Chinese Journal of Radiology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of D98A,a newly developed superparamagnetic oral MRI contrast agent,in the diagnosis of abdomen. Methods Plain and contrast MRI after taking 500~1000 ml D98Ain 80 patients were performed by using different field strength MR scanners, and the sequences included T 1WI,T 2WI,and fat suppressed sequences. The contrast effect, distribution, influence on demonstration of contours of abdominal organs, and side effects were studied concerning this suspension. Results It showed that this oral contrast agent had good security character, wide consideration area, low cost, good contrast effect, and high value of clinical application. The gastrointestinal tracts appeared as hypointensity on various MR sequences, and thus, made them easy to be identified. The margins of abdominal organs were easier to be located after taking the contrast, and the distinction had statistical denotation. The demonstration rate of gastrointestinal tracts was raised from 10% to 89% after using D98A.There were no side-effects in all patients. Conclusion D98A is safe and effective in facilitating the localization of the abdominal organs. It can improve the accuracy in delineating the gastrointestinal tracts and in diagnosing the lesions of abdominal organs.
2. The regulatory effects of quercetin combined with DDP on Bcl-2 and Bax expressions in transplanted lung adeno-carcinoma in mice and their significance
Tumor 2008;28(5):386-389
Objective: To observe the inhibitory effects of quercetin combined with DDP on the growth of transplanted lung adenocarcinoma LA795 cells in T739 mice and detect the expression levels of Bel-2 and Bax and apoptotic index to explore the action mechanism for the combination therapy. Methods: Thirty-two T739 mice inoculated with LA795 lung adenocarcinoma cells were randomly divided into four groups with 8 mice in each group: control group (A), DDP treatment group (B), quercetin treatment group (C), DDP plus quercetin treatment group (D). The tumor growth was observed on day 16 after drug administration. All mice were sacrificed on day 24 after inoculation. The weight and volume of transplanted tumors were recorded. The expression levels of Bcl-2 and Bax were quantified using immunohistochemical method and image analyzing system. The apoptotic index of transplanted tumors was measured by TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling(TUNEL) method. Results: The growth of transplanted tumors in groups B, C, and D were significantly inhibited. The weight of tumor body in the three groups were markedly lower than that of group A. The tumor inhibitory rates were 38.57%, 26.03%, and 51.58% in groups B, C, and D, respectively. The inhibitory effect of quercetin combined with DDP on tumor growth was enhanced compared with quercetin or DDP alone treatment. The expression of Bcl-2 was significantly higher but Bax was significantly lower in group A compared with group B, C, and D. The difference between the drug therapy groups and control group was significant (P< 0.05 or P<0.01). The apoptotic index was significantly increased in the three drug therapy groups compared with control group and the difference was significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: The combination therapy for quercetin plus DDP significantly suppresses the growth of lung adenocarcinoma cells in mice. The action mechanism may be due to regulation of Bcl-2 and Bax expressions, thereby, inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis.

6. The regulatory effect of ginsenoside Rg3 on expression of somatostatin receptor in lung carcinoma allografts in mice and its significance
Tumor 2012;32(8):572-577
Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effects of ginsenoside Rg3 on the growth and metastasis of lung carcinoma allografts in mice, and to explore the possible mechanism. Methods: The mice bearing a metastatic variant of Lewis lung carcinoma were established, and then they were randomized to receive 0.9% sodium chloride solution (as a control), DDP (cisplatin), and ginsenoside Rg3 from the fourth day after transplant, respectively. Until the twenty-fourth day after transplant, the mice were sacrificed. The subcutaneous tumor was dissected, and the lung was removed. The inhibitory rate of tumor growth and the number of metastatic foci on the lung surface were counted. The expressions of SSTR (somatostatin receptor), VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and PCNA (proliferation cell nuclear antigen) in subcutaneous tumor were examined by immunohistochemistry. The apoptosis was detected by TUNEL (terminal transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling) method. Results: The inhibitory rates of tumor growth in DDP-treated group and the ginsenoside Rg3-treated group were 39.20% and 54.86%, respectively (P < 0.01). The numbers of metastatic foci on the lung surface in DDP-treated group and the ginsenoside Rg3-treated group were decreased by 30.25% and 58.57%, respectively (P < 0.05). The expression level of SSTR and the apoptosis index in the ginsenoside Rg3- treated group were higher than those in the control group and the DDP-treated group (P < 0.01), while the expression level of VEGF and the proliferation index of PCNA in the ginsenoside Rg3-treated group were decreased as compared with the control group and the DDP-treated group (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). Conclusion: Ginsenoside Rg3 can inhibit the growth and metastasis of lung carcinoma allografts in mice. The mechanism may be associated with the overexpression of SSTR. Copyright © 2012 by TUMOR.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2021;23(2):179-184
The ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the elbow is the primary stabilizer to resist valgus stress. Its injury is common in overhead throwing athletes, mainly caused by repeated valgus forces, and can cause elbow pain and affect the career of athletes. A common treatment of ulnar collateral ligament injury for overhead throwing athletes is ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction (UCLR). At present, the UCLR techniques have been constantly improved, mainly in graft structure, incision exposure, management of the ulnar nerve, and methods of humeral and ulnar fixation. This paper is to review the anatomy and biomechanics of UCL, as well as techniques, key points, postoperative complications and rehabilitation of UCLR so as to deepen the understanding of UCLR in clinicians.

Conclusion The polymorphism of HSL i6 was identified and the result suggests in Zunyi HSL as a candidate gene of glucose and lipid metabolism.
10.Inhibition of proliferation and apoptosis of human colon cancer cell sw480 cell line induced by the co-culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii
Chinese Journal of Zoonoses 2010;(3):229-234
To investigate the inhibitive effect of the co-culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii on the proliferation of human colon cancer cell line sw480 and/or its induced apoptosis and necrosis in vitro, the co-culture model of sw480 cells (1x10~6) was established with different number of Toxoplasma gondii (the concentration of tachyzoites was 2×10~6,4×10~6,8×10~6,16×10~6 respectively),and the co-culture supernatants were gathered 72 hours later. The sw480 cells were treated for different hours with different models of the co-culture supernatant. The parasitism and proliferation of Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites in sw480 cells was observed by Giemsa staining, and the growth inhibition rates of these cells were investigated by the CKK-8 method.Meanwhile, the apoptosis and necrosis of sw480 cells were detected with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fluorescence microscopy with Hochest 33258 staining to observe the morphological changes of sw480 cells.Agarose electrophoresis was used to detect the DNA change of sw480 cells, and flow cytometric analysis was used for investigation of rates of apoptosis and necrosis of these cells stained with Annexin-v-FITC/PI.It was found that the parasitism and proliferation of Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites in sw480 cells could be observed;and as demonstrated by the CKK-8 method, the inhibitive effect of the co-culture supernatant depended upon the treatment time, and a maximum inhibition ratio of 44.55% was detected at 48 hours. The karyopyknosis and karyorrhexis in the treated sw480 cells were observed under the fluorescence microscope;and the cellular necrosis were observed under TEM.In addition, the DNA fragments in the treated cells were revealed by agarose electrophoresis. In the flow cytometric analysis,a maximum prophase apoptosis rate of 11.54% was detected at 48 hours after treatment with the supernatants, while the rate of prophase apoptosis decreased, and the rates of advanced stage/necrosis increased markedly at the treatment time beyond 48 hours. It is concluded that the co-culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii and human colon cancer cell sw480 cell line can induce inhibition of proliferation, apoptosis and necrosis of this cell line in vitro.
