[Objective]To study the role of nitric oxide on the degeneration of the cartilage endplate(CEP).[Method]Twenty-four New Zealand rabbits were divided into experiment and control groups.In the experiment group,the model of lumbar CEP degeneration was established by resection of all lumbar supraspinous and interspinous ligaments,excision of parts of zygapophysial joints and detachment of the posterior paravertebral muscles from lumbar vertebraes.Mechanical instability of the lumbar spine could induced the process of CEP degeneration.The X-ray examination of lumbar spine was examined by at 12,24 and 36 weeks with or without operation,respectively.Changes of the ultrastructure of CEP were also observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM) during this process,and the content of IL-1?,IL-6,TNF-? in the CEP were also detected during the periods.[Result]X-ray graph showed that the CEP calcified gradually with time increasing,and those of the experiment groups calcified more obviously than those of the control groups.The SEM showed that collagen fibers became thin,irregular and fissured and the content of proteoglycan decreased severely with the elapse of time.The changes in experiment groups were more obvious than those in control groups.The content of IL-1?,IL-6,TNF-? had a significant difference between the experiment groups and the control groups(P0.05).[Conclusion]It implies that inflammatary cytokin may play an important role in the development and progression of the degeneration of cartilage endplate.

Purpose:To study the changes of t-PA ?u-PA expression and fibrinolysis molecular mark ers in patients with gastric or intestinal cancer in order to elucidate their cl inical significance. Methods:The plasma levels of t-PA ?u-PA ?u-PAR and PAP were measured by ELISA . Gen e transcription of t-PA?u-PA mRNA were detected by Real-time RT-PCR. Results:The plasma levels of u-PA?u-PAR and PAP were elevated in gastric or intestina l cancer patients ,while u-PA was markedly elevated in patients with local infi ltration?lymph node involvement or distal metastasis. u-PA mRNA was higher and t-PA was lower in gastric or intestinal cancer compared to normal tissue. Conclusions:Hyperfibrinolysis was an important factor related with m etastasis potential of gastric or intestinal cancer. t-PA may be a character of well differentiated tissue.

A simulating method for dripping process of Ginkgo biloba leaf dripping pills based on computational fluid dynamics was constructed. Ginkgo biloba leaf dripping pills was explored as the experimental subject to simulate the dripping process based on FLOW-3D software. The dripping process was simulated through the derivation of the governing equations, the selection of the models, and simulation parameters. Firstly, the droplet morphologies and drop speeds under different liquid viscosity were simulated. It was found that with the increase of the liquid viscosity, the drop speed decreased and the difficulty of droplet preparation gradually increased. The simulation results were consistent with the experiment results. Secondly, the droplet morphologies at different drop speeds were investigated and verified by experiments. It was found that the simulation results had a good correlation with the experiment results. The results shown that the viscosity of the liquid was the critical material attribute, and the drop speed was the critical process parameter, according to the droplet morphology. The establishment of the simulation method can deepen the understanding of the dripping process and provide a reference for the selection of raw materials and process parameters.

Objective To observe the effect of inhibition of polo like kinasel (Plk-1) gene expression on 5-Fu and CDDP induced apoptosis of gastric cancer cell line-MKN45 in vitro. Methods The Plk-1 expression was inhibited by chemically synthesized siRNA, the Plk-1 mRNA and protein level were measured by real-time PCR and Western blotting, MKN45 cells proliferation was measured by MTT method, the apoptosis rate was detected by flow-cytometry. Results After treatment by siRNA targeting Plk-1, Plk-1 mRNA level decreased by 51.91% .89.45%.91.03% at 24 h.48 h and 72 h, and Plk-1 protein level decreased by 38.43% and 60.66% at 48 h and 72 h, compared with control group. The proliferation of MKN45 cells treated by a combination of 5-Fu, CDDP and Plk-1 siRNA significantly slowed down when compared with treatment of 5-Fu, CDDP or Plk-1 siRNA(P

Objective To evaluate chest CT features of microscopic polyangiitis(MPA).Methods Clinical data and chest CT images of 66 patients diagnosed as MAP had been collected.Depending on clinical manifestations.the 66 cases were divided into the active group and the stable group.The data of two groups were analyzed by x2 test.Results Forty-three of 66(65.2%)CT images were abnormal including 32 of them in active group and 11 in stable group. In these patients,CT images showed ground glass opacities(53.5%),lung consolidations(23.2%),scattered patchy opacities(44.2%),ground glass opacities and/or lung consolidations(76.7%),reticular opacities(65.1%),honeycomb(14.0%),pleural effusions(48.8%),emphysema(18.6%),and mediastinal adenopathies(58.1%).Lung consolidations,ground glass opacities,scattered patchy opacities,mediastinal adenopathies,and pleural effusion in the active group are more common than that in the stable group(X2=4.479,4.083,4.053,9.697,9.345 respectively,P<0.05).Conclusion Chest CT features of in patients with MPA have difference between active and stable periods.The chest CT scan is a useful tool to diagnose MAP in different periods and guide the treatment.

OBJECTIVE: To study the therapeutic effect of treating knee arthropathy with total knee arthroplasty using rotating-platform knee prosthesis. METHODS: A total of 62 patients (74 knees) in Provincial Hospital Affiliated To Shandong University from January 2005 to January 2009 were selected, including 36 males (41 knees) and 26 females (33 knees), aged 52-79 years, mean aged 61.5 years; 28 cases with left knee, 22 cases with right knee and 12 cases of both knees. The cases were composed of 34 cases with osteoarthritis, 21 cases with rheumatoid arthritis and 7 cases with traumatic arthritis. All the patients received the total knee arthroplasty for the first time using rotating-platform knee prosthesis, no replacement of the patella. The clinical results of pre-operetion and after-operation were evaluated by the HSS knee rating score system. RESULTS: All the patients were followed-up for averaged 22 months (3-48 months) after operation. Incisions of all the cases were healed, and there was no infection and hematoma. Lower extremity deep venous thrombosis occurred in 2 cases at 3 days after operation. Swelling disappeared through drug treatment 10 days later. Pain and function of all the patients were obviously ameliorated after operation. The average HSS knee rating score was 44.99 (from 34 to 58) before total knee arthroplasty, which was improved to 88.78 (from 69 to 98), and the good-to-excellent rate was 98% (excellent 45 cases, good 16 cases, average 1 case). There were no signs of prosthetic dislocation or loosening in the X-ray films. CONCLUSION: Total knee arthroplasty using rotating-platform knee prosthesis owns advantages of easy surgical operation, tess complications, good recovery and satisfactory results in a short-term.
