Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To study the corrosion resistance of four metal-ceramic alloys in the presence of Streptococcus sobrinus, and to compare the effects of bacteria action in liquid and solid environment. Methods:Four metal-ceramic alloys were exposured to BHIA or BHI media with or without Streptococcus sobrinus and served as different groups. After inoculating 10 weeks, their I_ corr ,E_ corr ,E_ tp through cyclic polarization curves were obtained through Corrview 2 corrosion analyses software;and their surface changes after electrochemical corrosion were observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM).Results:The E_ corr of four alloys were decreased in presence of oral microorganism, and the declines were more remarkable in BHI with bacteria. SEM observation showed the pittings in their surface. The corrosion resistance in BHI without bacteria were significant increased than that in the blank control. Conclusion:Streptococcus sobrinus can promote the corrosion behavior of metal-ceramic alloys and the corrosion resistance is more worse in BHI than BHIA with bacteria.

Glycoprotein of Chlamys ( Azumapecten ) farreril ( GCFI) was prepared from the skirt of scallop Chlamys (Azumapecten)farreri by extraction with hot water, isolation and purification with column chromatography "on DEAE-cellulose and Sephadex G-100 successively. GCFI was hydrolyzes with enzymes to obtain glycoprotein of Chlamys (Azumapecten)farreri IKGCFID-The chemical composition and antitumor activity of GCFI and GCFII were studied. The result showed that GCFI and GCFII were two glycoproteins in which the composition and content of protein and sugar were different. They could obviously inhibit Sarcoma 180 cells proliferation of mice with the inhibition rate of 47. 29% and 46. 97%,respectively. Pharmacological test indicated that antitumor activity of GCFI and GCFII were associated with the structure of sugar in the molecules.

Objective: To evaluate effect of the morphology of simulated S-shaped root canals with Reciproc or Mtwo instruments on root canal irrigation. Methods: A total of 40 simulated S-shaped resin blocks were randomly divided into 2 groups (n=20), which was prepared by Reciproc or Mtwo. Blue ink was injected with constant speed and volume into the canals using 30G lateral opening syringe. hTe distance from needle tip to apex and vapor lock length were measured. A type of 25# 0.04 gutta-percha point was used to stir and remove the vapor lock. hTe time for removal of the vapor lock was recorded. Another syringe was used to inject saline into the canals and to measure the length of stagnant water. Results: hTe distance from needle tip to apex in the Reciproc group was signiifcantly longer than that in the Mtwo group [(4.276 ± 0.221) mm vs (3.459 ± 0.205) mm,P<0.05]. The vapor lock length in the Reciproc group was signiifcantly longer than that in the Mtwo group [(4.472 ± 0.230) mm vs (3.668±0.217) mm,P<0.05]. hTe time to remove vapor lock was signiifcantly shorter in the Reciproc group than that in the Mtwo group [(10.13 ± 1.79) s vs (15.29 ± 2.15) s,P<0.05]. The length of stagnant water was also shorter in the Reciproc group than that in the Mtwo group[(1.351 ± 0.142) mm vs (2.245 ± 0.206) mm,P<0.05]. Conclusion: hTe morphology of S-shaped root canal affects the root canal irrigation. hTe effect of root canal irrigated by Reciproc is better than that by Mtwo.
