Objective To evaluate the curative effects of vitreoctomy or simple scleral buckling on retinal multiple-tear detachment associated with tracted anterior flap. Methods The clinical data of 89 eyes in 89 patients with retinal multiple-tear detachment associated with tracted anterior flap diagnosed in Jan, 1999-Jan, 2002 were retrospectively analyzed. In the 89 patients, 41 had undergone vitreoctomy and 48 had undergone scleral buckling without vitrectomy. In the duration of 2- to 36-month follow-up with the mean of (11.02?7.90) months, visual acuity, retinal reattached rate and postoperative complication were examined and the results in the 2 groups were compared. Results In 41 eyes underwent vitreocotmy, successful reattachment was found in 38 (92.7%); visual acuity increased in 33 (80.5%), didn′t change in 6 (14.6%), and decreased in 2 (4.9%); leakage of flocculent membrane in anterior chamber occured was found in 2 (4.9%), complicated cataract in 3 (7.3%), and severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) in 3 (7.3%). In 48 eyes underwent scleral buckling, 41 (85.4%) had success reattachment; visual acuity increased in 36 (75.0%), didn′t change in 4 (8.3%), and decreased in 8 (16.7%); leakage of flocculent membrane in anterior chamber was found in 6 (12.5%), complicated cataract in 9 (18.8%), and severe PVR in 8 (16.7%). Conclusion There isn′t any difference of the success rate of the surgery between vitrectomy and scleral buckling for retinal multiple-tear detachment associated with tracted anterior flap. The better visual acuity and less complications are found in the vitrectomy group than those in the scleral buckling group.

Objective To evaluate the effect of vitreoretinal surgery with lens sparing technique in treating the detachment with giant retinal tear(GRT) associated with proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR). Methods Thirty one consecutive eyes with GRT underwent vitrectomy were analysed retrospectively. Operative techniques included peeling of pre retinal membrane, injection of perfluorodecalin liquid, retinotomy and retinectomy, endolaser, and silicon oil or C 2F 6 gas tamponade. Lens sparing vitrectomy was performed in 28 phakic eyes. Follow up period ranged from 11 to 34 months. Results Anatomic retinal attachment was achieved intraoeratively in 29 eyes. In 16 eyes of 28 eyes with postoperative cataract formation,3 eyes underwent cataract surgery with or without intraocular lens implantation. The corrected final visual acuity ranged from 0.4 to 0.01. Conclusion Most phakic eyes of retinal detachment with GRT PVR can be successfully operated on with an outcome of improving the visual acuity by using techniques of lens sparing vitrectomy, perfluorodecalin liquid and silcone oil tamponade.

Objective To observe the effects of residual perfluorocarbon liquid(PFCL) droplets in the anterior chamber in patients after vitreoretinal(VR) surgery for complicated retinal detachments. Methods The study group consisted of nine patients(nine eyes)aged 16~64 in whom droplets of perfluorodeclin liquid(PFDL) appeared in the anterior chamber subsequent to VR surgery for complicated retinal detachments involving scleral bucking, vitrectomy and/or lensectomy, the peeling of pre-retinal membrane, perfluorodecalin injection, and perfluorodeclin liquid-silicone oil or fluid-air exchange. Mean follow-up was 10.3 months. Results Three to 30 droplets of perfluorodeclin liquid were found in the anterior chambers in 9 eyes. There was no corneal complication or inflammatory reactions or blood vessel invasion into the corneal stroma or increased intraocular pressure. Conclusion Residual perfluorodeclin liquid droplets in the anterior chamber are well tolerated and do not induce corneal damage or ocular inflammation.

Objective To clone and express Mycobacterium tuberculosis fusion antigen ESAT-6 and CFP-10 ( EC) and to evaluate the biological activity of the fusion antigen EC in inducing specific cytokines secretion from THP -1 cells. Methods The fusion antigen EC gene was cloned into pET-30 a prokaryotic expression vector and expressed highly in E.coli BL21.Then, the THP-1 cells were stimulated with purified fusion antigen EC of different concentrations (10 and 20 μg/ml).Culture supernatants were collected after 12 h and 24 h, respectively. The secretion levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, GM-CSF, TNF-αand IFN-γin THP-1 cell culture supernatants were detected using Bio-PlexProTM Assays kit. Results The M.tuberculosis fusion antigen EC was cloned and expressed successfully .The secretion levels of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-αin EC infected THP-1 cells were significantly higher than those in THP-1 cells (P<0.05).The secretion levels of other cytokines did not change significantly .Conclusion The obtained M.tuberculosis fusion antigen EC has biological activity in inducing the THP-1 cells to secrete a higher level of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α.

Objective:To investigate the value of 3D printing combined with intraoperative electrophysiological monitoring in excision of cerebellopontine angle (CPA) tumor. Methods:The clinical data of 43 patients with CPA tumor, admitted to our hospital from October 2016 to October 2019, were collected and analyzed. These patients were voluntarily divided into ordinary group ( n=27) and optimized group ( n=16). Patients in the ordinary group were operated microscopically, and those in the optimized group were operated microscopically with 3D printing combined with intraoperative electrophysiological monitoring. The degrees of tumor resection and neurological functions (facial and auditory nerve function, swallowing function, limb activity) improvements were compared between the two groups. Results:The degrees of tumor resection of the optimized group were significantly higher than those of the ordinary group ( P<0.05), and the improvement of facial and auditory nerve function in the optimized group was significantly better than that in the ordinary group ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in improvements of swallowing function and limb activity between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:The 3D printing combined with intraoperative electrophysiological monitoring can improve the resection rate of CPA tumor, protect the facial auditory nerve, and improve the quality of life of patients after surgery.
