Objective To explore the effects of Yishen Capsule on the soluble endothelium protein C receptor (sEPCR) and P-selectin (CD62P) as well as the serum levels of immunoglobulin (Ig) and complement 3 (C3) in patients with chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN). Methods The changes of sEPCR and CD62P levels in plasma as well as Ig and C3 levels in serum were assessed in 40 normal subjects and 78 patients before and after treatment by double-antibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, flow cytometry and immunoturbidimetry, respectively. Results Compared with those in normal group before treatment, the levels of sEPCR and CD62P in plasma as well as IgA in serum increased obviously (P<0.01), and the levels of IgG and IgM as well as C3 in serum decreased significantly in CGN patients (P<0.01). After three months' treatment with Yishen Capsule, the levels of sEPCR and CD62P in plasma and IgA in serum decreased significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and the levels of IgG and IgM in plasma as well as C3 in serum increased obviously (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The mechanism of Yishen Capsule's effect in treating patients with CGN may be correlated with decreasing sEPCR and CD62P levels in plasma as well as regulating the levels of Ig in serum and C3.

Preoperative diagnosis of biliary obstruction mainly depends on imaging examination.Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) is a common method in detecting biliary obstruction.PTC combined with computed tomography (CT) could enhance the diagnostic rate. From April 2009 to April 2011,8 patients with biliary obstruction were admitted to the Shenzhen Hospital of Peking University.Contrast solution (30 ml of iodine solution at a concentration of 1.5% -2.0%)was injected through a PTC tube, and then CT scan was performed. An iohexol contrast solution at a concentration of 300 mgl/ml was injected at a dosage of 1.5 ml/kg and at 3-5 ml/s,then the arterial phase, venous phase and delayed phase were scanned. The original data were uploaded to Vitrea 2 workstation for multiplane reconstruction, maximum intensity projection and volume rendering. The procedure was successfully performed on all patients, and the position of the biliary obstruction was identified in 7 patients.Five patients were diagnosed as with hilar cholangiocarcinoma,1 with sclerosing cholangitis and 2 with adenoma of the distal common bile duct. The patients' symptoms were alleviated after percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the impact of repeated data acquisition on the stability of NIR quantitative calibration model, and make a preliminary analysis on reasons for the impact.
METHODYinhuang decoction was used as the subject, and NIR spectrum samples were collected. By reference to HPLC's determination value, the baicalin quantitative calibration model was established by using recursive least square algorithm to detect cumulative-LVs curve of latent variables. The impact of calibration model caused by repetitive samples was explained in latent variance space.
RESULTAfter averaging the repetitive spectrum samples, quantitative prediction model, which was built by optimal method of spectrum pretreatment, showed the ideal prediction result (RMSECV = 1.824). The area under the cumulative-LVs curve of latent variables was obviously larger than other modeling methods, i. e., this model is more stable.
CONCLUSIONAveraging of multiple measurements can dramatically improve the predictive ability of the model and make the model more stable.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of Qufengtongluo Recipe (QFTLR) on the expressions of cell cycle regulatory proteins in rat mesangial cells (MCs) in vitro and investigate the mechanism by which QFTLR inhibits MC proliferation.
METHODSUsing the methods of serum pharmacology, we studied the expressions of cell cycle regulatory proteins in rat MCs treated with QFTLR by laser scanning confocal microscope and immunohistochemistry.
RESULTSCompared with the normal control cells, the cells challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) showed significantly enhanced expressions of cyclin D1, CDK2, and P21 (P<0.01) and obviously lowered protein expression of P27 (P<0.01). Treatment of the LPS-challenged cells with QFTLR and benazepril both resulted in significantly attenuated expressions of cyclin D1, CDK2, and P21 and obvious increase of P27 expression (P<0.05 or P<0.01), but QFTLR produced stronger effects than benazepril in regulating of cyclinD1, P21 and P27 protein expressions (P<0.05 or P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONQFTLR inhibits rat MC proliferation in vitro possibly by down-regulating the cellular expressions of cyclin D1, CDK2, and P21 and up-regulating the expression of P27 protein.

This patient was a 47-year female who underwent carinal resection and reconstruction because of left main bronchial mucoepidermoid carcinoma. She underwent four cycles chemotherapy when recovering from surgery because of subcarinal lymph node metastasis. However, the patient suffered from recurred productive cough and dyspnea during chemotherapy. Bronchoscopic assessment revealed stenosis at the reconstructed carina and left main bronchus five months after surgery. The granulation tissues of the left main bronchus showed no evidence of cancer recurrence. After repeated bronchoscopic resection of granulation tissue combined with bronchial stent placement, the left main bronchial stenosis gradually worsened with granulation tissue growth. Three acid-fast bacilli were found in the granulation tissue harvested ten months after surgery. The reason of postoperative bronchostenosis was confirmed as endobronchial tuberculosis, and antitubercular agents were added. Unfortunately, she had persistent left main bronchostenosis due to irreversible destruction and left pulmonary atelectasis thereafter. Therefore, for the recurring anastomotic granulomas after tracheobronchial reconstruction, the possibility of tuberculosis infection should be considered.
