1.Anti-mite Activity and Skin Safety of Herba taraxaci Extract for Demodex folliculorum

Objective To test the in vitro effect of the extract of Herba taraxaci on Demodex folliculorum. Methods Active Demodex folliculorum were obtained from patients with moderate to severe demodex infestation. Herba taraxaci and Radix stemonae were extracted respectively with 80% ethanol under 85℃, and a preparation with a concentration of 200mg/ml was made. The extractions were used in vitro to examine the anti-mite activity by observing time of killing mites. Physiological saline and Radix stemonae extraction served as blank control and positive control respectively. PH value of Herba Taraxaci extract was noted. Skin irritation test of normal and wounded skin and acute toxicity test were carried out with rabbit shin, and Herba taraxaci and 75% ethanol were served as experiment and control medicine. Results Motion and morphology of the mites considerably changed with the effect of Herba taraxaci extract. 4.Effect of transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization on liver cancer patients with portal vein tumor thrombus

Objective To explore the effect of transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization(TACE)between different types of liver cancer patients with portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT).Methods 413 liver cancer patients with PVTT were divided into two groups,TACE(332 cases)group and control group(81 cases);To compare the survival rate and the curative effect of two group.Results Survival rate in the TACE group of 3 months,6 months,12 months,24 months were 93.4%,71.7%,44.9%,24.4%,in the control group 3 months,6 months,12 months,24 months survival rate were 24.7%,2.5%,0,0.The difference has statistical significance(P<0.01).In the TACE group,type Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ of PVTT patients treatmented with TACE also has different survival rate and different curative effect(P<0.01).Conclusion TACE treatment is particularly effective for type Ⅰ,type Ⅱ and type Ⅲ patients of PVTT.
5.Zoonotic trematode species identified in domestic animals from Huainan area

Objective To understand the zoonotic trematode species identified in domestic animals from Huainan area,An-hui Province,so as to supply the evidence for the prevention of zoonoses. Methods The livestock/definitive hosts were commer-cially available on category basis,and sacrificed for obtaining the parasitic samples via dissecting the viscera. The specimens were microscopically identified,with reference to the descriptions in the previous literature. Results By identification,sorting and classification,41 species of internal trematodes were found so far in the domestic animals fed in Huainan areas,in which 23 spe-cies were zoonotic trematodes and 18 were internally parasitic in livestock,belonging to 4 orders,12 families and 21 genera,and occurred in 9 definitive hosts including chicken,ducks,geese,pigs,cattle,buffaloes,sheep,goats and dogs,respectively. Con-clusion The findings suggest that the zoonotic trematodes belong to many kinds and prevalent in the domestic animals in Huainan areas,and such prevalence should call for high attention since it is urgent risk factors for zoonoses in this geographic area.
