Missed Monteggia fracture leading to chronic radial head
dislocation is a known complication. The surgical treatment
options remain challenging. The aim of treatment is to
reduce the radial head and to maintain the stability of the
elbow in all ranges of motion. A few surgical techniques
have been described with complications. We report the case
of a 13 years old boy with chronic radial head dislocation as
a result of an unrecognised Monteggia fracture-dislocation
for eight years. We successfully reduced the radial head and
corrected the cubital valgus from 45 degrees to 10 degrees
with a proximal ulna osteotomy and gradual distraction with
2-pin Monotube external fixator. The correction was
uneventful with good functional outcome.

Primary sacral tumours are rare, therefore experience of
managing their associated complications are very limited.
Effective surgical treatment of pelvic chondrosarcoma
remains a major challenge for orthopaedic surgeons, due to
the complex anatomic structure of the pelvis, the lack of
defined compartment borders, the close vicinity to vital
structures, and the risk of jeopardizing pelvic structural
stability. We report a rare case of a giant sacral
chondrosarcoma (100cm x 80cm) in an elderly male who
successfully underwent tumour resection with good
functional outcome and recovery. Long term follow up is
essential in vie

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2006;31(3):420-423
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the diagnostic value of 2-dimentional ultrasonography and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) in primary bone tumor.
METHODS:
The hemodynamic parameters such as systolic maximum velocity (Vmax), diastolic minimum velocity (Vmin), resistance index (RI), and pulsatility index (PI) of intratumoral folw in 93 patients with primary bone tumors proved by histopathology were studied using 2-dimentional ultrasonography and CDFI techniques.
RESULTS:
The bone destruction periosteum response and soft tissue mass were essentially revealed with 2-dimentional ultrasonography techniques. The intratumoral flow features were clearly shown by CDFI. The Vmax and Vmin in malignant bone tumor were significantly higher than those in benign one (P < 0.01). RI and PI in malignant bone tumor were lower than those in benign one (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSION
Observing the features of bone tumor and hemodynamic parameters by 2-dimentional ultrasonography and CDFI has a great clinical value in diagnosing primary bone tumor and distinguishing the malignant and benign bone tumors.

Intestinal Research 2019;17(3):317-329
Globally, colorectal cancer (CRC) is a substantial public health burden, and it is increasingly affecting populations in Asian countries. The overall prevalence of CRC is reported to be low in Asia when compared with that in Western nations, yet it had the highest number of prevalent cases. This review described the prevalence of CRC in Asia according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer from World Health Organization (WHO) database and summarized its major risk factors. Non-modifiable factors include genetic factors, ethnicity, age, gender, family history and body height; smoking, alcohol drinking, weight, Westernized diet, physical inactivity, chronic diseases and microbiota were involved in environmental factors. These risk factors were separately discussed in this review according to published literature from Asian countries. CRC screening has been playing an important role in reducing its disease burden. Some recommendations on its screening practices have been formulated in guidelines for Asia Pacific countries.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2005;30(6):694-696
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the value of color Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS)-guided percutaneous biopsy in the diagnosis and treatment of bone tumors.
METHODS:
Ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy was performed in 64 patients who was diagnosed by CDUS. Puncture instruments included automatic core biopsy device and 14 to approximately 18G crude needle. All cases were identified by the operation and pathological examination.
RESULTS:
Tissue-obtained rate was 97% (62/64). Comparing preoperative pathological diagnosis with postoperative pathological diagnosis, we found the diagnostic correct rate was 97%. No complications resulted from this procedure. According to their pathological results, 33 patients were treated with preoperative chemotherapy. The tumor sizes decreased, and 26 patients saved their limbs and had normal functions.
CONCLUSION
CDUS-guided percutaneous biopsy is safe and quick for the preoperative diagnosis and selecting appropriate surgical procedure for bone tumor treatment.

China Pharmacy 2020;31(6):656-660
OBJECTIVE:To establish the HP LC fing erprints of Oxalis corniculata and to simultaneously determine the contents of isovitexin and swertisin. METHODS :HPLC method was adopted. The determination was performed on ACE Excel- 5-C18column with mobile phase consisted of methanol- 0.1% phosphoric acid water (gradient elution )at the flow rate of 1 mL/min. The column temperature was 35 ℃,and detection wavelength was set at 280 nm. The sample size was 10 μL. Using isovitexin peak as reference,HPLC fingerprints of 12 batches of sample were drawn. The similarity evaluation was performed by using Similarity Evaluation System of Chromatogram Fingerprint of TCM (2012 edition)to determine common peaks. The contents of isovitexin and swertisin were determined by same method of above chromatogram. RESULTS :There were 19 common peaks in HPLC chromatogram of 12 batches of O. corniculata ,with the similarity above 0.89. Two common peaks including isovitexin and swertisin were identified. The linear range of two components were 3.91-117.36 μg/mL(r=0.999 4)and 9.88-118.56 μg/mL(r= 0.999 2),respectively. The limits of quantitation were 0.675 and 3.587 μg/mL;the limits of detection were 0.205 and 1.087 μg/mL, respectively. RSDs of precision ,stability and reproducibility tests were all lower than 2%. The recoveries were 95.46%-99.10% (RSD=1.23% ,n=6),95.34% -101.23%(RSD=2.74% ,n=6),respectively. The average contents were 0.227-1.654, 0.641-2.052 mg/g,respectively. CONCLUSIONS :Established fingerprints can be used for the quality control of O. corniculata ; the content determination method is simple and accu rate, and can be used for simultaneous determination of two components.
