?AlM: To evaluate the expressions and significances of endoplasmic reticulum stress related protein ( BlP ) , hypoxia-inducible factor-1α ( HlF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) in the retina of diabetic rats.
?METHODS:Seventy-two male Sprague-Dawley ( SD) rats were chosen and divided randomly into 6 groups:normal control 2mo (C2m, n = 12), diabetes mellitus 2mo (D2m, n=12), normal control 4mo (C4m, n=12), diabetes mellitus 4mo (D4m, n = 12), normal control 6mo (C6m, n=12) and diabetes mellitus 6mo (D6m, n=12 ) . The diabetes mellitus mouse were induced by intraperitoneal injection of 0. 1mol/L streptozotocin (STZ, 65mg/kg). The expression of BlP, HlF-1α and VEGF in the retina were detected by enzyme- linked immuno sorbent assay. The location of BlP, HlF-1α and VEGF in epiretinal membranes were investigated by immunohistochemistry staining.
?RESULTS: BlP were significantly increase than control groups in all DM groups with the course of diabetes ( P<0. 01). HlF-1α were detected higher than control groups in all DM groups (P< 0. 05), but there was no statistical significance among treatment groups. VEGF in D4m and D6m groups were higher than control groups (P<0. 05), and there was statistical significance between D4m and D6m groups. BlP can be detected in control groups a little, mainly in the inner limiting membrane and ganglion cell layers. HlF - 1α cannot be detected in control groups, meanwhile it can be detected in all layers in DM. VEGF can be detected in control groups a little, it mainly be detected in inner nuclear layer, outer nuclear layer, around retinal vessel and ganglion cell layers in DM groups.
?CONCLUSlON:The expressions of BlP, HlF-1α and VEGF increase in the retina of diabetic rats than control groups with progressive of diabetes mellitus, both endoplasmic reticulum stress and HlF-1α signal path play important role in the progress of diabetic retinopathy.

Purpose The research was conducted to evaluate the stability of N-terminal site-specific PEGylated uricase. Methods The enzyme activity is used as an index to evaluate the thermal stability (at 4-80 ℃) , the pH stability, the ability of avoiding the trypsin digestion and half-life in vivo of PEG-uricase, then it is compared with uricase. Results PEGylated uricase is thermally more stable than uricase between 4 ℃ and 60 ℃, but at 70 ℃, the enzyme activity of both PEG-uricase and uricase decreases sharply. In the test of pH stability, the curve of uricase shows an obvious decrease of enzyme activity at 5 .2-6.0 and 9.2-10.0. The behavior of PEG-uricase indicates that the destabilizing was prevented effectively by PEGylation. The test of anti-trypsin digestion suggests that PEG-uricase retains 70% of its enzyme activity,but uricase only 20% ,200 minutes after being reserved in trypsin solution. Stability in vivo indicates that the half-life of PEG-uricase is 1 530 min and uricase, only 45 min. Conclusion PEGylated uricase has improved thermal stability, the pH stability, ability of protecting from trypsin digestion and stability in vivo.

Purpose:To study the clinical characteristics of primary colorectal non Hodgkin's lymphoma, analyze the prognostic factors, and assess the results of treatment with adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Methods:Ninety four patients were restrospectively studied at our institution between 1971 and 1995, and all of them underwent operation and were confirmed primary colorectal non Hodgkin's lymphoma pathologically. Adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy were administered to 77 and 83 patients respectively. The univariate and multivariate analysis were used to estimate the prognostic factors.Results:The 3 , 5 , and 10 year survival rate was 62.5%, 61.0%, and 58.9% respectively. Objective To evaluate the effect of wild feces detection in Oncomelania hupensis environments on the surveil?lance of infection source of schistosomiasis,and find the weakness in schistosomiasis control in Hubei Province,so as to put for?ward the targeted strategies and measures. Methods Four environments with O. hupensis snails in endemic areas of Hubei Provinces,where human and livestock often haunted,were selected according to the river systems,namely the Juzhanghe River beach in Jingzhou City,Changjiang River beach in Jiayu County,Hanbei River beach in Tianmen City,and Changshou River beach in Zhongxiang City,then the snail survey and wild feces detection were implemented in the selected environments. Re?sults There were O. hupensis snails,livestock,wild feces of cattle or sheep as well as positive cattle feces found in all the 4 environments,and the positive rate of schistosome miracidium incubation was 47.62%. Conclusion The schistosome miracidi?um positive rate of wild feces of cattle is high in the environments with snails in endemic areas of Hubei Province ,which has high risk for schistosomiasis transmission.

Objective To detect the expression of a novo tumor suppressor gene PTEN and DNA direct repair enzyme MGMT in gynecomastia.
