OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of Yiweining Recipe (YWNR), a compound Chinese herbal medicine, on expressions of metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) mRNAs in rats with endometriosis (EM). METHODS: Operational self-transplantation was applied in establishing the rat models. Detection of MMP-2 and COX-2 mRNAs was conducted with hybridization in situ. RESULTS: There were significant differences in the expressions of MMP-2 and COX-2 mRNAs between the untreated group and the high-dose YWNR-treated group. YWNR could reduce the expressions of MMP-2 and COX-2 mRNAs. CONCLUSION: YWNR can treat EM through reducing the positive expressions of MMP-2 and COX-2 mRNAs.

Objective: To expound the effect of Yiwei Ning in treating endometriosis through measuring Fas/FasL protein expression.Method:The female Wistar rats were divided into five groups randomly. After 8 weeks of administration, expression of Fas/FasL protein were determined. Results: There were significant difference in the positive expression of Fas/FasL protein between Yiwei Ning group and the control group(P

Objeetive To analyze the clinicopathologic features of proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy and the efficacy of prednisone therapy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted, enrolling 50 patients with biopsy-proven primary proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy who were admitted in the Hospital from January 2005 to June 2015-26 males and 24 females, mean age (36.8 ± 10.4) years.Clinicopathologic features and prednisone therapeutic effect were analyzed. Results The clinical manifestations of 50 cases were nephritis syndrome with varying degrees of renal insufficiency, including 32 cases (64.0%) with hypertension,15 cases (30.0%) with microscopic hematuria.Renal biopsy showed the incidence of glomerular global sclerosis was 17.0%-47.2%,tubular atrophy/ interstitial fibrosis outstanding (T0 50%,T1 32%,T2 18%).After prednisone treatment, compared with sustained remission group and relapse group, invalid patients had higher incidence of hypertension (P < 0.05),relatively lower Hb (P < 0.01) and serum albumin, more significant renal dysfunction (P < 0.01),more severe glomerular global sclerosis, segmental sclerosis, tubular atrophy/ interstitial fibrosis, while the lower interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration.During the follow-up,which lasted from 6 to 132 months (median 27.3 months),the effective rate of treatment was 74.0% after sufficient prednisone or half dose prednisone therapy.Repeated recurrence rate was 32.0%.At the end of the follow-up period,13(26.0%) patients entered the stage of uremia. Conclusions Application of glucocorticoids in the treatment of proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy can protect renal function and delay the progression of renal impairment. The efficacy of glucocorticoids therapy is significantly associated with the presence or absence of hypertension, the degree of renal function impairment, and the severity of the onset of renal pathology.

Objective To compare biomechanical properties between the anatomical clavicle plate and the reconstructed clavicle plate, and investigate the influence of pre-bending or repeated bending process on biomechanical properties of the reconstructed clavicle plate, so as to provide biomechanical evidence for treating midshaft clavicle fracture in clinic. Methods The reconstructed clavicle plate was bent by 1, 2, 3, 5 times respectively based on shape of the anatomical clavicle plate. The biomechanical differences in anatomical plate group, reconstructed plate group and pre-bending plate group were compared by static compression test. Results The fixation stiffness and strength of the anatomical plate were better than those of the reconstructed plate. There was no significant difference in stiffness and strength between the anatomical plate group and one-time bending group. Pre-bending had a great effect on mechanical properties of the clavicle plate, and stiffness and strength of the clavicle plate were obviously improved after one-time bending. The mechanical properties of the clavicle plate were obviously reduced by bending of the clavicle plate after one-time bending. Conclusions The stiffness and strength of the anatomical plate and one-time bending plate are higher than those of the normal reconstructed plate. It is recommended that surgeons should perform bending appropriately according to the patient’s clavicle anatomy when using the reconstructed clavicle plate for fracture fixation, and minimize the number of repeated bending to maintain stiffness and strength of the clavicle plate.
