2.Effect of Occupational Therapy on the Function of Upper Limbs and Complications in Stroke Patients
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(10):897-898
ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of occupational therapy (OT) on the function of upper limbs and complications in stroke patients with hemiplegia.Methods99 stroke patients were randomly divided into the OT group (52 cases treated with OT and routine rehabilitation) and control group (47 cases treated without OT). Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and evaluation of hand function were performed before and two months after treatment. The complications of patients in two groups were also compared.ResultsAfter treatment, the functions of upper limbs and hand of patients in the OT group were superior to those in the control group ( P<0.05). The numbers of cases with complications in the OT group were significantly less than that in the control group ( P <0.01).ConclusionOT can improve the functions of upper limbs and hand and abate complications in stroke patients.
3.Progress of the recovery mechanism of brain injury associated with the gene polymorphism of apolipoproteins E.
Journal of Forensic Medicine 2014;30(6):466-469
Brain injury is a kind of wound by violence on head, which is a mechanical distortion of skull, meninx, cerebral vascular and brain tissue due to outside force acting on head. Apolipoproteins E (ApoE) is a major kind of apolipoproteins, participating in the metabolism of lipid and regulating balance of cholesterol. Some recent investigations show that gene polymorphism of ApoE is associated with various kinds of diseases. Also its immunoreactivity is changed regularly with brain injury. In addition, ApoE has remarkable effect in neurological normal growth and reparative process after brain injury. This article reviews the biological characteristics and mechanism of ApoE in the repair of brain injury and application prospect in forensic medicine, which may be able to provide new ideas for estimation of the brain injury time and related experimental research.

Objective To discuss the systematic training method for new nurses in central sterile supply department(CSSD),in order to improve the training effects of new nurses and special practice ability, and make them to be qualified for jobs in CSSD.Methods 18 new nurses in CSSD were divided into the control group and the experimental group with 9 nurses in each group. The experimental group adopted systematic training method combining with unit tests and comprehensive evaluation. The control group chose the traditional training method. The testing results were compared between two groups. Results The experimental group all passed through the unit evaluation and comprehensive evaluation, could work independently after the training, got excellent achievement in comprehensive assessment of the department after 3 months on-the-job,and could finish all the work and solve various emergencies.4 passengers failed in unit assessment in the control group, and 3 failed in the comprehensive evaluation. The average results in the experimental group were obviously higher than that of the control group. Conclusions Scientific training content, the systematic training method, comprehensive evaluation method can avoid the blindness and arbitrariness in training and improve training effect. The implementation of unit access system and post access system in standardized training of new nurses can improve the study enthusiasm and strengthen the risk and responsibility consciousness of nurses, which is beneficial to the growth of new nurses and professional value guidance.
5.Investigation and analysis of the anxious condition of nurses and correlative factors
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2012;28(18):21-24
Objective To explore the anxious condition of nurses and correlative factors, and to explore the relationship between the nurses' anxiety and the correlative factors,so that can help the management echelon and nurses to correctly understand the relationship of anxiety and pressure, and control and handle the anxiety problem of nurses fundamentally, and improve the physical and mental health, work efficiency and nursing quality of nurses. Methods A questionnaire investigation was conducted in 85 nurses from a certain hospital in Harbin about the anxiety, life events, work stressor and the relationship between them. Results 30 nurses had anxiety(the anxiety group),another 55 nurses showed no anxiety(the nonanxiety group). The comparison of items in life events inventory showed that great difference existed in pregnancy, addition of new family members, the difficulty of training their children, property damage or being stolen, living apart with the spouse, magnificent changes of the life style, having got severe illness or wound. In the aspect of work sttessor scale, professional and career issues, workload and allocation of time, working environment, patient care and interaction showed significant difference. The work pressure was significantly associated with the level of anxiety. Conclusions Our finding suggest that effective stress management strategies should be implemented to reduce or eliminate work pressure of nurses, carry out training to improve the self-regulation ability of nurses, and if necessary biofeedback therapy can be introduced.

Objective To investigate the effect of Fillet flap and postoperative pressure combined with magnet pieces and triamcinolone acetonide injection therapy for keloid in aural region. Methods From January 2009 to January 2011,87 patients (102 side ears) with keloid at the aural region were treated.Fillet flap repaired for keloid in aural region, pressure treating by magnet pieces began at 14 days after operation, and continued for more than one year.Triamcinolone acetonide injection therapy began 1 months after operation if keloid recurrence tendency. Results After operation,80 patients (94 lateral ears) healed by first intention.Hematoma under flap appeared in 7 patients (8lateral ears),and healed by changing dressings. And 87 cases (102 lateral ears) were followed up for 1 year. The effect of operation and pressure therapy group and operation, pressure and injection therapy group was significantly higher than operation group, with statistically significant differences.Effect of operation, pressure and injection therapy group was higher than that of operation and pressure therapy group, but there was no significant difference. Conclusions Fillet flap and postoperative pressure combined with magnet pieces and triamcinolone acetonide injection therapy can effectively treat aural region keloids.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effects of sacral canal injection on nerve root local inflammatory factors in rat model with lumbar disc herniation, in order to identify its mechanism of treatment.
METHODSForty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(group A), model group (group B), Chinese medicine group(group C) and western medicine group(group D). There were 12 rats in each group. The model of lumbar disc herniation was established using compression and inflammatory stimulation in group B, C, D. All rats were given epidural catheterization and group A and B with physiological saline (1 ml/kg), group C with mixed liquor of 2% lidocaine and compound Danshen injections and physiological saline (2:2: 16) and group D with mixed liquor of 2% lidocaine and triamcinolone acetonide injection and physiological saline (2:2:16), once a week for a total of three treatments. Four rats were killed every 1 week after injection for once, and the inflammatory factors of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), interleukin-l (IL-1) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were detected by ELISA method.
RESULTSThe levels of TNF-alpha, PGE2, IL-1 and IL-6 in compressed nerve tissues in group B were increased than those of group A (P < 0.01). The levels of PGE2, IL-1 and IL-6 in group C and D were decreased than those of group B, and group D was much less(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in level of TNF-alpha among group B, C, D (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONCompound compression with inflammatory stimulation can lead to massive release of inflammatory mediators, such as TNF-alpha, PGE2, IL-1 and IL-6. Both injection with compound Danshen injections and triamcinolone acetonide injections by sacral canal can reduce the levels of part inflammatory mediators (PGE2, IL-1 and IL-6), and the effect of Glucocorticoid is better than Danshen (P < 0.05).
