Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(09):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of serum procalcitonin (PCT) in the diagnosis and differentiation of bacterial infections in the critically ill patients. Methods A total of 53 critical patients were divided into bacterial infection group and non-bacterial infection group. Serum PCT was measured by immunoluminometric assay. Results PCT of bacterial infection group was significantly higher than that in non-bacterial infection group (?~2=0.05, P

Objective:To discuss the important significance of the archival management for special equipment of hospital, and to ensure life safety of employee and patients of hospital. Methods: Through summarized practice experience in work, the content, existed problem, the relative management activity and solution of archival management of special equipment of hospital were analyzed and researched. Results: The development of archives management for special equipment of hospital must comply with the development of era. The traditional thinking model of management for equipment archival was transformed. And the advancedtechnique was applied to constantly improve and update the archival management of special equipment of hospital. And then the classification management, standard preventions and working process achieved more standardization, more science and more preciseness. Conclusion:The improved archival management of special equipment can ensure special equipment to play its due role in the diagnosis and treatment of hospital.

Microbiology 1992;0(05):-
The identification and classification of Thermus to Thermales is revie wed. Up to now, the order Thermales is consist of only one family Thermaceae, w h ich includes 4 genera with 14 valid species about 50 strains, and with 4 unvalid spcecies and more than 50 strains unidentified. The morphology, physiology, G+ C mol%, DND hybridization, fatty acid components, 16S rRNA alignment and secondar y structure analyses have been tools for the taxonomy of Thermales.

Thyptase,a predominant serine protease in mast cells,is released by mast cell degranulation in an enzymatically active form.Recent research suggests that ttyptase plays important roles in mast cell mediated anaphylaxis, angiogenesis, initiation and promotion of neoplasm. This paper reviews tryptase's struture, molecular biology, biochemistry, processing, activation and its relationship with diseases.
7. Over-expressing root-specific β-amyrin synthase gene increases glycyrrhizic acid content in hairy roots of glycyrrhiza uralensis
Chinese Herbal Medicines 2019;11(2):192-199
Objsective: Glycyrrhizia uralensis, one of the most widely-used traditional Chinese medicines, is mainly cropped in China. However, many cultivars are less in glycyrrhizic acid than Chinese Pharmacopoeia requires. In this paper, we improved glycyrrhizic acid by regulating β-amyrin synthase gene (GuBAS). Methods: Tobacco root-specific promoter TobRB7 and GuBAS cDNA were obtained and combined with linearized pCAMBIA1305.1 to construct root-specific plant expression vector which was later transformed into Agrobacterium rhizogenes ACCC10060 by electrotransformation. The cotyledons and hypocotyls of G. uralensis were infected by the recombinant A. rhizogenes ACCC10060 to induce hairy roots. The GA content was quantified by HPLC. Results: The PCR and sequencing results both showed that three transgenic hairy root lines were obtained. The copy number of GuBAS in these transgenic hairy roots was intended by qRT-PCR to be 3, 7, and 4. GA was detected by HPLC, and the results showed that GA was present in the three transgenic hairy roots, while absent in wild hairy roots. Conclusion: Over-expressing GuBAS root-specifically in hairy roots of G. uralensis enhanced GA accumulation.

Objective To evaluate the effects of isoflurane anesthesia on NR1 expression and neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampus and cortex of adult rats .Methods Thirty-six adult male Sprague-Dawley rats , weighing 250-280 g ,were randomly assigned into 3 groups using a random number table :control group (group C , n=6 ) ,O2 inhalation group (group O , n=6 ) and isoflurane anesthesia group (group I , n=24 ) .The rats were exposed to 2% isoflurane (group I) ,to pure oxygen (group O) ,or to air (group C) for 2 h .At 2 h ,and 1 ,7 and 14 days after the rats were awake (T1-4 ) ,Morris water maze test was performed .The rats were then sacrificed and brains were removed for isolation of the hippocampus and cortex .NR1 expression was detected using SABC immuno-histochemical technique and neuronal apoptosis was determined using TUNEL .Results Compared with group C , the escape latency at T2 and total swimming distance at T1 ,2 were significantly prolonged , and the expression of NR1 in hippocampi was down-regulated at T1 ,2 in group I ,and the expression of NR1 in the cortex was down-regulated in O and I groups ( P<0.05) .There was no significant difference in the apoptosis index between the three groups ( P> 0.05 ) .Conclusion Isoflurane anesthesia can decrease the cognitive function transiently ,which is related to inhibition of up-regulation of NR1 expression in the hippocampi ,but not related to neuronal apoptosis in adult rats .

Objective To study the effectiveness of subfascial endoscopic communicating branch vein ablation in treating communi cating branch vein insufficiency. Methods Fifty-seven cases of primary lower ext remity vein valve insufficiency complicated by communicating vein insufficiency diagnosed by venography and color duplex were treated with subfascial endoscopic communicating branch vein ablation, and their information was analyzed retrosp ectively. Results Swelling was observed in leg of 7 cases after operation, and disappeared within one week spontaneously. Incision infec tion occurred in 2 cases and skin ambustion happened in 2 cases. Superficial vei n varicosis disappeared in all case, skin pigmentatin declined significantly and ulcers healed in 2-3 weeks. Conclusion Subfascial endoscopic communicating branch vein ablation is an excellent choice in treating communicating branch ve in insufficiency.

China Pharmacy 2007;0(31):-
OBJECTIVE: To discuss the economic benefits of pharmaceutical care after hospital drug price addition has been cancelled. METHODS: To analyze the way to create economic benefits from hospital pharmaceutical services in China by drawing experiences from developed countries. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: Canceling of hospital drug price addition is conducive to the increase of the status of pharmacists. Medical institutions can profit from extending pharmaceutical services.
