Objective To investigate the effect of fluoride on expression of Runx2 mRNA and protein in bone tissue of rats. Methods Fourteen SD rats were randomly divided into two groups: control group(tap water with fluoride < 0.06 mg/L), and fluorosis group(fluoride 50 mg/L in water). After 4 moths, expressions of both mRNA and protein of Runx2 in rat bone tissue were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting. Results The results showed that the expression of Runx2 mRNA and protein in fluoride-treated bone tissue were 2.287 ± 0.261 and 0.929 ± 0.229, respectively, both of which were significantly higher than those of control group(0.995 ± 0.123,0.317 ± 0.068, t = 11.85,6.78, P < 0.05). Conclusions Fluoride can increase the expression of Runx2 mRNA and protein in bone tissue of rats, and Runx2 may be involved in the pathogenesis of bone injury caused by fluoride.

Objective:To study the expression of survivin gene in cervical carcinoma and its relation to the pathogenesis of cervical carcinoma. Methods:Using SP immunohistochemical technique,we examined 74 cervical tissues of clinicopathological specimens, including 10 normal cervical tissues,5 cervical intraepithelial meoplasia(CIN)lesions,59 invasive squamous cell carcinomas.Rusults:Expression of survivin were not observed in normal cervical tissues. With the lesions progressing ,the expression rate of survivin protein had a increasing tendency.Expression of survivin was related to the tumor grade and clinical stage. Conclusion:The results suggested that survivin expression is the essential event in carcinogenesis and development of cervical carcinoma.Survivin expression in cervical carcinoma is a useful prognostic marker.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine on postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in the elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical trachelectomy.MethodsSixty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients (aged 65-80 yr and weighing 55-74 kg) undergoing elective laparoscopic radical trachelectomy were randomly divided into two groups:30 patients received intravenous injection of dexmedetomidine 0.2 μg · kg - 1 ·h- 1 ( group D EX) and 30 received same volume of normal saline (control group, group NS) after induction of anesthesia.Cognitive function was assessed at 1 day before operation and on the 7th day after operation using a battery of nine cognitive dysfunction tests.ResultsCompared with group NS,on the 7th postoperative day,the incidence of POCD was decreased in group DEX ( P < 0.05 ).ConclusionDexmedetomidine can improve POCD in the elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radicaltrachelectomy.

Objective To observe effects of survivin antisense oligonucleotide on proliferation of human malignant melanoma cell in vitro in different transfection condition. Methods By using trypan blue exclusion method, this study screened optimized transfection condition that inhibited A375 cell viability. Results ① By the phosphorothiote-modification and the liposome-encapsulation,there were significant differences in ASODN with ASODNL.ASODNL were stronger in inhibiting A375 cell proliferation(P

Objective To study the expression of a novel inhibitor gene of apoptosis, survivin, in cervical carcinoma and its relationship with the expression of bcl 2, p53 genes Methods Using streptavidin biotin peroxidase (SP) method, we examined the expression of survivin, bcl 2 and p53 genes in 10 normal cervical tissues and 59 cervical carcinoma tissues Results Survivin was expressed in 41 of 59 (69 5%) cases of cervical carcinomas In contrast, normal cervical epithelium did not express survivin Overexpression of survivin was related to the tumor grade and clinical stage Survivin positive cases were strongly associated with bcl 2 expression (36/45, 80 0% versus 5 of 14 cases, P

AlM: To explore clinical efficacy of hyperosmotic glucose after cataract surgery.METHODS: Eighty eyes ( 80 cases ) with ll level and above grades corneal edema after small incision cataract operation were enrolled. They were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Control group used TobraDex eye drops and other conventional treatment and the treatment group received hyperosmotic glucose(500g/L) with the bases of the control group. The regression of corneal edema was observed by slit lamp microscope. SPSS 17. 0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis.RESULTS: The level of corneal edema at the first day after surgery, age, sexuality and nuclear hardness in the treated group were compared with those in the control group, the differences were without significances ( P>0. 05). Disappearance time of corneal edema was 4. 95 ± 3. 62d of the treatment group, and was 6. 80±3. 33d of the control group, the treatment group was better than control group (t=8. 55, P=0. 00).CONCLUSlON: Hyperosmotic glucose has exact and obvious efficacy for early corneal edema after cataract surgery.
