Objective To summarize the modified clinical technique and experience of simultaneous kidney-pancreatic transplantation (SKPT) with enteric drainage(ED). Methods Two patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and end-stage renal disease underwent SKPT with enteric drainage of exocrine secretions. The patients were treated with quadruple therapy including antithymocyte globulin (ATG) induction therapy,prednisone,FK506,and Mycophenolate-Mofetil(MMF), as maintenance immunosuppression. Results The two patients became insulin-independent after treated by small dose insulin for 5~10 days and Scr,BUN became normal 3~5 days after the operation.Until now all the grafts of the patients functioned well. Conclusions ED-SKPT is more effective than simultaneous kidney-pancreatic transplantation with bladder drainage (BD-SKPT).ED-SKPT is an effective method for treating type Ⅰdiabetes mellitus with uremia.Finer allograft and nicer HLA-typing can decrease complications.

Objective To study the levels of IL 6 production in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in 25 patients with inactive and active (include mild、 moderate and severe) ulcerative colitis(UC) and age, sex matched 20 healthy subjects. Methods Peripheral blood monocytes (PBMC) were stimulated with PHA for 48 hours to induce IL 6 production. IL 6 content in the culture medium was assayed by using B9 cells. Results IL 6 production was significantly increased in PBMC from active UC. There was an increasing tendency with severity of disease. But no significant difference was found between the extent of the lesious. Conclusions The levels of IL 6 production in PBMC can be an indicator of the activity of UC.

Objective To investigate whether tumor necrosis factor (TNF)a, TNFb and TNFc microsatellite polymorphisms correlate with chronic atrophic gastritis and gastric adenocarcinoma in Chinese Han population. Methods TNFa, TNFb and TNFc microsatellite alleles in 164 healthy subjects, 53 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis and 56 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma were typed using PCR technique combined with High Voltage denaturing PAGE and silver staining. At the same time, the PCR products were cloned and sequenced. Results The frequency of TNFa10 allele was significantly higher in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis than in healthy individuals ( 19.81% vs. 11.89% , P = 0.04 ). However it was not related to age, gender, degree of atrophy or intestinal metaplasia in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. The frequency of TNFa6b5c1 haplotype homozygote was significantly lower in patients with gastric adenocarcinoma than in healthy individuals ( 1.79% vs. 15.85% , P = 0.006 ). The sequence result revealed that the copy number of dinucleiotide repeating within the same TNFa allele was not consistent with that in the reports from Western countries. Conclusions It should be more accurate and clear to define TNFa alleles. TNFa10 allele is associated with the susceptibility to chronic atrophic gastritis. TNFa6b5c1 haplotype homozygote is negatively associated with gastric adenocarcinoma and thus may play a resistant role in the shifting process from chronic atrophic gastritis to gastric adenocarcinoma.

[Objective] To investigate the effect of dredging meridians in improving prostatitis type Ⅲ. [Methods] Sixty cases of prostatitis were randomized into groups A and B, 30 in each group. The two groups were both treated with Keduohua Capsule, which was a ?-eceptor blocker, and group B was added with Guizhi Fuling Pill (GFP). The treatment lasted 12 weeks. Chronic prostatitis symptoms index issued by American National Institute of Health (NIH-CPSI) , white blood cells (WBC) count and the amount of lecithin body in prostatic secretion, and urinary flow rate were examined before and after treatment to evaluate the therapeutic effect of GFP and the safety of the combination of two medicines . [Results] The clinical symptoms were relieved, WBC count and the amount of lecithin body in prostatic secretion were reduced, and urinary flow rate was increased ( P

Objective:To investigate the distribution of TNF microsatellite polymorphisms in Chinese Han population of Hubei province Methods:DNA samples were extracted from 164 unrelated healthy individuals’EDTA blood TNF microsatellite alleles were typed using PCR technique, followed by High Voltage denaturing PAGE,with silver staining At the same time, the PCR products were cloned and sequenced Results:Detected seven alleles and eleven kinds of genotypes at the TNFb locus;four alleles and seven kinds of genotypes at the TNFe locus The polymorphism information contents (PIC) were 0 67 and 0 33 respectively No deviation from Hardy Weinberg equilibrium were observed Statistical analysis showed, the distribution of TNFb and TNFe alleles in Chinese Han population were significantly different from that in European or in American Caucasian(P

Objective To observe the relationship between the intima media thickness(IMT) and the level of serum uric acid in elderly female patients with hypertension Methods Eighty elderly female patients with hypertension were measured for carotid artery average IMT and the level of serum uric acid They were divided into the normal group, intima thicking group ,the plaque shaping group and the vascular stenosis group. In the abnormal groups, probable risk factors were analysed by multiple stepwise regression Results There were significantly differentces among these groups ( P

Objective To investigate morphologic characteristics of myocardial bridge(MBs)in optical coherence tomography(OCT)and to investigate the relationship between MBs and atherosclerosis in the proximal segments to MBs.Methods Twelve patients(age:58.07?12.08)with MBs were examined with OCT.The location and length of the most stenosis area of MBs were observed and compared between the CAG and OCT results. The intima thickness of the proximal 2 cm arterial segment of MBs was measured. Results All the 12 MBs were found in LAD.The length of the MBs measured in OCT and CAG respecgtively was 20.5?4.2 mm vs 15.6?3.5 mm(P

005), while iron overload occurred in 8 of 57 cases of ?-thalassemia (14.0%) and 89 out of 386 cases of ?-thalassemia (23.1%). Although the occurrence rate of iron overload in ?-thalassemia appeared higher than that in ?-thalassemia, no significant difference existed. Homozygote ?-thalassemia was prone to iron overload, followed by non-deletion HbH diseases, at the occurrence rate of 79.2% and 27.3% respectively. Iron deficiency was inclined to be associated with silent ?-thalassemia at the occurrence rate of 45.5%, followed by heterozygote ?-thalassemia (30.3%). Conclusion Both iron overload and iron deficiency can be found in thalassemia. Therefore, special treatments should be carried out according to given cases.
9.Expression of Hypoxia Inducible Factor-1? in Vertebra Development of Mouse
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the expression pattern of hypoxia inducible factor-1?(HIF-1?) in fetal vertebra development of the mouse. Methods The development of mouse fetal vertebra was observed dynamically, and the expression of HIF-1? mRNA at various stages was also detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Results The cartilaginous spine column began to form at E13.5.The primary ossification center was observed at E15.5,then the osteogenesis expanded and extended to both sides.HIF-1? mRNA began to express at E13.5,and more significantly at E14.5(P

1.0 mmol/L).The clinical side effects after medication circa were compared between two groups. Results There was no significant difference in myelosuppression, liver functional lesion, gastrointestinal tract reaction and infection in 2 groups. But following the increase of MTX blood drug level, the incidence rate of skin mucosa contamination, electrocardiographic abnormality, the cardiac creatase abnormity and nervous system symptoms significantly increased. Conclusions In the course of child ALL treatment with HD-MTX+CF,the side effects are common and individual difference is obvious.Specific treatment on individuals is suggested.J Appl Clin Pediatr,2006,21(3):170-171
