1.Prevention and treatment of post-prostatectomy incontinence
China Oncology 2014;(3):231-234
Postoperative incontinence is one of the most feared complications of radical prostatectomy with a major impact on patients’ quality of life. There are several ways to treat with the incontinence including pelvic lfoor muscle training and medication as the conservative treatment, nerve-sparing approach during the operation and the urethral sling and the artificial urinary sphincter placement as the operative treatment. The aim of this article is to evaluate the treatment stated above to provide some guidance to deal with post-prostatectomy incontinence.

2-(Dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and sodium monochloroacetate were employed to synthesize [2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl] dimethyl ammonium acetate (CBMA) functional monomer.CBMA was grafted on the surface of silica by surface initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) to obtain silica-CBMA hydrophilic interaction stationary phase.Three silica-CBMA stationary phases with different grafted density of CBMA monomer were synthesized in SI-ATRP progress by changing the concentration of CBMA under the same conditions. The ability to separate organic acid compounds of the synthesized silica-CBMA stationary phases was evaluated under different conditions, including effects of pH value, salt concentration and content of water of mobile phase on retention of solutes. The results showed that the stationary phases could effectively separate organic acid compounds in HILIC mode, which followed a mixed mode of chromatography of ion exchange and hydrophilic interaction. The retention of solutes decreased with the increases of salt concentration of mobile phase, which consistent with the characteristics of ion exchange;the pH value of mobile phase had significant influence on ionization of the stationary phase and solutes, i.e., the retention of solutes increased as the increasing of pH value of mobile phase. However, the retention of solutes decreased with the increasing of the content of water in mobile phase, which was the typical characteristic of HILIC.The method of hydrophilic interaction chromatography combined with silica-CBMA stationary phases could conveniently determinate the content of vitamin C and rutin in rutin tablets, providing a new method for the separation and determination of strong polar samples.

Pyuria, pain and hematuria are the predominant symptoms in urologic diseases. Among them hematuria is the most important complaint referable to the urinary tract in both children and adults Accordingly, hematuria should never be ignored, and no matter how trivial the bleeding a complete urologic investigation into itscause is mandatory. A statistical survey was made on hematuria of the in-patientsin the Department of Urology at ST. Mary's Hospital, during the two years from August 1966 to July 1968 and the following results were obtained. 1. During that period. out of 437 cases who were hospitalized, 246 cases(179 males and 67 females) had hematuria, giving a rate of 5t percent (gross: 24 percent, micro-hematuria: 30 percent) 2. More than 70 percent of all the cases of hematuria processed were found to be calculus, tumor and tuberculosis of the genitourinary tract. 3. Most frequent incidences of hematuria 'were shown to be trauma in children, while calculus, tuberculosis and tumor in young and middle aged group, and tumor in old aged group as well. 4. Among 141 cases of micro-hematuria, grade I showed 78 cases(55 percent) 5. The location of bleeding in 1O5 cases of gross hematuria was in the kidney by 40 percent, bladder, ureter and urethra in that order of frequency.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1982;18(1):63-67
2 Cases of primary lymphoma of brain are reported with brief review of literatures. Preoperative CT scans were performed and the correct diagnoses were made by operative biopsy. Initially the tumor masses were located in the periventricular white matter, in both cases. CT scans showed slightly high density areas with homogenous contrast enhancement. After local irradiation, these lesions disappeared completely. But soon after, well circumscribed homogenous contrast enhancing mass lesions recurred in the cerebellum.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2018;16(1):21-27
Objective: By taking the holism and differentiation concepts of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as the guidance, physical, mental and workplace factors were recruited in the observation of depression in employees, and were systematically classified to establish a workplace-related Liver Meridian-depression scale, for providing an evaluation index for depression in employees. Methods: NVIVO 11 software was adopted to assort ancient TCM classics. Based on the holism and differentiation concepts of TCM and well-developed scales, the item pool was determined via brain storm and screened by Delphi method after classified; a Wechat questionnaire was handed out 240 times via the online system 'Wen Juan Xing', and the results were statistically analyzed by the SPSS 17.0 version software. Results: Five dimensions consisting of 80 items were obtained after classification, and 60 items were selected by Delphi method; a total of 216 questionnaires were returned and the return rate was 90%. Of which, 215 questionnaires were valid ones, and the valid rate was 99%. By exploratory factor analysis (EFA), 44 items were obtained, and the aggregate split-half reliability coefficient was 0.922. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the five dimensions, i.e. Liver Meridian, relevant meridians, basic psychological activities, work cognition and emotional reactions, was respectively 0.841, 0.842, 0.914, 0.836 and 0.839, indicating a content internal consistency. The score of each item was highly correlated with the corresponding dimension, and the intercommunity was between 0.474 and 0.801. Nine factors were generated, 2 in the dimension of Liver Meridian, 3 in the dimension of relevant meridians, 2 in the dimension of basic psychological activities, 1 in the dimension of work cognition, and 1 in the dimension of emotional reactions, and the load of each factor was between 0.438 and 0.859. The reliability and validity of the scale were well examined. Conclusion: The scale can be applied to evaluate the qi activities of Liver Meridian and depression symptoms related to workplace.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of heterogenous suberect spatholobus stem (Spatholobus suberectu, Mucuna birdwoodiana, Millettia oosperma and Millettia dielsiana) on peripheral blood cell counts of mice with bone marrow suppression induced by (60)Co gamma ray irradiation. METHODS: Bone marrow suppression was induced by sublethal dose of (60)Co gamma ray in mice. White blood cell (WBC), red blood cell (RBC) and platelet (PLT) counts in peripheral blood of the mice were detected one day, 3, 7, 14 and 21 days after intragastric administration of different doses of the four kinds of suberect spatholobus stem, respectively. RESULTS: A slowdown of the decrease of WBC, RBC and PLT counts in peripheral blood of the mice with bone marrow suppression was observed after intragastric administration. The WBC, RBC and PLT counts in the Mucuna birdwoodiana-treated and Spatholobus suberectu-treated groups were significantly higher than those in the untreated group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: All the four kinds of heterogenous suberect spatholobus stem can accelerate the recovery of WBC, RBC and PLT counts in peripheral blood of mice with bone marrow suppression, while the effects of Spatholobus suberectu and Mucuna birdwoodiana are relatively good.
