2.Functional targets of Chinese herbal medicine.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2010;8(12):1190-4
In order to elucidate the mechanisms of Chinese herbal medicine, much work has been done based on chemical constituent-target in the molecular system. It cannot comply with the holistic efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine. Thus, the authors of this paper proposed to study the functional target adopted from Western medicine. The data of Chinese herbal function were collected from 2005 edition of The People's Republic of China Pharmacopoeia. A total of 135 functional targets were found, and a network about functional target and mode of action was built. The authors also explored the applications of functional target and the network combined with Sijunzi Decoction and Mahuang Decoction. The results, reflecting the feature of Chinese herbal medicine, will not only be helpful to elucidate the holistic mechanisms of Chinese herbal medicine, but also beneficial to studying the theory of Chinese formulas and developing new formulas.
3.A preliminary study on ASPP1 mRNA expression level in tumor cell line
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(09):-
Objective To establish a reverse transcription-PCR(RT-PCR) assay for detecting ASPP1 mRNA expression levels in normal blood monocyte and leukemia jurkat,HL-60 and K-562 cell lines. And to analyze the differences in relative expression levels of ASPP1 in respective cell line by calculating the value of ASPP1/?-actin for evaluating the effects of ASPP1 on inhibiting the malignant transformation of normal cells. Methods The monocyte isolation reagent was used to isolate normal blood monocyte, and the RPMI 1640 medium was used to culture jurkat,HL-60 and K562 cell lines. The cell RNA was extracted with TripureTM reagent and amplified by RT-PCR.The amplified products were E.B.stained and 10?l of the products were used for agarose gel electrophoresis. The expression levels of ASPP1 mRNA and ?-actin in respective cell line were measured and then compared.Result The ASPP1 mRNA was expressed both in normal blood monocyte and all the leukemic cells. The value of ASPP1/?-actin was 0.545?0.019 in normal blood monocyte, and it was 0.155?0.081,0.199?0.016 and 0.191?0.015,respectively,in the leukemic cells jurkat,HL-60,and K-562.The expression level of ASPP1 mRNA was higher in normal cells than that in the three leukemic cell lines. Conclusion On the process of tumor development,an ASPP1-p53 compound is formed by collaborated effects of ASPP1 and p53,which may act on the arch-apoptosis gene promoter, specifically enhance the ability of p53 binding DNA,and reinforce the function of p53 in enhancing apoptosis. The declined expression and/or deprived function of ASPP1 might lead to tumorigenesis, implying that the function of ASPP1 in enhancing p53 apoptosis may play an important role on inhibiting the malignant transformation of normal cells.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(10):-
The intra-arterial thrombolysis is one of the most effective approaches in salvaging brain ischemic penumbra and treating acute cerebral infarction. However, because of the limita- tions of short time windows for treatment, intracerebral hemorrhage after thrombolysis and reocclusion, more clinical studies are needed before this technique is widely developed and applied.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2002;0(S1):-
Objective Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies with high incidence rate. Due to the progress made in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, even about 30%~50% of patients with no evidence of metastasis on the time of diagnosis have recurrences. The present study is to investigate the carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) mRNA,CEA protein expression in blood and to evaluate its clinical significance. Methods Peripheral blood samples were collected from 60 patients with colorectal cancer and 40 patients with colorectal polyp and 40 healthy volunteers. CEA mRNA was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and serum CEA was detected by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results The positive rate of CEA mRNA expression in blood samples of 60 patients with colorectal cancer was 68.3%. And one of the healthy volunteers was positive. But three of the 40 patients with colorectal polyp(7.5%) were positive. The positive rate increased with the pathological staging and liver metastasis, but there were no significant relations between the rate and the malignant extent of cell differentiation. Conclusion The expression of CEA mRNA in peripheral blood cells correlates with the pathological staging and liver metastasis of colorectal cancer, and it may be one of potential uses to monitor the micrometastases of tumor. In order to discover the precancerous change,we can detect CEA mRNA expression in blood with polyp of colon.
