Objective:A modificated emergency medical care system was designed based on business process reengineering to offer the emergency patients a more satisfactory medical service.Methods:From Jan.to Mar.in 2005 and the same period in 2006,200 emergency patients were investigated(100 cases for each time period) in a general hospital.The data of the 100 patients acquired in 2005 were served as the control group and those of the other 100 patients acquired in 2006 were served as the research group.A series measure of emergency medical service,such as computerizing administration of the patient history,utilizing the network transmission and sharing system of pictures,automatizing price system and re-integrating auxiliary examination labs,were applied in the aim of shortening the waiting times for charging,examination,etc.Results:Better satisfaction to the advanced emergency medical service process was found in the research group.The patients' waiting times for receiving diagnosis and treatment,laboratory examinations and paying fees in the research group were statistically shortened compared to those in the control group(P

Objective:To examine the soft tissue changes of early skeletal Class III malocclusion patients after maxillary protraction treatment. Methods:60 skeletal anterior crossbite patients, 27 males, 33 females in the late mixed dentition were selected. The age ranged from 8 to 11 years. Mean age was 9.3 years. The patients were divided into treatment group and control group. Average treatment time was 12.1 months. Pre- and post-treatment lateral cephalograms of both groups were traced and analyzed. Difference between pre- and post-treatment was analyzed with paired t-tests. Results:After treatment, Ns-Sn-Pos, Ns-Prn-Pos, Sn-S-Si and Cm-Sn-UL decreased significantly,while Sn-Ns-Si and UL-E increased significantly. No significant change was found in S-Ns-Sn and LL-E. Conclusion:Soft tissue profiles are significantly improved by maxillary protraction treatment in the late mixed dentition. The concave profiles were changed to straight or nearly normal profiles. The relationship among nose, upper lip, lower lip and chin become harmonious. The curve of the lips tends to be smooth and harmonious.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect on thymus radiotherapy in the patients with myasthenia gravis (MG).Methods The clinical data of 68 patients with MG treated by thymus radiotherapy (X ray radiotherapy in the deep for 22 cases, 60 Co treatment for 46 cases)in our hospital from 1957 to 1999 were analysed retrospectively.The patients were followed up long term.Results Total remission rate of patients with MG treated by radiotherapy was 90%.Clinical results were significant,the life quality of patients with MG improved greatly.The side effect with the skin injury for 10 cases and the alimentary canal symptom for 9 cases were found mostly.Conclusion The following patients can obtain obvious therapeutic effect with radiotherapy,they are those with poor efficiency to drugs,those with invasive thymoma during the operation,those with instable symptoms after the operation.

Objective To find the changes and effects of nitric oxide synthase activity in atherosclerotic rabbit models. Methods Thirty rabbits were divided into 3 groups at random: control group, atherogenic diet group, balloon-injury+ atherogenic diet group. Three months later underwent pharmacological triggering with Chinese Russell’s viper venom and histamine to make the plaque rupture. Lipid concentrations and the levels of nitric oxide (NO), NOS and hydroxy radical (OH) in the serum were obtained at different period, and pathologic changes were observed. Results In atherogenic diet group and balloon-injury+ atherogenic diet group, serum lipid concentrations markedly increased, but the levels of NO did not show any difference. The activity of NOS and OH levels were obviously increased after the atherogenic diet. But it reduced after pharmacological triggering and plaque rupture. Conclusion In early period of atherosclerosis, NOS activity up regulated and endothelium functions were compensated. But, When the atherosclerotic plaques were unstable, the activity of NOS descended obviously and endothelium function goes into incompensation.

Objective: To observe the effects of autotransplantatio n of costochondral graft in the defects in temporomandibular joint. Methods: Twenty New Zealand white rabbits aged 3 months were div ided into 4 groups: the animals in group A received autotransplantation of 4 mm costochondral graft and in group B received that of 1 mm after excision of the disk, condyle and upper part of the ramus. The rabbits in group C received the same excision operation without graft transplantation as surgical controls and those in group D were used as healthy controls. Samples of temporomandibula r joint were obtained and examined by X-ray cephalometry and histopathology. Objective:To compare the effects of distal movement of canines between elastic traction and canine lace back in the aligning stage of preadjusted appliance. Methods:50 cases with Angle I malocclusion were divided into two groups after first premolar extraction. Patients in both groups were treated by the same kind of preadjusted appliance in the aligning stage. Canine lace back was used in one group and elastic traction in another.Treatment was countinued for 12 weeks.Measurements of the dental models and the cephalograms were conducted before and after treatment.Results:Compared to the canine lace back, the decrease of the width between the cuspids of upper premolars and that between that of lower molars, the increase of the angle of the distally tipped canines and the mesially tipped lower molars and the lingually tipped incisors, the higher speed and larger distance of distal moving canines were achieved more easy with elastic traction. On the contrary, the larger distance of mesial moving molars were attained with canine lace back. The differences of all the measurements above between the two methods were significant(P

Objective: The topographical mapping technique of brain evoked potential was used to observe the changes of the functional activities in the cortical somatosensory area I (SⅠ) during imitating the sensation conduction along the Meridian (SCM). The formation mechanism of sensation conduction was discussed here. Method: 26 healthy adult volunteers were chosen as observe object. Cerebral electric signal processing system was used to record topographical mapping of evoked potential in SⅠ outside the skull. Soft paintbrush was used to slightly brush the Gall Bladder Meridian (GBM) to imitate the sensation conduction. Result: Evoking responses appeared in both foot and face representation areas in SⅠ of 11 healthy volunteers without conduction sensation during imitation of sensation conduction along the GBM (SCGBM), which coincided with the distribution of responses evoked in SI during sensation conduction along Meridian . 15 healthy volunteers were offered imitation of SCGBM as well as brushing through the upper arm additionally, while, the results showed that the evoking responses appeared in the foot, the upper arm and the face representation area of SⅠ. So, it formed a high potential response belt that was similar to the course occurred during the imitation of SCM. Conclusion: The external stimulation along the meridian course can change the distribution of evoking responses in SⅠduring stimulating point. The results provide experimental evidence for the supposition that “activation in sequence in periphery” is the decisive factor for the formation of SCM.

Leukotriene B4 is a small metabolite of phospholipid in membrane through PLA2,5-LO, LTA4 hydrolase and other related enzymes. It is been synthesized in almost all kinds of tissue cells, then transported to outside of the cells, which may be separated from its synthesis. LTB4 shows complex bioactivities, especially in inflam-mation, immune system and plays an important role. Its functions are mediated by its different receptors on the membrane. Also, LTB4 interacts with other cytokines, and they form a network regulating functions of the body.
