5.Clinical Observation of Tong Du Wen Yang Needling for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2017;36(2):134-137
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Tong Du Wen Yang (unblocking the Governor Vessel and warming yang) in treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).Method Twenty-eight eligible ALS patients were randomized into two groups by following the visiting sequence. Thirteen patients in the control group were intervened by orally taking Riluzole tablets; 15 cases in the treatment group were by Tong Du Wen Yang needling in addition to oral administration of Riluzole tablets. Before treatment and after 6-month treatment, the therapeutic efficacies were evaluated by using the Chinese medicine syndrome and sign scoring for Wei-flaccidity diseases and Appel function scale.Result After the treatment, the Chinese syndrome and sign scoring scores for Wei-flaccidity dropped in both groups, and the decrease in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.05). The Appel scores dropped in both groups after the treatment, while the decrease in the treatment group was less significant than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Tong Du Wen Yang needling plus orally taking Riluzole tablets can produce a more significant efficacy than using Western medication alone in treating ALS.
6.Size changes of erythrocytes infected with Plasmodium malariae in thin pe-ripheral blood smears
Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control 2016;28(5):586-588
Objective To explore the size changes of erythrocytes infected with Plasmodium malariae,so as to improve the basic?level experimenters’microscopy capabilities for P. malariae identification in thin blood smears. Methods The micro?scopic features of erythrocytes infected with P. malariae in thin peripheral blood smears were observed, and a microscope image processing software was used to measure and analyze the diameter changes of the erythrocytes infected with P. malariae. Re?sults The diameter of erythrocytes infected with P. malariae decreased significantly compared with that of the normal erythro?cytes. The three parameters in this study:the diameter of erythrocytes, the value of diameter variation, and the ratio of diameter variation varied at different developmental stages of P. malariae, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.01). The variances of the three parameters grouped by different cases or different developmental stages in different cases were ana?lyzed, all showing statistically significant differences(all P<0.01). Conclusion All the developmental stages of P. malariae will cause the decrease of the diameters of infected erythrocytes in peripheral blood smears, but the influence on the diameter of erythrocytes, value of diameter variation, and ratio of diameter variation varies at different developmental stages in different cases.
7.The role of cardiac renin-angiotensin system in the development of volume-overload myocardial hypertrophy in rats
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
The present study was performed to determine whether or not that cardiacrenin-angiotensin system (RAS) plays an important role in volume-overload myocardialhypertrophy. In order to control the increase of circulating RAS, aortacava fistula withnephrectomy (ACF+NT) rats were used in the experiment. The ventricular angiotensin Ⅰ,Ⅱ (Ang Ⅰ,Ⅱ) contents and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) activities were measuredby means of radioimmunoassay and biochemical method. It was shown that in ACF+NTrats, the Ang Ⅱ contents and ACE activities in both left and right ventricles increasedsignificantly despite the plasma Ang Ⅰ, Ⅱ and renin activity remained at a lower level. These results indicate that: (1) Cardiac RAS as a relatively independent system, plays aregulatory role in the development of volume-overload cardiac hypertrophy; (2) The in-crease of Ang Ⅱ content was partly caused by the enhancement of ACE activities; (3) Atleast at the early stage of volume-overload cardiac hypertrophy, the circulating RAS maynot be a necessary promoter.

Objective To evaluate the method of plasmodium DNA template extraction from dried blood on filter paper . Methods Collectedand tested 47 blood samples of suspected imported malaria patients ,the DNA was extracted and tested by using conventional procedures and PCR ,then count and analyze test results of matched design .Results The Kappa value was 0 .492 when compared filter paper dried blood spots with thick and thin blood smear test results ,and the Kappa value was 0 .686 when com‐pared with whole blood sample .Using the results of thick and thin blood smear and whole blood samples as the gold standard to e‐valuate the sensitivity and specificity of filter paper dried blood spot method respectively ,the sensitivity was 75 .0% ,71 .4% and specificity was 78 .9% ,100 .0% .Conclusion Collected blood samples using filter paper can′t get good results in PCR test ,still needs further research .
9.Comparison of the curative effect of laparoscopy and laparotomy in surgical repair of gastric perforation
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2017;24(17):2570-2572
Objective To compare the the curative effect of laparoscopy and open operation in surgical repair of gastric perforation. Methods The clinical data of 68 patients with gastric perforation were analyzed.According to different operation method, the patients were diviede into laparoscopic group and laparotomy group,34 cases in each group. The patients in the two groups were given laparoscopy or laparotomy, respectively.ResultsThe operation time between the two groups had no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).The intraoperative blood loss, postoperative exhaust time, length of hospital stay in the laparoscopic group were (24.9±7.3)mL,(31.9±10.5)h,(7.4±2.9)d,respectively,which were significantly less than those in the laparotomy group, the differences were statistically significant (t=9.953,5.226,7.441,all P<0.05).The incidence rate of postoperative complications of the laparotomy group was 32.35%,which was significantly higher than 8.82% of the laparoscopic group, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.757,P=0.016).Conclusion The curative effect of laparoscopic downward gastric perforation repair is superior to laparotomy, patients have rapid recovery, less complications,it is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
10.Three-dimensional reconstruction and visualization of the fronto-ethmoidal cells based on CT images.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(20):1573-1576
OBJECTIVE:
Based on contiguous axial computed tomography (CT) images of the frontal sinus, a three-dimensional (3D) visualization and reconstruction of fronto-ethmoidal cells was performed using Intage Realia (version 2011) software to generate a model to accurately understand the anatomical structure of fronto-ethmoidal cells.
METHOD:
Retrospective analyses of nose CT scan data of 50 patients without sinusitis were performed. Using Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) images of sinus axial CT scans, the 3D visualization and reconstruction of the sinus was performed using the Achilles tendon and nasal passage modes in Intage Realia (version 2011) software on personal computers. Two segmentations were performed on the reconstructed sinus, and the structures of the agger nasi, frontal cells, and supraorbital cells and the relative locations of the frontal sinus drainage pathway and cells were observed.
RESULT:
The 3D visualization of the fronto-ethmoidal cells and frontal sinus drainage pathway was successful, allowing accurate observation of the anatomical characteristics of the fronto-ethmoidal cells.
CONCLUSION
The 3D visualization of fronto-ethmoidal cells can be reconstructed based on contiguous axial CT images of the sinus, allowing an accurate understanding of the anatomical structure of fronto-ethmoidal cells and is well prepared for frontal sinus surgeries.
