Objective To explore the relationship between retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness and central corneal thickness (CCT) in myopia eyes.Methods 91 cases (91eyes) were selected from ophthalmological outpatients including 28cases with low myopia ( spherical equivalence [ SE ] ＞ -3.0D), 33 cases with moderate myopia (SE -0.3D ～ -6.0D) and 30 cases with high myopia (SE ＜ -6.0D).All patients received ocular standard examination including intraocular pressure, refraction, slitlamp biomicroscopy and fundus examination.Other ocular diseases except refractive error were excluded.RNFL thickness and CCT were measured by RTVue Fourior-OCT ( Optovue Inc, USA).Refraction diopter was shown as SE.Results The mean RNFL thickness and CCT was ( 108.5 ± 10.1 ) μm, (524.7 ±36.8)μm respectively.These were no significantly different among low, moderate and high myopia ( P ＞ 0.05 ).Temporal RNFL thickness( tl1 ,tu1 ) was significantly positive related with CCT( r =0.281,0.093 of tl1, r= 0.352,0.167 of tu1 respectively in single and multiple variable analysis; P ＜ 0.05 ), nasal ( nl2, nu2)and inferior nasal RNFL thickness( in2,in1 )was significantly positive related with SE( P ＜0.05), inferior temporal RNFL thickness( it2)was significantly negative related with SE( P ＜0.05), and RNFL thickness in other regions were not significant related with CCT and SE ( P ＞ 0.05 ) in single and multiple variable regressive analysis.Conclusion Relationship between RNFL thickness of local paradisc region and CCT in myopia eyes suggested that CCT should be correlative with some sensible structural parameters in glaucomatous neuropathy and might be important in the diagnosis and therapy of glaucoma.

Pleural effusion is one of the common complications after abdominal surgery, which has a high incidence rate. It not only extends the length of hospital stay and increases the economic burden, but also may affect the prognosis of patients or even endanger lives. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment of pleural effusion are important for postoperative rehabilitation. So far,the relationship between pleural effusion and clinical pathological factors of postoperation has not been revealed clearly and definitely. Preventive measures and the causes are summarized by reading a large number of literatures and combining with clinical experience to reduce incidence rate.

Objective To explore the feasibility and t he efficacy of laparoscopic splenectomy of massive splenomegaly in the treatment o f hereditary spherocytosis in children. Methods Seven children with massive splenomegaly underwent laparoscopic splenectomy. Their age ranged 1~14 years (mean, 8.8 years), and their body weight was 10~57 kg (mean, 33.8 kg) . Three children had an accompanying cholelithiasis: 2 of them received a concom itant cholecystectomy and 1 of them, cholecystotomy. Results A ll the operations were successfully performed under laparoscope, and hand-assist ed splenectomy through a small incision was applied in 1 child because of bleedi ng of the splenic vein. The duration of operation was 50~150 min (mean, 90 min), the intraoperative blood loss was 30~500 ml (mean, 117 ml), and the length of h ospitalization, 4~10 d (mean, 5.5 d). Sample of Pingle Jiegu Dan was extracted with methanol, n-butyl ethanol and absorbed with coarse-hole resin, and its total saponin content of notoginseng was determined with spectrophotometry. The result was reproducible. This method effectively excludes the interferential elements in a complex preparation and can be employed as a method for quantitative analysis. Meanwhile, it also provides a reference for the quantitative analysis of preparation containing notoginseng.

AIM　To assess the pharmacokinetic profile of single doses of meloxicam in healthy Chinese volunteers. METHODS　The plasma concentrations of meloxicam after an oral dose of 15 mg to twenty healthy male volunteers were analized by means of a validated HPLC method. The pharmacokinetic parameters were subjected to Shapiro-Wilk test to determine whether these data were fitted to a normal distribution. RESULTS The twenty volunteers can be classified into extensive metabolizers and poor metabolizers according to pharmacokinetic parameters. The main parameters in the two groups obtained were as follows: T1/2 were 21±4 and 38±9 h, AUC0-∞ were 49±10 and 110±8 μg*h*mL-1, respectively. Even the AUC data in extensive metabolizers were 1.7 times as that reported in White volunteers following the same doses of meloxicam. CONCLUSION　There were significant individual differences in the pharmacokinetics of meloxicam in Chinese volunteers, which may be due to the genetic polymorphism of CYP2C9.

Objective To study the testicular breeding function and p63 expression in seminiferous tubules in androgen receptor(AR)knockout mice.Methods Eight AR knockout mice selected by Cre-lox and 8 Wistar male mice were studied.Testicular breeding function was determined by Makler score and p63 was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results Seminiferous tubules inner diameter deflated in AR knockout group than in Wistar group(60.0±1.5 μm vs 92.05±2.0μm,P＜0.01),peri-tube membrane thickened(4.0±0.7 μm vs 2.85=0.9 μm,P＜0.01),the number of cell layer decreased(2.0±0.3 vs 4.0±0.2,P＜0.01),generative eell maturation arrested(3.0±1.2 score vs 5.05±0.5 score,P＜0.01),Makler score was lower(8.0±0.3 vs 16.0±0.5,P＜0.01).p63 expression was lower in AR knockout group than in Wistar group and the expression was located at the stage of spermatogenous cell and spermatocyte.Conclusion Testicular breeding sperm function is damaged in AR knockout mice,lower expression of p63 mainly affects early differentiation in generative cells.

Objective To explore diagnosis capability of macular ganglion cell complex (mGCC)and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer(pRNFL) thickness for glancoma. Methods Adult outpatients received ocular regular examinations of glaucoma in our hospital were enrolled in this study. Parameters of pRNFL and mGCC measured by Fourier optic coherence tomography(OCT) were evaluated. Results 116 subjects ( 116 eyes) included 51 (44. 0% ) normal subjects, 30(30. 2% ) early glaucoma patients and 35 (25.9%) advanced glaucoma patients. There were significantly different pRNFL and mGCC thickness among the three groups ( F = 83.022,97. 361,27. 899,79. 585,140. 686,119. 166,116. 234, 90. 855,64. 341,133.064, P ＜0. 0l ). Area under Receive Operated Curve (AROC) of all pRNFL parameters in early glaucoma except nasal ( P ＞ 0. 05 ) and mGCC parameters had significantly diagnostic capability ( Need to be corrected by authors) ( pRNFL:0. 796 ±0. 049;mGCC:0. 748 ±0. 055, P ＜0. 05). As to the whole glaucoma, AROC of pRNFL and mGCC parameters had significantly diagnostic capability ( pRNFL:0. 889 ±0. 029; mGCC: 0. 862 ±0. 034, P ＜0. 01 ). Through AROC pairwise comparisons, the diagnosticpower of almost pRNFL and mGCC parameters had no difference ( P ＞ 0. 05) except that temporal, superior pRNFL thickness were significant higher than focal loss of volume (FLV) of mGCC ( P ＜ 0. 05 ). Conclusion The measurement of pRNFL thickness might still be used as a main method on diagnosis of glaucoma and mGCC could serve as a new beneficial complement tool for detection of glaucoma.

Objective To assess visibility of scleral spur in images of anterior chamber angle measured by the CAM model of Fourier optic coherence tomography (OCT). Methods Subjects aged 40 years or older were selected from outpatients in our opthalmologic clinic. All participants underwent standard ocular examinations, and anterior chamber angle was measured by CAM-L model of RTVue-OCT (Optovue Inc,USA) and gonioscopy. Visibility of scleral spur in OCT images and its related factor were analyzed. Results 98 subjects (98 eyes) aged (63.3±10.5)y included 62 females (63.3%) were selected in this study. There were 286 in 392 quadrants (73.0%) with visualized scleral spur, which had significant difference among local bulbar conjunctiva thickened or not (P＜0.01). Logistic multiple regression showed that the visibility of scleral spur was not associated with gender, age, gonioscope grades (P＞0.05), but significant associated with local bulbar conjunctiva thickened (OR＝0.113, P＜0.01) and quadrants (OR of superior/temporal＝0.210, OR of inferior/temporal＝0.340, P＜0.01), of which there were different scleral spur visibility in superior and inferior quadrants compared with temporal(OR＝0.210, 0.340, P＜0.01). Angle status was still identified in 80.2% quadrants on condition that scleral spur was not visualized. Conclusions Fourier optic coherence tomography has good feasibility to detect anterior chamber angle as an alternative method, and may supply helpful information to estimate the pathogenesis of angle closure glaucoma.

Objective: To investigate the serum anti-mumps IgG antibody levels among children aged 0 to 4 years in Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into improvements for mumps vaccination program. Methods: Children aged 0 to 4 years were sampled from Haishu District using a stratified random sampling method in 2016 (before adjustment of the mumps vaccination program) and 2022 (after adjustment of the mumps vaccination program). Participants' demographics were collected using questionnaires, and the coverage of mumps-containing vaccines was collected from the Ningbo Municipal Immunization Information System. Serum anti-mumps IgG antibody was measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the seroprevalence of anti-mumps IgG antibody and geometric mean concentration (GMC) were estimated among children aged 0 to 4 years in 2016 and 2022. Results: A total of 464 children were enrolled in 2016, including 250 boys (53.88%) and 214 girls (46.12%), and there were 301 children receiving mumps-containing vaccines (64.87%). The seroprevalence of anti-mumps IgG antibody were 48.08%, 34.44%, 81.11%, 84.44% and 84.44%, and GMC were 233.86, 351.77, 333.66, 362.29 and 410.72 U/mL. A total of 456 children were recruited in 2022, including 236 boys (51.75%) and 220 girls (48.25%), and there were 427 children receiving mumps-containing vaccines (93.64%). The seroprevalence of anti-mumps IgG antibody were 72.73%, 95.00%, 100.00%, 98.68% and 99.04%, and GMC were 524.05, 1 229.69, 1 623.64, 788.01 and 738.41 U/mL. Higher seroprevalence and GMC of anti-mumps IgG antibody was seen in 2022 than in 2016 among children at all age groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Following adjustment for vaccination programs, the seroprevalence and GMC of anti-mumps IgG antibody significantly increased among children at ages of 0 to 4 years in Haishu District.
