Objective To investigate health beliefs and fluid status in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients, to explore the relation between fluid status and health beliefs in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients. Methods The data were collected from the peritoneal dialysis center in Ningxia Medical University General Hospital from January 2014 through January 2015. A total of 64 diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients were recruited and investigated with health beliefs scale, fluid status and laboratory index, the influencing factors were analyzed with Logistic regression. Results Levels of perceived barriers in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients was the lowest. The score of perceived barriers, levels of albumin and daily water intake in pedal edema diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients were 35.34±10.31, (29.90±4.51) g/L,(860.34±516.71) ml/d, and the results in the non-pedal edema patients were 31.67±12.47, (32.72±6.87) g/L, (872.22±271.85) ml/d, the difference was significant (t=-1.99,2.09,-3.07, P<0.05 or 0.01). Perceived barriers in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients was positively correlated with edematous level (r=0.16,P<0.05) and perceived capacity balancing was negatively correlated with edematous level (r=-0.25,P<0.05). Regression analysis showed that marital status, dialysis age, daily water intake and perceived barriers were the main factors influencing fluid control in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients. Conclusions Fluid control in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients is affected by their health beliefs, this indicates that diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients must have insufficient awareness of fluid status and fluid adherence. It is suggested that they should establish comprehensive health beliefs.

Objective To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens in cancer patients with nosocomial infections. Methods Pathogens isolated from cancer patients with nosocomial infections in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital from 2004 to 2008 were analyzed. Results Totally 3454 strains of pathogens were isolated, including 1900 strains of Gram-negative bacilli (55.0%), 838 strains of fungi (24.3%), and 716 strains of Gram-positive bacteria (20.7%). Pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli and Candida albicans were isolated mainly from surgical wound, urinary tract, respiratory tract and oral cavity. The drug resistant rates for Gram-negative Escherichia coli and Gram-positive staphylococci were high, and Candida albicans was sensitive to all antifungal drugs. Conclusion Opportunistic pathogens account for most nosocomial infections in cancer patients, and some of them are of high-level resistance to antimicrobial agents.

Aim To study the effect of high salt diet during pregnancy on the development of renal vessels in offspring rats and its mechanism. Methods Natural pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into high-salt group and control group. The pregnant rats in the high-salt group were given high-salt diet of 8% NaCl content , while the control group normal diet with 1% NaCl content. In both groups, pregnant rats were given normal drinking water. After delivery, all mothers returned to normal diet and all neonatal rats were breast-fed until one month old.The adult male off springs were used as experimental animals. The vessel tone of renal interlobar arteries and electrophysiological behavior of single vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were detected respectively. Results The contractile response of renal arteries to phenylephrine(Phe) in high-salt group was stronger than that in the control group(P<0.05).The effect of protein kinase C(PKC) non selective blocker GF109203X on Phe-induced contraction in two groups also showed significant difference(P<0.05).In electrophysiology experiments, Phe inhibited high-conductance Ca2+-activated K+ channel(BK channel) currents in renal arteriolar smooth muscle cells in two groups, and the inhibitory effect was more pronounced in high-salt offsprings (P<0.05).GF109203X could eliminate the response of Phe on BK currents in both groups(P>0.05).Conclusions High-salt diet during pregnancy could increase the sensitivity of renal interlobar arterial contractile response to Phe in adult male offsprings, which is associated with PKC-mediated BK channels pathway.Maternal high-salt diet during pregnancy may increase the risk of renal vascular diseases in adult offsprings.
