Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of closed abdominal injuries in infants.Methods A retrospectively analysis of the clinical data of 84 infants with closed abdominal injury was made.Results Among the 84 cases, 60 cases had closed parenchymal visceral injury (32 cases of liver and 28 cases of spleen), 10 cases had small intestine perforation, and 14 cases had soft tissue contusion of abdominal wall. Non-operative treatment was used in 27 cases of liver injury and 22 cases of splenic injury, operative treatment in 5 cases of liver injury and 6 cases of splenic injury, and operative treatment for the 10 cases of other types of injury. All the 84 infant patients were cured.Conclusions In diagnosis and treatment of closed abdominal injuries in infants, abdominal centesis, type-B ultrasound and CT should be rationally chosen and applied in order to quickly determine location and extent of visceral injury; indications for operation should be under strict control. Non-operative treatment of parenchymal visceral injury of infants is proved to be safe and with a high cure rate.

Objective:To establish an HPLC method for the determination of related substances in piperazine ferulate. Methods:An HPLC method was used to determine the related substances in piperazine ferulate. The separation was performed on an Xtimate C18 column (250 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5 μm). The mobile phase was 0. 5% acetic acid-methanol-acetonitrile with gradient elution. The flow rate was 1. 0 ml·min-1 and the column temperature was 30℃. The detection wavelength was 286 nm and the injection volume was 20μl. Results:Ferulic acid had a good linear relationship within the range of 5-30 μg·ml-1(r=1.0000). The detection limit was 0. 02 ng. Conclusion:The method is reliable, simple, accurate, stable and durable, and suitable for the determination of related sub-stances in piperazine ferulate.

Objective To evaluate the performance of parallel test in detecting malaria infection for returned person from malaria endemic area.Methods The blood samples of 484 returnees from malaria endemic area were analyzed and detected by thick blood smear,rapid diagnostic test (RDT) and nest PCR in four companies involving the African labor dispatching.Results The sensitivi ty of thick blood smear and RDT was 0.628 and 0.744 respectively,which of the parallel test was 0.930.On the other hand,the area under the curve (AUC) of parallel test was 0.930 (95％CI:0.895-0.986),which was higher than thick blood smear[0.814 (95％CI:0.724-0.904)]and RDT[0.847 (95％CI:0.769-0.926)].Conclusion Thick blood smear and RDT,which consist of parallel test,could improve the detection sensitivity and accuracy for returnees from malaria epidemical area effectively.This approach is worthy of popularization and application.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method to determine and compare the contents of sodium benzoate in medicinal(phar-maceutical excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients) and non-medicinal (chemical reagents and food additives) grade. METHODS:HPLC was conducted for content determination,SPSS 18.0 software was adopted to compare the results. The column was Purospher STAR LP RP-18 endcapped with mobile phase of acetotrile-0.02% formic acid(adjusted pH to 4.0 with aqua ammo-nia)(30∶70,V/V)at a flow rate was 1.0 ml/min,the detection wavelength was 230 nm,column temperature was 35 ℃,and vol-ume injection was 20 μl. RESULTS:The linear range of sodium benzoate was 10.5-525.3 μg/ml(r=0.999 9);RSDs of precision, stability,reproducibility and durability tests were lower than 0.5%;recovery was 99.38%-101.26%(RSD=0.56%,n=9). The av-erage contents of sodium benzoate in medicinal and non-medicinal grade were between 99.400%-99.875%,but the average content of non-medicinal grade is lower than the medical grade. CONCLUSIONS:The method is accurate and simple with high specificity and good reproducibility,and can be used to determine and compare the content of sodium benzoate in medicinal and non-medici-nal grade.

Objective To explore the clinical value of different transcatheter arterial embolization methods for renal carcino-ma before radical nephrectomy.Methods The related data of 43 patients with renal carcinoma who were confirmed by surgical pa-thology were retrospectively analyzed.Renal artery,renal capsular artery and adrenal artery of lesion side kidney were super-selec-tive embolized before surgery was set as group A,while Lesion side renal artery embolized was set as group B.Direct surgical radical nephrectomy was set as group C.The related data of operation time,ease or complexity of operation,intraoperative blood loss,suc-cess rate of lesion resection and postoperative survival rate were analyzed and compared in the three groups with statistical meth-ods.Results There were significant differences among the three groups in the average operation time,ease or complexity of opera-tion,intraoperative blood loss,success rate of lesion resection and postoperative survival rate (P < 0.01 ).There were significant differences between group A and B about all indexes except success rate of lesion resection(P <0.01).Conclusion The cases with additional transcatheter arterial embolization before radical nephrectomy improved obviously,especially in the cases who underwent completely embolization of lesion side renal artery and renal capsular artery.

Objective To investigate the relationship between carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and coronary atherosclerosis plaque through coronary CT angiography (CTA) in asymptomatic individuals.Methods Two hundred and fifty cases with CTA screened were selected in asymptomatic individuals,and according to the inspection result they were divided into no plaque group (detection of no coronary atherosclerosis plaque,180 cases) and plaque group (detection of coronary atherosclerosis plaque,70 cases).All cases were checked carotid IMT with B-ultrasonic.Results ANOVAs analysis showed that age and body mass index (BMI) had significant correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P ＜ 0.05).x2 test was used to show the smoking and family history of coronary heart disease had significant correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P ＜ 0.05).Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that carotid IMT,systolic pressure,diastolic pressure,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,fasting serum glucose and creatinine had significant correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P ＜ 0.05).Multifactor Logistic regression analysis showed that carotid IMT had correlation with coronary atherosclerosis plaque (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion There is significant relationship between carotid IMT and coronary atherosclerosis plaque in asymptomatic individuals.

The management model “primary care in community,team service,first contact physician responsibility and two-way referral” was implemented for migrant workers with hypertension in the community.The hypertensive patients under the management for over six months were assigned as management group; the patients who were registered but not under management for over six months served as the control group.The number of new cases detected in hypertension screening increased from 32 in 2008 to 701cases in 2010; and number of hypertensive patients under management increased from 7 cases to 348 accordingly.A questionnaire survey was conducted in 464 hypertensive patients,including 196 cases in management group and 268 cases in control group with a response rate of 94.9％ (186/196) and 92.5％ (248/268) respectively.The results showed that drug compliance rate in management group (168/186,90.3％ ) was significantly higher than that in the control group ( 26.6％,66/248,P =0.00 ).The rate of blood pressure control in management group (87.1％,162/186 ) was significantly higher than that in the control group (25.8％,64/248,P =0.00).The overall satisfaction (98.9％) in management group was significantly higher than that in the control group (88.7％,P =0.00 ).The results indicate that implementation of the hypertension management in migrant workers improves the health seeking behavior and blood pressure control of patients.

AIM: Recent studies have identified the importance of inflammation in the development and progression of heart failure.Chemokines are essential factors in the recruitment and activation of leukocytes.They are closely related with inflammation.So the relation between chemokines expression and lymphocytes recruitment and cardiac function after acute myocardial infarction(AMI) was studied.METHODS: Ligating left interventricular branch induced AMI.Experimental rats were divided into three groups: heart failure group(MI-HF),non-heart failure group(MI-NF) and sham group(sham).Sham group was made by the same procedure only without ligation.The blood dynamics of rats was examined after 3 days,1 week and 2 weeks following ligation.Rats,which had a left ventricular end-diastolic pressure(LVEDP) above 15 mmHg,were considered to be in heart failure.Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to analyze the mRNA expression of chemokines,including monokine induced by IFN-?(MIG),macrophage inflammatory protein-1 alpha(MIP-1?) and regulated upon activation,normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES),in the infarcted region(circumjacent region included).The numbers of lymphocytes infiltrated in the infarcted region were also counted.RESULTS: MIP-1?,RANTES and MIG mRNA increased at 3 days and reached the peak at 1 week after AMI,significantly higher in MI-HF group than those in MI-NF group(RANTES,0.83?0.05 vs 0.51?0.19,P
