Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2016;23(10):127-131
Depression in modern medicine belongs to the depression syndrome in TCM. As early as the pre-Qin period, the ancient doctors recognized depression syndrome as a kind of disease associated with the function of visceral organs or emotional stimulation, which showed mood disorders and a variety of physical symptoms. The doctors in the past dynasties had explored different kinds of non-medicine therapies except for general medicine therapies, such as acupuncture and moxibustion, tuina, music and emotional therapy etc., which had obtained definite therapeutic effects. This article reviewed the non-medicine therapies for depression syndrome in ancient literatures and modern clinical researches, in order to provide some references for the treatment of depression.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of transplantation of human fetal liver-delivered mesenchymal stem cells(HFMSCs) and porous microcarries into normal heart tissue and whether it can improve heart function and regeneration of heart tissue. Methods SD rats were divided into HFMSCs injection group(n=9),microcarrier injection group(n=9) and control group(n=4),in which 80-100 ?l Perfadex with HFMSCs or gelatin porous microcarriers or pure Perfadex was injected into the wall of left ventricle.Heart function was evaluated by UCG before and 7 d after transplantation. On day 7,14,the survival of HFMSCs was tested by fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH),regeneration or cardiac differentiation by immunohistological staining against desmin, tropomyosin and lectin, cellular immune response by the infiltration of macrophages, and lymphocyte reaction to HFMSCs by mixed lymphocyte culture(MLC) in vitro. Results Seven days after injection, the HFMSCs survived and improved the heart function, though no sign of differentiation into cardiomyocytes was seen.On day 14,a large amount of macrophages infiltrated into injection sites, and MLC showed prominent enhancement of proliferation of lymphocytes, when no transplanted cells were detected in the myocardium. On day 7,14,the microcarriers retained their round shape at the injection sites and were attatched by a large quantity of cells which were proven not cardiomyocytes or capilaries by immunohistological staining. Conclusion Transplantation of HFMSCs into normal heart improves heart function by short-period survival without differentiation, but the transplanted cells disappeared because of immune reaction.Transplantation of porous microcarriers into normal heart could not improve heart function either by regeneration of heart tissue or capilaries.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2017;33(1):78-84
[Summary] Extracellular calcium is essential for the regulation of a variety of biological processes. Calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) plays a central role in maintaining Ca2+ homeostasis, while G-protein α-11 (Gα11 ) subunit and adaptor-related protein complex 2 sigma (AP2σ) are also involved in CaSR signaling transduction. Loss- or gain-of-function mutations of these encoding genes cause different types of familial hypocalciuric hypercalcaemia (FHH) and autosomal dominant hypocalcaemia (ADH). Calcimimetic and calcilytic drugs are useful in treating these FHH and ADH disorders. The current paper is a Chinese translation of a review entitled as “Disorder of the calcium-sensing receptor and partner proteins: insights into the molecular basis of calcium homeostasis” published in 《 Journal of Molecular Endocrinology》(2016,57:R127-R142) with the permission from the author and the journal.

China Oncology 2017;27(1):14-19
Background and purpose:Lung cancer is the leading cause of morbidity and cancer-related mortality worldwide. A variety of driver genes were detected in lung cancer. Studies have shown that different gene mutations of lung cancer were found between different races. Most of Uyghurs live in Xinjiang, accompanied by a high morbidity of lung cancer. This study aimed to investigate the expression of driver genes in Uyghur patients with lung cancer in Xinjiang, China. Methods:This study collected the tissue specimens of 43 Uyghur patients with lung cancer, with a very different method to detectEGFR gene expression. real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RTFQ-PCR) was used to detectK-ras,ALK,ROS1, mutatedBRAF andPIK3CA gene expression. Analysis of the correlation between lung cancer gene mutations in Uyghur and clinical features of patients with lung cancer were performed. Results:Among 43 cases of specimens,EGFR mutation rate was 11.63%, while theEGFR gene mutation rates in adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma were 26.67% and 4.76%, respectively.EGFR gene mutation was not detected in large cell carcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma and small cell lung cancer.EGFR gene mutation rate in patients with adenocarcinoma (26.67%) was signiifcantly higher than that in other types of lung cancer (3.57%). The difference was statistically signiifcant (P=0.024). There were 6 patients withK-ras12/13 heterozygous mutation, and the mutation detection rate was 16.28% (6/43). There were 2 patients withPIK3CA heterozygous mutation, and the mu-tation detection rate was 4.65% (2/43).EGFR andK-ras mutations occurred simultaneously in 1 case. No relationship was found betweenEGFR mutations and age, gender, smoking status, TNM staging, ECOG score among Uyghur lung cancer patients. This study did not ifnd mutation inALK,ROS1 fusion gene andBRAF gene among the 43 specimens. Conclusion:Compared with Asian populations, Xinjiang Uyghur patients with lung cancer have a lower rate ofEGFR mutations and a higher rate ofK-ras mutations, which is similar to the characteristics of European Caucasians.
