Objective To discuss CT and MRI manifestations and the differential diagnosis of hepatic tuberculosis.Methods The imaging manifestations of hepatic tuberculosis proved by pathology in 2 cases were analyzed retrospectively with literatures review.The plain and contrast-enhanced CT scans were performed in 2 cases and 1 case underwent plain MRI.Results On plain CT scan,the lesion was non-homogeneous low density with even more low density in the center in 1 case,and nearly isodensity in another case.On contrast-enhanced CT scan,the lesions were no enhancement in arterial phases,and slight enhancement in venous phase and balance phase.In 1 case,slight enhancement was also shown surrounding the necrotic area.On MR plain scan,the lesion demonstrated low signal intensity on T_1WI,iso-and high mixed signal intensity on T_2WI.Conclusion Hepatic tuberculosis is rare seen,so it is easy to misdiagnosis.CT and MRI scanning can demonstrate some features of hepatic tuberculosis,especially dynamic enhanced scanning is very helpful in diagnosis and differential diagnosis.

Objective To explore the CT and MR imaging features and differential diagnosis of the prostate sarcoma.Methods CT and MRI findings of prostate sarcoma in 4 patients confirmed by pathology were retrospectively analyzed with literature review.Results All cases underwent plain CT scan and one case underwent contrast-enhanced CT scan,MR imaging was performed in 2 cases.The prostates were increased obviously in volume,the average anterior-posterior diameter was 60.5 mm in all cases,lobulated heterogeneous low-density with lowest-density in the center and the tumors were undefinitive with surrouding structures in 3 cases,1 case showed oval homogeneous low-density with sharp margin on plain CT scan.On contrast-enhanced CT,the lesions appeared as heterogeneous enhancement in periphery of prostates and no enhanced at the centre.MRI showed heterogeneous hypo-signal intensity on T1WI and miscellaneous slight high-signal intensity at center and hyper-signal intensity at periphery on T2WI.Conclusion CT and MRI are the effective methods in diagnosing the prostatic sarcoma.

Objective To assess whether highly cross-linked polyethylene liners are superior to conventional polyethylene liners in total hip arthroplasty (THA).Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of highly cross-linked and conventional polyethylene liners in THA were retrieved from MEDLINE,PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Central,CBMdisc,CBM,and VIP.Until April 2012,reference lists of the included articles and related reviews were manually searched as supplements.Meta analysis was performed with RevMan 5.1.Mean difference (MD) was used to assess the linear wear rate in highly cross-linked group versus conventional group.Odds ratio (OR) was used to estimate the osteolysis and revision incidence in the two groups.Results Meta analysis indicated that the two-dimensional linear wear rate [MD =-0.08,95％ CI (-0.1,0.06),P ＜ 0.05],three-dimensional linear wear rate [MD=-0.15,95％CI (-0.22,0.08),P＜0.05],volumetric wear rate [MD=-53.03,95％ CI (-84.39,-21.67,P＜0.05],total linear wear [MD=-0.19,95％CI (-0.23,-0.15),P＜0.05],and osteolysis incidence [OR =0.23,95％ C1 (0.13,0.39),P ＜ 0.05] were significantly reduced in highly cross-linked group than in conventional group.There were no statistical differences between the two groups concerning the creep value of the polyethylene liners and revision incidence.Conclusions Highly cross-linked polyethylene liners for primary THA present a low incidence of wear and osteolysis.As the number and quality of the included studies are limited,a long-term follow-up of more large-sample and high-quality RCTs are needed to evidence the outcome.

OBJECTIVE To compare two different observed data from Nov 2003 to Apr 2004 and from Jan 2005 to Dec 2005 on hospital-acquired infection in our hospital and put forward the counterned measures.METHODS The bacteria samples from clinic were cultured.RESULTS The Pseudomonas aerugonosa,Acinetobacter baumannii and Escherichia coli were common strains of bacteria according to the two years data in our hospital.They were 30.35%,18.41% and 8.46% vs 19.74%,17.11% and 14.04%,respectively.The P.aerugonosa infective constituent ratio was decreased(30.35% vs 19.74%,P

To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) treated by needling combined with drug, 104 patients with DPN were randomly divided into acupuncture plus drug group and control group, and each group had 52 patients. After treatment of two months, the clinical effective rate in acupuncture plus drug group was 51.9%, and the total effective rate was 88.5%, both of them were better than those in control group (P＜0.05). The needling method of nourishing the kidney and dredging the meridian combined with drug had good clinic effect in the treatment of DPN.

Objective To establish a stable and reliable model of brain death in swine, and to provide a more stable model for investigating pathomorphology in brain tissue and for studying transplantation immunology during brain death. Methods Base on the classic methodology of increasing epidural intracranial pressure, Codman intracranial pressure moni-toring probes were implanted in landrace pigs invasively. According to the relationship between ICP and MAP, brain death models were established by increasing intracranial pressure slowly and intermittently, with real-time monitoring of the intra-cranial pressure. Results Among twelve experimental landrace pigs, one died from anesthetic accident, while the rest elev-en were successfully established as brain death models. With effective respiratory and circulatory support, those brain death models can be maintained for (31.3 ± 4.7) h. Brain death model establishement is a stable and reliable process demonstrated by transcranial Doppler, EEG, ECG, mean arterial blood pressure and other monitoring methods. After brain death is con-firmed, animal models can be maintained for a long time. Conclusion Our methodology of inducing brain death model un-der ICP monitoring is stable and easy to be standardized. It can also provide a more stable model for studying brain tissue pathomorphology and transplantation immunology.

Objective To evaluate the effects of problem-based learning (PBL) teaching model in medical imaging education in China. Methods Such databases as PubMed, Medline, CNKI, WanFang, VIP Data were electronically searched for literature on PBL versus lecture-based learning (LBL) applied in medical imaging education in China up to April, 2015. According to the strict quality evaluation of the in-cluded studies, meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Results Fourteen studies were included totally. Studies included 1 233 students, of whom the PBL group had 608 cases, while LBL group had 625 cases. Compared with LBL, PBL was superior in medical imaging theoretical scores [WMD=5.22, 95%CI(3.06, 7.37), P=0.000], and the case analysis scores [WMD=6.45, 95%CI(4.77, 8.12), P=0.000]. PBL was also superior in the autonomous learning ability [RR=1.78, 95%CI (1.47, 2.16), P=0.000], the unity cooperation ability [RR=1.42,95%CI (1.25, 1.61), P=0.000] and analysis ability [RR=1.73,95%CI (1.42, 2.11), P=0.000]. There were significant differences between PBL group and LBL group. Conclusion PBL can improve teaching results in medical imaging education.

Objective To reproduce a stable animal model of brain death in pigs, observe the change regularity of cerebral oxygen metabolism during the process of brain death, and to evaluate the significance and value of cerebral oxygen metabolism parameters for the diagnosis of brain death. Methods Twelve landrace pigs were used to create the brain death models using modified method of increasing epidural intracranial pressure (ICP). The mean arterial pressure (MAP) and ICP were monitored continuously during the process. The pigs were divided into four groups according to cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) decreasing degree during brain death, namely CPP normal group and CPP decreasing 0%-30%, 30%-70%, and 70%-100% groups. Blood gas analysis of the external carotid artery and internal jugular vein were monitored discontinuously. The changes in cerebral oxygen metabolism parameters, including external carotid artery-internal jugular vein bulb oxygen content difference (AJDO2), internal jugular bulb-external carotid artery carbon dioxide partial pressure difference (DPCO2) and DPCO2/AJDO2 ratio, were observed. Results Brain death model were successfully reproduced in 12 experimental pigs. With MAP and ICP monitoring, the models at different stages of CPP could be repeatedly induced. The levels of AJDO2 and DPCO2 were increased gradually and then decreased, while the ratio of DPCO2/AJDO2 was constantly increased with the decrease of CPP. The level of AJDO2 in CPP decreasing 0%-30%group was significantly higher than that in CPP normal group [(5.86±1.21)% vs. (3.92±0.64)%], the levels of DPCO2 in CPP decreasing 0%-30% and CPP decreasing 30%-70% groups were significantly higher than those in CPP normal group [mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa): 10.33±1.83, 11.48±2.32 vs. 6.11±1.43], and the ratios of DPCO2/AJDO2 in CPP decreasing 30%-70% and CPP decreasing 70%-100% groups were significantly higher than those in CPP normal group and CPP decreasing 0%-30% group (2.81±0.53, 4.12±1.07 vs. 1.57±0.64, 1.62±0.81). All the differences above were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Conclusions With the decrease of CPP, cerebral oxygen metabolism showed a regular change during brain death. DPCO2 combined with DPCO2/AJDO2 is a reliable blood gas analysis index indicating intracranial hypoperfusion, which has certain reference value for the determination of brain death.

Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of poorly differentiated endocardial sarcoma. Method The clinical data of a child with poorly differentiated endocardial sarcoma was retrospectively analyzed. Results One-year-old girl was admitted for diarrhea, polypnea, cyanosis, and cough. Abnormal heart sound was found by auscultation. Leads Ⅱ, Ⅲ, and aVF of ECG showed high peaked P wave. The diagnosis of poorly differentiated endocardial sarcoma was confirmed by echocardiography and pathology after cardiac operation. Three months after discharge from the hospital, the patient suddenly came into coma and died. Conclusion The diagnosis of poorly differentiated endocardial sarcoma is mainly based on clinical manifestations, echocardiography and pathology. Surgical resection is the first choice and chemotherapy and radiotherapy play a supporting role. However, there is no cure for it currently.

Objective To explore the association of peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1 (PPARGC1) Gly482Ser with apolipoprotein E (ApoE) variations in longevity (aged above 90 yrs) Hans in Guangxi Yongfu and to explore the potential association between the variations and metabolic traits.Methods Based on our survey in Guangxi Yongfu in 2008-2011,212 elderly cases (aged 90～105 years) were included as longevity group and 207 cases without longevity history were included as control group.By household survey,we collected the longevity related parameters,blood glucose,blood lipid,blood pressure and other related metabolic traits.Peripheral blood was collected to extract DNA,the gene variations of Gly482Ser and ApoE were genotyped,and the database with genome and traits information were set up.By univariate analysis and multivariate genetic statistical analysis,the association between the variations and longevity and metabolic traits was assessed.Results Compared with the control group,the levels of fasting blood glucose,total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein were lower in the longevity group.Gly482Ser was genotyped in all samples and fully fulfilled the Hardy Weinberg equilibrium.After the Bonferroni correction,recessive model failed to find association between GG genotype and longevity.Stratified analyses by ApoEε4 allele revealed that,in the subgroup with no ApoEε4,PPARGC-1 GG genotype was positively associated with longevity in the recessive model,even after Bonferroni correction (OR =1.72,P＜0.05).In addition,longevity group with Gly482Ser GG genotype seemed to have relativelower fasting blood glucose (P ＜ 0.05) and higher high density lipoprotein levels (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Longevity Hans in Guangxi Yongfu preserve better metabolic state compared with the control group.GG genotype of Gly482Ser in PPARGC-1 is positively associated with longevity,which depends on not carrying the risk allele of ApoE ε4.
