Background The combination procedure of the removal of silicon oil and cataract extraction+intraocular lens (IOL) implantation is the main method of treating cataract in silicone oil tamponade eye.However,the conventional measuring method of the IOL power is limiting in eyes with silicone oil tamponade.The IOL-Master system is confirmed to be an ideal non-contact optical measuring instrument in vivo.Objective The aim of this study is to measure the preoperative IOL power,evaluate the accuracy of biometry with the IOL-Master system and compare the relationship between different factors and refractive error.Methods IOL power was measured in 29 silicone oil tamponade eyes of 29 patients prior to the silicone oil removal combining IOL implantation with the IOL-Master system according to different factors such as placement time,axis oculi,complications and so on.The reasons of visual acuity recovery and measurement error were discussed.Results Postoperative visual acuity was improved in all of the patients.The average predictive refractive error was 0.329±0.846 (-1.5--2D).Classified factors for the cause of disease for axis oculi included rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD)(t=0.478,P=0.637),macular hole(t=0.135,P=0.895),myopia(t=0.435,P=0.667)and oil-placed time (good for less than 1 year).These factors showed an indirect relationship with errors.Conclusion Silicone oil removal combined with IOL implantation can improve visual acuity.The IOL-Master biometry is accurate,safe and convenient in measuring the IOL power in silicon oil temponade eye,but future research should be performed to decrease the measuring error.

Objective To investigate the treatment and mechanism of aminoguanidine in retina of diabetic of rats .Methods To-tal 60 rats were divided into control group(n=20) ,diabetic group(n=20) and aminoguanidine treatment group(n=20)which would be treated by aminoguanidine for 14 days .Then the eye tissue of rats were took after 14 days administration for pathological obser-vation(HE staining) ,and the induced nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) ,endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS) ,nerve type of nitric ox-ide synthase(nNOS) level and the expression of differences content and expression were investigated by ELISA ,Western blot and PT-PCR .Results HE staining showed that retinal tissue defects decreased and neuronal cells of rats in aminoguanidine treatment group were increased and significant (P<0 .05) compared rats in diabetic group .The iNOS content and expression of rats in amin-oguanidine treatment group were lower than diabetic group by ELISA ,Western blot and PT-PCR ,it was significantly difference (P<0 .05) and without significant difference between the normal group and diabetic group (P> 0 .05) .Compared with diabetes group ,iNOS ,eNOS ,nNOS protein expression in the rat retina in aminoguanidine treatment group were reduced (P< 0 .05) ,and without significant difference between the normal group and aminoguanidine treatment group (P>0 .05) .The iNOS mRNA expres-sion was lower than that of eNOS mRNA and nNOS mRNA in aminoguanidine treatment group .Conclusion Aminoguanidine can improve retinal tissue of diabetic rats with lesions ,the pathways may be selectively inhibit inducible nitric oxide synthase activity of iNOS .

Objective To elucidate the expression of gankyrin in human gastric cancer cells and it's role in nimesulide induced apoptosis. Methods Four human gastric cancer cell lines including MKN28 (well differentiated), AGS (poorly differentiated), MKN45 (poorly differentiated), and SGC7901(moderately differentiated) were cultured and treated with nimesulide. Nimesulide induced growth inhibition and apoptosis of the cells were detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay, and confirmed by flow cytometry. The expressions of gankyrin gene and protein were further assessed by real-time PCR and Western blotting. Results Gankyrin mRNA and protein were detected in all four human gastric cancer cell lines. The proliferations of AGS and SGC7901 cell lines were significantly suppressed by nimesulide in a time-dose dependent manner. When treated with 400 μmol/L of nimesulide for 48 hours, the significant apoptosis was found in AGS cells (23.30%±2.50%) and SGC7901 cells (16.80%±1.55% ) in comparison with controls (0.57%±0.19% and 0.88%± 0.17%, respectively, all P values <0.01). Apoptosis of AGS cells induced by nimesulide was accompanied by a considerably decreased gankyrin expression that was more significant at 24 hours (0.0035±0.0014) and 36 hours (0.0980±0.0160) in comparison with controls (0.4690±0.1190, all P values<0.01). Conclusion Gankyrin expresses in human gastric cancer cell lines and may be involved in nimesulide induced apoptosis of AGS cells.

Objective To assess the effect of case-based learning (CBL) in ophthalmology teaching.Methods Lecture based learning combined with CBL was applied in ophthalmology teaching for 19 undergraduates majored in clinical medicine of 2007 grade from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.Questionnaire survey was conducted for students after the course ended to understand their evaluation on CBL.Proportion of selected data was analyzed comparatively.Results 100％ (19/19) students believed that CBL was essential in ophthalmology teaching and rational at the end of course.84.2％ (16/19) students accounted that CBL could only be assistant teaching method.94.7％ (18/19) and 84.2％ (16/19) students considered that CBL was beneficial for cognition of eye diseases completely and clinical thinking formation.4-6 class hours for CBL were approved by 73.7％ (14/19) students.Conclusions CBL is essential in ophthalmology teaching and is accepted and supported by students,therefore it should be the main assistant teaching method.

AIM: To study the EBV LMP-1 gene integrated in the chromosome of poorly differentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line SUNE-1. METHODS: The LMP-1 gene of SUNE-1 was detected with PCR; Deletion of LMP-1 was examined by restriction endonuclease analysis and PCR. The deletion was precisely localized by DNA sequencing. RESULTS: The LMP-1 gene integrated in the chromosome of SUNE-1 could be deleted or non-deleted. The two introns of LMP-1 gene were shown being lost in SUNE-1 cell line. CONCLUSION: Deletion of intron 1 and intron 2 happen in some of the LMP-1 gene integrated in the chromosome of SUNE-1.

Objective: To investigte the efficacy of docetaxel combined with androgen deprivation therapy for the treatment of metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer based on Chinese population. Methods: A total of 497 patients were enrolled from January 2004 to July 2018 in the Changhai Hospital. 459 patients received androgen deprivation therapy alone and 38 patients received androgen deprivation therapy combined with docetaxel. The mean age was (72.1±8.7)years. The median PSA level was 100.0 ng/ml, ranging 42.3-999.0 ng/ml. Patients of clinical T₂, T₃, T₄ stage were 213(42.9%), 160(32.2%), 124(24.9%), respectively. Patients of clinical N₀, N₁, N_x stage were 319(64.2%), 144(29.0%), 34(6.8%), respectively. Patients of clinical M₀, M_1a, M_1b, M_1c, M_x stage were 100(20.1%), 51(10.3%), 332(66.8%), 9(1.8%), 5(1.0%), respectively. Gleason scores of biopsy showed that 146(29.4%) patients was ≤7, 103(20.7%) was 8 and 248(49.9%)was ≥9. Propensity score matching was used to match the baseline between groups. Caliper value was set at 0.02. SPSS 22 software was used to achieve a 1∶1 match between the two groups. There were no statistical difference in the age(P=0.102), PSA(P=0.713), T stage(P=0.113), N stage(P=0.226), M stage(P=0.514), Gleason score(P=0.612), tumor loading(P=0.812)between the two groups. The castration resistance-free rate and cancer specific survival rate of the two groups were compared by log-rank and breslow-wilcoxon test. Furthermore, forest plots were used to display the analysis results of different subgroups such as age, PSA, clinical stage, Gleason score, tumor load, whether patients had received palliative resection, and the differences in castration resistance-free rate were compared between the subgroups with high tumor load. Results: The median follow-up time was 22.6 months in the androgen deprivation therapy group and 13.7 months in the combined therapy group. The number of patients with castration resistance in the two groups was 23 and 17, respectively. There were 3 and 6 deaths, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in the overall progression time to castration resistance between the two groups (10.3 m vs. 16.5 m, P>0.05), and no statistically significant difference in the prostate cancer specific survival rate (21.9 m vs.14.8 m, P>0.05). When subgroup analysis was performed, it was found that patients in the high-metastasis-volume subgroup who received the combination therapy had a significantly longer castration resistance free lifetime (10.6 m vs. 7.2 m, P=0.044), but there was no significant difference in the low- metastasis-volume subgroup(10.5 m vs.12.6 m, P>0.05). Conclusion Docetaxel combined with androgen deprivation therapy can improve the castration resistance free rate in patients with high metastasis volume, but not in low metastasis volume group.

Objective:To investigate the current situation of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in infants in Lishui, and summarize the related factors of CMV infection, evaluate its influence on the growth and development of infants, and provide evidence for the prevention and control of CMV infection.Methods:In this study, 2 254 cases of infants admitted in pediatric ward in Lishui Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Qingtian County People′s Hospital, Suichang County People′s Hospital, Qingyuan County People′s Hospital from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2017 with integral clinical data were selected. All the babies were followed up from the time when they were born to 1 year old. The serum CMV antibody and the urine CMV-DNA were screened, the general situation and clinical features of CMV infection were summarized, and the relevant factors of infants CMV infection were analyzed and screened by the single factor and multiple factors analysis. They were followed up to 1 year old to clarify the influence of CMV infection on the growth and development of infants.Results:From 2015 to 2017, the total positive infection rate of CMV-IgM in infants under 1 year old in Lishui was 10.43%(235/2 254), and CMV-IgM positive infection decreased year by year. The positive rate of CMV-IgG did not change significantly with time. The positive rate of CMV-IgM was the highest at 1—3 months, and up to 15.29% (61/399). The positive rate of CMV-IgM decreased with the age of the babies. The positive rate of CMV-IgG increased with the age of the babies. The positive rate of CMV-IgM in infants showed no significant difference in gender ( P>0.05). The positive rate of CMV-IgM was higher in men than that in women [65.43% (810/1 238) vs. 55.51% (564/1 016)], and there was significant difference ( P<0.05). The gestational age of the infected group was lower than that of the non-infected group [(37.41 ± 1.63) weeks vs. (38.97 ± 0.97) weeks], and the breast-feeding rate of the infected group was higher than that of the non-infected group [57.87%(136/235) vs. 40.00%(40/100)], and there were significant differences ( P<0.05). Thrombocytopenia, the increase of transaminase, necrotizing enterocolitis of newborn, and hepatosplenomegaly of infected group is higher that of the non-infected group [18.72%(44/235) vs. 1.00% (1/100), 29.36% (69/235) vs. 13.00% (13/100), 26.81% (63/235) vs. 10.00% (10/100), 9.79% (23/235) vs. 0], and there were significant differences ( P<0.05). Gestational age and breast-feeding were possible risk factors for CMV infection in infants under 1 year old ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in height, weight, head circumference and intelligence score between the infected group and the non-infected group at the age of 1 year ( P>0.05). The total abnormal rate of hearing development and the abnormal detection rate of B-ultrasound in the infected group were higher than those in the non-infected group [13.62%(64/470) vs. 1.00%(2/200), 6.38%(15/235) vs. 0], and there were significant differences ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The CMV active infection rate of infants under 1 year old in Lishui is relatively high and decreases year by year. It decreases with the prolongation of birth time, and there is no gender difference. Gestational age and breast-feeding are the risk factors for active CMV infection in infants. CMV infection affects the hearing development and the brain development of infants under 1 year old, which is the main cause of hepatitis. It is necessary to pay attention to the prevention of CMV infection, strengthen maternal perinatal health care, and strengthen the screening of CMV infection in high-risk groups.
