proliferation of HT-29, SW480 and LS174-T cells and showed a dose-dependent manner. Western blot analysis showed that expression of COX-2, pERK, NF-?Bp65 protein in colon cancer cells were down-regulated by celecoxib or aspirin in some degree but not effect in total ERK expression. AP-1 and NF-?B binding activity could be stimulated by 20% fetal calf serum or tumor necrosis factor-?. Both aspirin and celecoxib could inhibit fetal calf serum-induced AP-1 activation in HT-29 and SW480 cells. Celecoxib could also inhibit tumor necrosis factor induced NF-?B binding activity, but aspirin had little effects on SW480 cells. Conclusion NSAIDs are able to potentially inhibit the growth of colon cell lines in vitro and the mechanism may relate to AP-1 and NF-?B signal transduction pathway.

Objective To investigate the pathological findings and diagnosis value of CT and MRI in detec-tion of primary centralnervous system lymphoma (PCNSL)so as to improve diagnostic accuracy of the condition. Methods The results of CT and MRI for 32 patients with PCNSL were analyzed retrospectively, and the results were compared with the finally obtained surgical-pathological examination. Results Of 32 cases, the foci were single in 29 cases and multiple in 4 cases, and there were 41 foci in total. Most foci were located near the surface or middle line of brain. On CT scan appearances, most foci were hyperdensity or slightly hyperdensity masses with the well definite margin,on MRI,it showed low signal of T1 -weighted imaging (T1 WI)and slightly increased non-uniform signal of T2 -weighted imaging (T2 WI).All the foci were equally and markedly enhanced after enhancement. The diagnostic coincident rate of combination diagnosis (93.8%)was significantly higher than that of CT (71.9%)and MRI (75.0%)(χ2 =7.234 6,P=0.003 2;χ2 =6.953 8,P=0.003 7).Conclusion CT,MRI have characteristic mani-festation for PCNSL,and according to the manifestation of CT,MRI,predilection site, mass effect, and combined with pathological examination, which can effectively improve the sensitivity and accuracy of diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Digestion 2001;0(03):-
Objective To investigate effects of octreotide combined with aspirin on the growth and metastasis of gastric cancer in vivo. Methods SGC-7901, human gastric cancer cell line, was implanted orthotopically in the stomach of nude mice. Octreotide or aspirin alone and the combination of the two drugs were administrated for 8 weeks to investigate the effects of them on tumor growth and metastasis. Results At necropsy, xenografts in situ were found in all stomachs of nude mice except two nude mice in the combined group. The mean volume and weight of tumors in nude mice treated with octreotide or aspirin were significantly lower than those of control group. The inhibitory rate for tumors was 60.6% in octreotide group, 39.3% in aspirin group and 85.6% in the combined group with octreotide and aspirin respectively. The metastatic rates of gastric adenocarcinoma were markedly lower in any of treatment group than that in control group. No severe side action was observed in all of treatment group. Conclusion Octreotide combined with aspirin greatly enhanced the anti-growth effect on gastric cancer in vivo when compared to using either of them and inhibited the metastasis of gastric adenocarcinoma in nude mice.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 1994;0(02):-
Objective To study the changes of imaging features of rats with implanted liver cancer before and after electrochemotherapy (EChT).Methods Immediate cancerous ascites injection method was used to form rats liver cancer model. The imaging features of rats with implanted liver cancer, including tumor size, density, border, enhancement and singal were observed with CT and MRI respectively. Results The characteristic magings showed all these rats bearing single, round tumor in liver seven days later. Low density lesions were seen in pre contrast scans and tumor border intensification were seen on contrast scans. Low signal lesions were found in MRI T 1WI and high signal lesions were revealed on MRI T 2WI. Seven days after EchT, low density lesions were seen in pre contrast scan and non enhanced appearences were seen in contrast scan by CT. High signal and mixed signal lesion were seen in MRI T 1WI and relative low signal lesion were seen in MRI T 2WI.Conclusions Imaging features analysis is useful to assess the therapeutic effect on rats with implanted liver cancer before and after EChT.
