Objective:To analyzise the upper removable partial denture for Kennedy Ⅰdentition defect how to affects the consonants acoustic characteristics. Methods: Before and after restoration use the computer speech lab(CSL) to analyze 12 patients' acoustic characteristics. Then at 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks, to compare each patient different time's area of energy concentration, the first area of energy concentration band width of consonants /s/,/sh/,/j/; the locus of /t/. Results:There was significant difference between the area of energy concentration and the first area of energy concentration band width in /s/ of the groups before restoration and at the beginning and after one week(P0.05) in other consonants groups. Conclusion: The main area which affects the acoustic characteristics is the anterior part of the anterior palate plate of the removable partial denture. From the acoustics point of view, to lay the major connector on the upper gingival, the median line area are not suitable, while the posterior part of the hard palate fitting to lay it.

Objective To study the best multiple concentration of target controlled infusion of propofol and remifentanil in elderly patients during the induction of general anesthesia. Methods Fifty elderly patients were randomized into five groups, according to the effect site concentration of remifentanil (0, 2, 4, 6, 8 ng/mL). We started the effect site concentration of propofol (PEC) at 2 μg/mL, and added 1 μg/mL every 2 min until bispectral index (BIS) was stable at 40±5. During the induction,we recorded the effect site concentration of remifentanil (REC) and propofol (PEC), heart rate (HR), arterial blood pressure (ABP), BIS, AAI, and isolated forearm technique (IFT). After statistic analysis, the best multiple concentration was judged. Results There was no significant difference (P<0.05) in the changes of hypertension and hypotension among these five groups during intubation. The most smooth hemodynamic conditions were found in group B, i.e. 20% and 10%, respectively. When consciousness was lost, there was a negative correlation between PEC and REC. Group B was the minimum on the change of IFT and the cardiovascular system among these five groups at tracheal intubation. Conclusions It is safe and stable to use REC 2 μg/mL for TCI, combined with propofol in elderly patients under general anesthesia. PEC is (3.5±0.8)μg/mL when the patients' consciousness is lost. And PEC is 5.3 μg/mL at tracheal intubation.

Objective To investigate the triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1(TREM-1) of cord blood leukocytes in neonates and the transcription level of mRNA, and analyze its promoting function of inflammatory cytokine secretion. Methods During the period from September 2013 to March 2014, cord blood was collected from 20 term neonates at the time of birth, and peripheral blood was collected from 20 healthy adults. The expression of TREM-1 and TREM-1 mRNA on leukocytes was observed using flow cytometry and real-time reverse transeription-polymerase chain reaction, respectively. After the whole cord blood was stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or LP17 plus LPS, the contents of interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), IL-8 and soluble TREM-1 (sTREM-1) in the supernatant were analyzed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The statistical significance was determined using the one-way ANOVA test, t test, q test and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results The mean fluorescence intensity of TREM-1 on leukocytes of newborns was not different compared with healthy adults (P>0.05), while the percentage of TREM-1 positive on polymorphonuclear cells was lower than that of healthy adults [(82.3±7.1)% vs (98.6±4.8)%, P<0.05]. The level of TREM-1 mRNA in newborns was lower than in healthy adults (1.16±0.13 vs 1.63±0.24, t=7.714, P<0.01). The LPS treatment significantly increased sTREM-1 in newborn whole blood compared with the control treatment [(156.7±36.3) vs (34.6±6.1) pg/ml, t=13.623, P<0.01]. The concentration of IL-6, TNF-αand IL-8 decreased significantly when TREM-1 was blocked by LP17. In addition, the concentration of sTREM-1 showed a positive correlation with the levels of TNF-α(r=0.519, P<0.05), IL-6 (r=0.507, P<0.05) and IL-8 (r=0.538, P<0.05). Conclusions Healthy newborns exhibit expression of TREM-1 on monocytes similar to healthy adults, and most PMNs express TREM-1 at the newborn stage. Blocking the TREM-1 signal transduction pathway may reduce inflammatory responses of neonate leukocytes.

To enhance the production of ε-poly-L-lysine (ε-PL) by improving dissolved oxygen level of the fermentation system, different oxygen-vectors were added to broth and n-dodecane was screened as the best oxygen-vector. The best amount of n-dodecane was 0.5% (V/V) and the best time was at start of the fermentation. In a fed-batch fermentation in a 5 L bioreactor, ε-PL concentration reached a maximum of (30.8 ± 0.46) g/L and the dry cell weight obtained was (33.8 ± 0.29) g/L, increasing by 31.6% and 20.7% compared with the control group, respectively. This improvement can be related to 0.5% n-dodecane could maintain dissolved oxygen concentration > 32% of air concentration compared with 23.8% in ε-PL production phase, and the production of a main by-product, poly-L-diaminopropionic acid, fell by 31%. These results indicated that the dissolved oxygen level in the broth was improved by adding n-dodecane, which can inhibit the by-product production and improve the biosynthesis of ε-PL.

We retrospectively analyzed clinical and imaging data of 26 children with split cord malformations (SCMs). Based on Pang's classification, 14 SCMs were defined as type Ⅰ and 12 as type Ⅱ.Neural function was markedly improved in 20 patients postoperatively. Three of 4 children who did not undergo surgical treatment had neural function deteriorated. Two children lost follow-up. We suggest that Pang's Classification of SCMs may be useful in describing pathological changes and guiding surgical procedure; imaging examine (including MRI, CT and X-ray) would play a significant role in confirmed SCMs diagnosis; and surgical operation should focus on eliminate and prevent spinal cord damnification.
