China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2015;28(9):820-823
OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical effect of a new surgical approaches for repairing the acute Achilles tendon rupture.
METHODSFrom January 2009 to January 2014, 21 patients with Achilles tendon rupture were treated by 2 minimally invasive incisions and remaining skin bridge of achilles tendon end including 16 males and 5 females with an average age of 44.3 years old ranging from 21 to 57 years old. Postoperative complications, the range of movement of affected ankle joint, the circumference calf and ankle on both side, time of reture to work and sports activity were observed and recorded. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score was used to evaluate the functional recovery.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 6 to 36 months with an average of 13.5 months. No skin necrosis, wound infection, deep vein thrombosis,re-rupture and sensory disturbance with the ankle or foot in the sural nerve distribution were found. At 1 year after operation, there was no significant difference in the range of movement between affected foot (55.4 ± 6.5)° and unaffected foot (56.3 ± 3.7)° (t = 0.872, P = 0.325). There was significant difference in AOFAS between preoperative (65.1 ± 6.9) and postoperative (94.3 ± 5.5) (t = 7.672, P = 0.013). All patients returned to work and study at an average of 10 weeks (ranged from 6 to 15 weeks) and 15 patients returned to normal sports activities at 21 weeks (ranged from 18 to 24 weeks). Calf and ankle circumferences decreased by 0.45 cm (0.3 to 0.8 cm) and increased by 0.4 cm (0.2 to 0.7 cm), respectively in the injured leg as compared with the contralateral leg.
CONCLUSIONThe simplicity of the technique of minimally invasive incision and skin bridge for acute closed Achilles tendon reconstruction is an effective and reliable method with low complication.

Journal of China Pharmaceutical University 2001;(3):206-209
AIM Diclofenac potassium sustained-release tablets were developed as a gel matrix for using twice daily and evaluated in vitro release characteristics. METHODS The formulations were screened according to the designed in vitro release rate by the use of HPMC as the gel matrix and the hydrophobic retarding agent to modify the release. RESULTS The release was properly characterized by the diffusion mechanism, influenced by pH of the media, slightly affected by the basket rotating speed, without the influences from the pressure exerted during the tabletting procedure. CONCLUSION The selected formulation of diclofenac potassium sustained-release tablets could ensure the desired in vitro release rate. In addition, it proved a good manufacturing reproducibility.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(20):-
Objective To study disfunction of activated T cell from peripheral blood and explore its role on pathogenesis in patients with refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP).Methods T cell subsets and expression of membrane molecule on activated T cell in peripheral blood were measured in 26 refractory MPP patients by using immunofluorescence and flowcytometry, and compared with those of 18 control healthy children. Results The percentage of CD4~+ cell from peripheral blood in refractory MPP children was significantly lower than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusions There are disfunctions of T cell in refractory MPP patients in acute period, and the abnormal T cell activated disfunction may play an important role on pathogenesis.

Objective To investigate the effects of postoperative sleep deprivation on the expression of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) in hippocampi of aged rats. Methods Forty-eight male Wistar rats, aged 20 months, weighing 500-600 g,were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =12 each) using a random number table:control group (group C) ; operation group (group O) ; sleep deprivation group (group S) ; postoperative sleep deprivation group (group OS).Sleep deprivation was induced in the rats by housing them on small platforms over water. They fell into the water if they lost muscle tone. All the rats had free access to food and water. In group OS,splenectomy was performed, and all the rats underwent 24 h sleep deprivation after the rats were awake. All the rats underwent 24 h sleep deprivation at the corresponding time point in group S.Morris water maze test was carried out at 24 h after operation. The number of ChAT positive cells in the hippocampal CA1 region was counted after completion of Morris water maze test. Results Compared with group C,the escape latency was significantly prolonged, the time of staying at the original platform quadrant was shortened, and the frequency of crossing the original platform and the number of ChAT positive cells in the hippocampal CA1 region were decreased after operation in O and OS groups, and no significant changes were found in the parameters mentioned above in group S.Compared with group O,the escape latency was significantly prolonged, the time of staying at the original platform quadrant was shortened, the frequency of crossing the original platform was decreased, and there was no significant difference in the numberof ChAT positive cells in the hippocampal CA1 region in group OS,and no significant changes were found in the parameters mentioned above in group S.Compared with group S,the escape latency was significantly prolonged, the time of staying at the original platform quadrant was shortened, and the frequency of crossing the original platform and the number of ChAT positive cells in the hippocampal CA1 region were decreased after operation in group OS.Conclusion The mechanism by which postoperative sleep deprivation induces cognitive decline is not related to the expression of ChAT in hippocampi of aged rats.
