BACKGROUND:Immortalized cervical epithelial cels H8 can become cancerous under the induction of carcinogenic agent, and may cause cervical cancer when there is a cofactor interaction. However, there is stil a lack of effective intervention for female patients with precancerous lesions, and this treatment is blank in the clinic. OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects and mechanism of astragalus injection on apoptosis of human immortalizedcervical epithelial cels H8. METHODS: This study contained two groups: astragalus drug group and the blank control group. (1) Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect DNA fragments of apoptotic H8 after astragalus injection. (2) Enzyme-labeling instrument was used to analyze the changes in caspase-3 and caspase-9 activities a fter astragalus injection. (3) Western blot assay was used to detect the protein expression changes of caspase-3, caspase-9 and PARP in H8 cels after astragalus injection. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) ELISA results showed that at 0, 6, 12 and 24 hours after 20 g/L astragalus injection, DNA fragments were gradualy increased with time prolonged in a time-dependent effect (P < 0.05). (2) Enzyme-labeling instrument demonstrated that at 0, 6, 12 and 24 hours after 20 g/L astragalus injection, caspase-3 and caspase-9 activities increased in a time-dependent manner (P < 0.05). (3) At 0, 6, 12 and 24 hours after 20 g/L astragalus injection, the expression of cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved caspase-9 were gradualy increased in H8 cels (P < 0.05). Cleaved PARP protein expression was gradualy decreased (P < 0.05). These findings indicate that astragalus injection could obviously induce H8 apoptosis, which may be associated with the upregulated protein expression of caspase-3 and caspase-9.

Objective:To investigate the risk factors of fulminant myocarditis in children. Methods:The clinical data of 67 children with clinical diagnosis of viral myocarditis from January 2015 to December 2018 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. The children were divided into fulminant myocarditis group( n=13)and common myocarditis group( n=54). The clinical data of gender, age, history of pre-infection, clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, electrocardiogram, echocardiography, and imaging findings were compared between the two groups. The multiple Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the independent risk factors of fulminant myocarditis. Results:(1)Seven cases(53.8%)died in the fulminant myocarditis group, 4 cases(30.8%) of them died within 24 hours after admission, and all the children in the common myocarditis group improved and discharged.(2)The incidences of facial cyanosis, abdominal distension, convulsions, and chills were higher in the fulminant myocarditis group than those in the common myocarditis group( P<0.05). (3)The level of creatinekinase-MB, lactate dehydrogenase, α-hydroxybutyric dehydrogenase and aspartate transferase in the fulminant myocarditis group were higher than those in the common myocarditis group( P<0.05). (4)On electrocardiogram, QRS wave duration in the fulminant myocarditis group was longer than that in the common myocarditis group[118(82, 127)ms vs.62(62, 122)ms, P<0.05]. The incidences of ventricular tachycardia in the fulminant myocarditis group was higher than that in the common myocarditis group( P<0.05). (5)In the fulminant myocarditis group, the incidences of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)decreased, the left ventricular short axis fraction shortening(LVFS), and the incidence of left ventricular enlargement were higher than those in the common myocarditis group[92.3%(12/13)vs.18.5%(10/54), 84.6%(11/13)vs.9.3%(5/54), 76.9%(10/13)vs.13.0%(7/54), P<0.05]. Chest X-ray examination of the fulminant myocarditis group showed that the incidences of heart shadow enlargement and pulmonary blood stasis were higher than those in the common myocarditis group( P<0.05). (6)Multiple Logistic regression analysis revealed that LVEF reduction( OR=19.015, 95% CI 1.456-248.348, P=0.025), LVFS reduction( OR=18.691, 95% CI 2.062-169.453, P=0.009)and prolonged QRS wave duration( OR=1.040, 95% CI 1.001-1.082, P=0.046) were independent risk factors for fulminant myocarditis. Conclusion:The early mortality of fulminant myocarditis is high in children, and the LVEF reduction, LVFS reduction and prolonged QRS wave duration are independent risk factors for fulminant myocarditis.

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of treating external iliac artery dissection in renal transplantation by artificial vascular replacement. Methods:Four sudden intraoperative cases of external iliac artery dissection were selected. After removing vascular sutures, intimal arterial peeling blocked external iliac artery( n=3)and transplanted renal artery( n=1). Artificial vascular replacement of external iliac artery was performed using artificial vessels made from puffed polytetrafluoride ethylene(ePTFE). Secondary perfusion was performed in four transplanted kidneys for anastomosing with internal iliac artery. Results:One patient regained normal renal function within 1 week post-operation.Two cases had delayed graft function.Another case had delayed graft function plus acute rejection. After hemodialysis, renal function normalized at 2-3 weeks post-operation.During a follow-up period of(0.5-5.0)years, transplanted kidney function remained stable, blood supply, skin temperature and movement of operated lower extremities normalized. Conclusions:The incidence of vascular dissection of external iliac artery is not high during renal transplantation. However, the disease has a rapid and dangerous progression. The consequences of delayed intervention are quite serious.Treating external iliac artery dissection with renal transplantation may achieve satisfactory clinical outcomes.

Objective:To explore the risk factors for lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients with a spinal cord injury (SCI).Methods:The medical records of 276 hospitalized SCI patients were analyzed retrospectively. They were divided into a DVT group ( n=63) and a no-DVT group ( n=213). Gender, age, blood type, smoking history, surgical history, the time from SCI to admission, cause of SCI, fracture, SCI segments, American Spinal Cord Injury Association grade and complications were compared between the two groups. Binomial logistic regression was used to isolate the risk factors for lower extremity DVT among such patients. Results:Among 84% of the 63 with a lower extremity DVT, it was a calf muscle venous thrombosis. Anemia, hyponatremia and time from SCI to admission (which ranged from 74 to 195 days) were the most serious DVT risk factors. Conclusions:SCI patients are of high risk for DVT, with anemia and hyponatremia being independent risk factors.

Steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) has been widely used in the research of brain-computer interface (BCI) system in recent years. The advantages of SSVEP-BCI system include high classification accuracy, fast information transform rate and strong anti-interference ability. Most of the traditional researches induce SSVEP responses in low and middle frequency bands as control signals. However, SSVEP in this frequency band may cause visual fatigue and even induce epilepsy in subjects. In contrast, high-frequency SSVEP-BCI provides a more comfortable and natural interaction despite its lower amplitude and weaker response. Therefore, it has been widely concerned by researchers in recent years. This paper summarized and analyzed the related research of high-frequency SSVEP-BCI in the past ten years from the aspects of paradigm and algorithm. Finally, the application prospect and development direction of high-frequency SSVEP were discussed and prospected.
