Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2017;37(2):246-248
Objective To observe the application of budesonide combined with terbutaline aerosol therapy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and its influence on inflammatory factors. Methods Retrospective a total of 189 cases from May 2014 to May 2016 in our hospital were collected, they were divided them into two groups: the observation group and the control group.Observation group was given budesonide combined terbutaline aerosol therapy, total cases were 98, control group was given terbutaline atomization treatment alone, total cases were 91.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared, the changes of PaO2 , PaCO2 , IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, CRP and PCT were measured before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.9%, significantly higher than the control group 80.2%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), compared with control group, the arterial blood PaO2 levels increased significantly, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), PaCO2 level significantly decreased, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), compared with the control group, the levels of IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, CPR and PCT in the serum of the two groups decreased after treatment, and the reduces range was higher in observation group than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclusion Budesonide combined with terbutaline atomization could improve the level of arterial blood PaO2 , reduce inflammation, clinical curative effect were well.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating malignant pleural effusion (MPE).Method Eighteen MPE patients confirmed by histopathological and/or cytological examinations were treated by acupuncture by selecting Yunmen (LU 2), Qimen (LR 14), Zhangmen (LR 13), Jingmen (GB 25), Guanyuan (CV 4), Zhongji (CV 3), Shuidao (ST 28), and Guilai (ST 29) as the major points. The treatment was given once every other day, 3 times a week, 4 weeks as a treatment course, and the therapeutic efficacy was evaluated 1 course later.Result Of the 18 patients, 6 got complete remission, 9 got partial remission, 2 achieved stable condition, while 1 didn’t respond to the treatment, and the total effective rate was 83.3%. Of the 5 cases with encapsulated pleural effusion, 2 got complete remission and 3 got partial remission, and the total effective rate was 100.0%. The amount of pleural effusion (anteroposterior diameter of the fluid), comprehensive score of symptoms, item scores of the symptoms, and Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) score were changed significantly after treatment (P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture is an effective method in treating MPE of moderate volume, and it can swiftly improve the symptoms and promote the quality of life.

Objective To investigate the transfer rate of alkaloids in extraction and purification process of Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis (CPA) and to ascertain the optimal purification technology. Methods We purified the alkaloids from Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis by AB-8 macroporous resin. With the contents of berberine hydrochloride and palmatine hydrochloride as the reference indexes, content determination of alcohol extract, sample solution and eluent from AB-8 macroporous resin were determined by HPLC.Results The optimal technology was as follows:using 8-fold 75 %(V/V) ethanol as extract, extracting for 3 times and lasting one hour for each time. The transfer rate of alkaloids was 83.75 %under the above condition. The transfer rate of alkaloids was about 80 %when the concentration of sample solution(pH value being 8 and centrifugation) was 0.1 g/mL,and the transfer rate of alkaloids in eluent was 75.14 %.Conclusion The optimum technology is stable and feasible, and the purification effect of alkaloids from Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis by AB-8 macroporus resin is good.

BACKGROUND:Lots of bone graft materials such as autologous iliac bone, autologous rib, titanium mesh plus alograft are available in the treatment of bone defects after spinal tuberculosis debridement. OBJECTIVE: To compare the fixation effect of different kinds of bone graft materialsvia pedicle approach fixation for treatment of thoracic spinal tuberculosis. METHODS: Totaly 40 patients with thoracic spinal tuberculosis were enroled, including 18 patients accompanied with paraplegia and 15 patients accompanied with kyphosis deformity. Both of them were subjected to by standard anti-tuberculosis treatment for 2-4 weeks and consequent posterior pedicle screw fixation combined with debridement/bone grafting fusion. They were grouped by the variables of bone graft materials: autologous iliac bone, autologous rib, titanium mesh plus alograft groups. Al patients were folowed up for 24 months. The lesion healing, bone graft fusion, rehabilitation of paraplegia, correction of kyphosis and incidence of adverse reaction were observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The time of bone graft fusion in the autologous iliac bone group was shorter than that in the autologous rib and titanium mesh plus alograft groups (P < 0.05), and there was no significant difference between autologous rib and titanium mesh plus alograft groups. No adverse phenomenons such as grafts and titanium mesh faling off, fracture and displacement, nonunion and pseudarthrosis, tuberculosis recurrence were found in these three groups. After the symptomatic therapy for 3-6 months, the muscle strength of patients with paraplegia and spinal kyphosis deformity basically recovered, spinal kyphosis deformity was basically corrected. These results demonstrate that the treatment effect of autologous iliac bone is the best; however, the treatment effect of autologous rib is as good as the titanium mesh plus allograft.

OBJECTIVETo assess the association of neural development-related genes LIS1and TSNAX with bipolar disorder in a Chinese Han population.
METHODSThree hundred and eight five patients (including 188 males and 197 females) from Guangzhou Brain Hospital with bipolar disorder meeting the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Bipolar Disorder (BDI) (Fourth Edition) criteria and 475 healthy controls from the local community were recruited. Ten single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the LIS1 and TSNAX genes were genotyped by GoldenGate genotyping assay on an Illumina Beadstation 500 machine. Association analyses of SNPs and haplotypes were performed with Plink 1.07 software.
RESULTSAnalysis of the total sample has failed to find any association of SNP or haplotype of the two genes with BDI (P> 0.05). When patients were divided into subgroups with or without psychotic symptom, no significant association of the two genes was found with psychotic BDI or non-psychotic BDI (P> 0.05). No significant association was found between any SNP and haplotype of two genes and female BDI or male BDI, nor were significant association found between age of onset and LIS1 and TSNAX gene polymorphisms.
CONCLUSIONOur results indicated that LIS1 and TSNAX genes are not associated with susceptibility to bipolar I disorder in Chinese Han population.
