Objective To investigate the drinking water quality of secondary water supply in Tongzhou District, Beijing in order to establish a data monitoring management system. Methods The uniform questionnaires were used for the on-the-spot investigation at secondary water supply units in the whole district, which included secondary water supply facility situations, environmental sanitary conditions and health management and so on. At the same time, municipal water and secondary supply water were tested. Results 48 units of secondary water supply were investigated. In this investigation, the main systems of secondary water supply were the low water tank added frequency conversion pump(accounts for 77.1%) and the inverter constant pressure water supply system with negative pressure(accounts for 14.3%). According to the hygienic requirements, the unqualified rate of water tank structure, disinfection facility and water tank room were 81.0%, 73.3% and 87.3% respectively; besides, 39.6% of the units used the invalid hygienic licenses, 43.5% of the water managers had no health certificates, and 54.5% of the units had never cleaned their water tanks. The total qualification rate of the secondary water supply was 66.7%. The main items that were not up to the standard were ammonia-nitrogen, free chlorine, recognizable objects with naked eyes, total bacteria count and turbidity. For the different water material, the qualification rate showed a significant difference(P=0.023). Conclusion The drinking water quality of the secondary water supply is lower than before and the preventive hygiene supervision and evaluation is comparatively delayed in the investigated district.

Clinical Medicine of China 2008;24(8):830-832
Objective To monitor right heart hemodynamic changes of patients with lung cancer during and after the procedures of pneumonectomy and discuss the effect of pneumonectomy on right heart function and risk of postoperation morbidities. Method 16 patients with lung cancer were randomly selected and the clinical database was queried and Swan-Ganz catheter was applied awake from jugular vein to pulmonary artery ,measuring mean arterial pressure(MAP) ,heart rate(HR) ,central venous pressure(CVP) ,mean pulmonary artery pressure (MPAP),mean pulmonary capllary wedge pressure(MPCWP) ,and eardiaoc output(CO) and calculating cardiac index (CI),left ventricular-stroke work index (LVSWI), right ventricular stroke work index (RVSWI) , and stroke volume index(SVI) instantaneously before anaesthesia, after anaesthesia with single lung ventilation, after pulmonary artery and pulmonary vein occlusion and supine chest dosed during the procedure of pneumonectomy. Pre-and post-operative complications were recored. Results Cardiovascular complications occurred in 6 patients(37.5%) postoperatively. There were no operative or perioperative deaths. MPAP increased significantly after the procedure of pneumonectomy compared with that of preoperation, and MPAP > 26 mm Hg was in 4 patients who got cardiovascular complications postoperatively with morbidity of 100% ,which was "significantly higher than the morbidity of 16.7% (2/12) when MPAP < 25 mm Hg. Conclusion Pneumonectomy has significant effects on right heart hemodynemic changes and as MPAP increases postoperatively, the risk of cardiovascular complications becomes higher.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(22):4369-4373
BACKGROUND:It has been demonstrated that shortening of femoral eccentricity would lead to decreased abductor muscle strength, and overlengthening eccentricity would increase the risk of femoral neck prosthesis fracture and the compressive stress of cemented femoral stem prosthesis after artificial hip replacement, which easily causes prosthetic loosening and subsidence.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the importance of eccentricity adjustment in the artificial hip replacement for treatment of femoral neck fracture in elderly patients.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:An observational study was performed at the Department of Orthopedics,First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between January 2004 and December 2005.PARTICIPANTS:A total of 30 patients with femoral neck fracture,12 males and 18 females, averaging 73.8 years of age (range 62-90 years old),received treatment at the Department of Orthopedics,First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and were recruited into this study.METHODS:All patients underwent artificial hip replacement operated by the same team of surgeons.Prior to surgery, some indices on the uninjured side were determined through the anteroposterior radiographs of pelvis using X-Caliper measurement tool, including rotation center of femoral head, rotation center of hip joint, collodiaphyseal angle, femoral transverse eccentricity, abduction moment arm,and moment arm of gravity. These indices were precisely calculated using trigonometric function. The angle of osteotomy plane was determined.Proper prosthesis was selected and eccentricity was adjusted.Following artificial hip placement,a comparison was made between uninjured and injured sides.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Eccentricity and hip joint function.RESULTS:The eccentricity on uninjured side of 30 patients averaged 38.7 mm (range 22-57 mm) prior to surgery and that on the injured side averaged 39.2 mm (range 21-59 mm) after surgery.Limb discrepancy ranged 1.8-8.7 mm,with a mean of 3.4 mm,after surgery. There were 26 patients (86.7%) presenting long limbs and 4 patients (13.3%) showing short limbs after surgery. All patients were followed-up 0.5-2.5 years old.Harris hip score results were excellent in 10 patients, good in 19 patients, and fair in 1 patient, with an excellent and good rate of 97%.CONCLUSION:In treatment of femoral neck fracture, eccentricity adjustment during artificial hip replacement is closely associated with hip joint function after surgery.

Objective To observe the sensitivity ofastrocytoma to chemotherapeutic drugs, in order to explore the drug selection using chemosensitivity testing in vitro on astrocytoma. Comparing different WHO grade astrocytoma to chemotherapeutic drugs sensitivity differences, providing the basis data for clinical treatment. Methods The astrocytoma cells were seperated and cultured in vitro from 142 tumor tissues by glioma resection, including 55 cases of low-grade astrocytoma (WHO grade Ⅰ , Ⅱ) and 87 cases of high-grade astrocytoma (WHO grade Ⅲ, Ⅳ). The proliferation inhibition and chemosensitivity of tumor cells to 11 drugs were investigated by using MTT method. Results There were 54.93% (78/142) patients recommended chemotherapeutic drug in 142 cases. The percentage was 41.82%(23/55) in the low-grade astrocytoma, and 63.22% (55/87) in the high-grade astrocytoma respectively. Teniposide, carboplatin, vincristine as the sensitive drugs were similar in different WHO grade astrocytoma. Conclusions The chemosensitivity testing could be used to filtrate sensitive drugs to clinical chemotherapy. The action is more prominent in high-grade astrocytoma than in low-grade astrocytoma. There is no difference in the choice of sensible drugs among different WHO grade astrocytoma.
