Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1995;0(02):-
Objective To assess the effect of inhalation of 20ppm nitric oxide(NO) on gas exchange and hemodynamics in acute lung injury induced by surfactant depletion in piglet. Methods Sixteen female piglets weighing 25-30 kg were induced with thiopental and pancuronium and maintained with continuous infusion of thiopental, fentanyl and pancuronium. The animals were tracheotomized and mechanically ventilated with oxygen(FiO 2=1.0). Femoral artery was cannulated for arterial blood sampling and blood gas analysis.Pulmonary catheter was inserted through the femoral vein for measurement of CVP, mean pulmonary artery pressure(MPAP), PCWP, cardiac output (CO) and sampling of mixed venous blood. Acute lung injury was induced by lung lavage after the method described by Lachmann until PaO 2 was lower than 100mm Hg(PaO 2/FiO 2

Korean Journal of Pathology 1993;27(4):424-426
Retroperitoneum is often the site of occurrence of schwannoma, but reports on schwanoma of the adrenal gland is exceptional and only 4 cases have been documented in the literature. This report is to add one such case occurred in a 53 year-old male who had anorexia, nausea and indigestion for one month. Whole body bone scan and abdominal CT scan revealed a 10 cm sized solid mass at upper pole of the left kidney. Under the impression of renal cell carcinoma, an operation was performed. The tumor was well encapsulated and appeared not to involve the kidney. The cut surfaces were light yellow and seemed to be composed of several hard lobules with areas of mucoid, cystic and calcific changes. No adrenal gland was identified grossly. But microscopically, the tumor was found to be partly surrounded by a small portion of adrenal cortical tissue. Histologically the tumor was a typical schwannoma with Verocay bodies, although modified in some extents by mucoid degeneration, cystic change, hyaline change and focal calcification. It is worthwhile to remember that the retroperitoneal schwannoma commonly had a huge size, sometimes involving the adjacent structures.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2015;(2):232-236
Aim To study the effects of Bauhinia championii flavones ( BCF ) on adjusting autophagy a-gainst myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury. Meth-ods 120 SD rats were randomly divided into control, model, 3-MA (15 mg·kg-1 ) and BCF (10, 20 mg ·kg-1) groups (n=8). 30min. ischemia, ischemia/reperfusion 1h. or 3h, while myocardial ischemia reperfusion model was established by ligating left ante-rior descending coronary artery. The contents of crea-tine kinase-MB ( CK-MB) , inducible nitric oxide syn-thase ( iNOS ) and total antioxidative capacity ( T-AOC ) in serum were determined according to the ultra-violet spectrophotometer colorimetric method. The pro-tein expression of LC3-Ⅱ, Beclin-1 and mTOR was observed by Western blot. Results Compared with model group, BCF dose-dependently improved T-AOC, decreased CK-MB and iNOS ( P < 0. 05 ) . Meanwhile, BCF down-regulated the protein expression of LC3-Ⅱand Beclin-1 , and up-regulated mTOR pro-tein expression ( P < 0. 05 ) . Compared with 3-MA group, BCF reduced the contents of CK-MB and iN-OS, increased the level of T-AOC. It raised LC3-Ⅱand Beclin-1 protein expression at 30min. of ischemia, and then declined the protein expression of LC3-Ⅱand Beclin-1 . BCF descended the protein expression of mTOR all over the time ( P <0. 05 ) . Conclusion Autophagy occurs in ischemia then improves in ische-mia/reperfusion period. BCF could promote the occur-ring of autophagy at 30min. of ischemia in the short term and inhibit the excessive expression of autophagy with the increase of time in reperfusion period. BCF pretreatment reduce myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury may by promoting the occurrence of autophagy during ischemia period and inhibit them in reperfusion.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2016;(1):52-54
Background:Recent studies have showed that high homocysteine(Hcy)level can increase the risk of gastric cancer, but no related studies have been reported on role of Hcy in gastric precancerous diseases. Aims:To investigate the role of serum Hcy,folic acid and vitamin B12 in patients with gastric cancer and precancerous diseases. Methods:Eighty-six normal controls,46 atrophic gastritis,46 gastric ulcer,31 gastric polyp,52 gastric cancer patients diagnosed by gastroscopy and pathology were enrolled. Serum levels of Hcy,folic acid and vitamin B12 were determined, and their correlations with clinicopathological features in gastric cancer were analyzed. Results:Compared with normal controls, serum Hcy level in patients with atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer was significantly increased(P < 0. 05);serum folic acid and vitamin B12 levels in patients with gastric ulcer, gastric polyp and gastric cancer were significantly decreased(P <0. 05). Serum Hcy level in patients with gastric cancer was positively correlated with depth of tumor infiltration,TNM staging and lymph node metastasis(P < 0. 05),however,serum folic acid and vitamin B12 levels had no correlation with clinicopathological features. Conclusions:Hcy level is increased in chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric cancer;levels of folic acid and vitamin B12 are decreased in gastric ulcer, gastric polyp and gastric cancer. High level of Hcy is involved in infiltration and metastasis of gastric cancer. Intervention in patients with high level of Hcy,low levels of folic acid and vitamin B12 might be an effective strategy for the prevention and treatment of gastric cancer and precancerous diseases.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2006;4(3):180-182
Objective: To make a comparative observation on treating menopausal syndrome with auricular points sticking-pressure and acupuncture. Methods:The 86 cases were randomized into the group of auricular points sticking-pressure and acupuncture group, and then the comparative observation was made according to the modified Kupperman index. Results: The statistical analysis on the comparative observation showed there is no significant difference between the therapeutic effects of the two groups. Conclusion: Auricular points sticking-pressure and acupuncture are both effective for menopausal syndrome, and the auricular points sticking-pressure is worthy to spread with its easy operation.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether T1-201 reinjection distinguishes viable from non-viable myocardium in patients with reverse redistribution after acute myocardial infarction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We studied 42 patients with acute myocardial infarction (age, 55+/-12 years). Eighteen (43%) out of 42 showed reverse redistribution on dipyridamole stress-4 hour redistribution T1-201 single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). T1-201 reinjection was performed at 24 hours. Reverse redistribution was defined as worsening of perfusion defect at 4 hour delayed scan. All patients underwent follow-up echocardiography in 4 months to assess regional wall motion improvement. T1-201 uptake on reinjection images were analyzed for the prediction of myocardial wall motion improvement. RESULTS: Of 36 segments with reverse redistribution, 17 segments showed normal wall motion on echocardiography, while 19 segments showed all motion abnormalities. Of 19 the segments with reverse redistribution, 11 (58%) showed enhanced uptake after 24 hour reinjection. Myocardial wall motion was improved in 10 of 11 segments (90%) with enhanced uptake on reinjection. Wall motion improvement was not seen in 5 of 8 segments (63%) without enhanced thallium uptake. When myocardial viability was assessed by the uptake on reinjection image, nine of 10 segments (90%) with normal or mildly decreased uptake showed improved wall motion. Wall motion was not improved in 5 of 9 segments (56%) with severely decreased uptake. CONCLUSION: In patients with acute myocardial ifarction, T1-201 reinjection imaging on myocardial segments with reverse redistribution has a high positive predictive value in the assessment of myocardial viability.

Primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET) of the ovary are rare tumors with an exclusive or almost exclusive malignant neuroectodermal composition, and are generally regarded as a monodermal expression of an ovarian teratoma. The tumors are basically identical with the lesions of the same name occuring typically in the central nervous system of children. These tumors consist chiefly of undifferentiated small cells resembling neuroblasts. There are also mature, well- differentiated neuroectodermal cells, such as astrocytes and ependymal cells. We report a case of ovarian PNET with glial and neuroblastic differentiation and focal teratomatous foci of non-neural tissue in a 17-year-old female.
