The effects of carbon source, Sodium glutamate, salinity, and incubation temperature on the growth of Thraustochytrium aureum H0 and the production of docosahexaenoic acid were studied. The time course of the cell growth of Thraustochytrium aureum H0 was determined. The results showed that glucose is the best carbon souce and the optimum concentrations of glucose and Sodium glutamate are 30g ? L-1 and 5g ? L-1 respectively. The suitable salinity is half of salinity of sea water. Under the optimum culture conditions, 6. 2g ? L-1 of the dry cell weight and 0. 51g ? L-1 of the docosahexaenoic acid were obtained.

Objective To detect serum concentrations of Dickkopf-1(DKK-1) and soluble receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (sRANKL) in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and to investigate its clinical significance. Methods Serum DKK-1, sRANKL, osteoporotegerin(OPG) and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP-5b) levels were quantified in 30 newly diagnosed MM patients and 20 healthy control subjects by using sandwich ELISA. Results The serum DKK-1, sRANKL,OPG and TRACP-5b levels were significantly higher than those in the healthy controls (42.96 μg/L vs 5.33 μg/L, 1.83 pmol/Lvs 0. 79 pmol/L, 1799. 30 pmol/L vs 822.40 pmol/L, 5.81 U/L vs 0. 28 U/L, respectively; all P＜0. 05). Serum levels of DKK-1 were positively correlated with sRANKL and TRACP-5b, respectively.Serum concentrations of DKK-1 and sRANKL were significantly elevated in stage Ⅲvs stages Ⅰ and Ⅱaccording to International Staging System (ISS) (46. 33 μg/L vs 37.91 μg/L, 2.26 pmol/L vs 1.19pmol/L, respectively, all P ＜0.05). Serum concentrations of DKK-1 , sRANKL and TRACP-5b were significantly higher in patients with more than 3 lytic bone lesions than those with only 1-3 lytic bone lesions (46. 30 μg/L vs 31.98 μg/L, 2. 18 pmol/L vs 0. 69 pmol/L, 6.02 U/L vs 5. 13 U/L, all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions MM patients have increased serum DKK-1, sRANKL, OPG and TRACP-5b levels as compared with the healthy controls. Serum concentrations of DKK-1 and sRANKL have close relationship with MM stage and lytic bone disease.

Insulinoma (islet β-cell tumor) is one of the most common pancreatic endocrine tumors. It has a typical clinical manifestation called Whipple's triad. And so far, surgical treatment is the only curative method. But the localization diagnosis of insulinoma is difficult. Recently, with advances in diagnostic tech-niques, the localization diagnosis of insulinoma accuracy has markedly improved. This paper makes a brief overview of the progress in diagnosis and treatment of insulinoma.

Objective To study the expression of CD105 and CD31 and relationship with the biological behavior in gastric cancer tissue. Methods Immunochemical method was adopted to detect the microvessel density(MVD) of CD105 and CD31 in 63 cases of gastric cancer and 20 cases of chronic gastritis. Results The mean value of CD105-MVD and CD31-MVD were respectively 40.97?15.67 and 25.87?10.54 in gastric cancer, which was higher than those in chronic gastritis, the difference was significant (P 0.05). Conclusion CD105 was better than CD31 in staining gastric cancer tissue. Expression of CD105 was closely related to the biological behavior of gastric cancer; detection of CD105 was recommended to precisely assess tumor stage, direct cancer therapy and predict prognosis.

Object To observe the protective effects of rehmannia root extract (Reh) on mitochondrial respiratory function in hypoxia rat. Methods Rat was killed rapidly and the body was put at room temperatare for global ischemia of 15 min. Treatment of po Reh 2 and 4 g/kg was started 2 h before hypoxia. The mitochondrial respiratory parameter of myocardium, brain and kidney was measured by oxygen electrode method. The protective effect of Reh on mitochondrion was observed in 2h po. Bepridil (Bep), an Ca 2+ channel blocker, ip 5 mg/kg 30 min prior to hypoxia served as positive control. Results In myocardium and kidney, hypoxia injury was showed similar, ST 3 and RCI value was increased as compared with the control group in a dose dependent manner, showing a selective stronger protection on renal mitochondrial than that on heart and brain. Conclusion Reh is effective in protecting metochondrial respiratory function in heart, brain and kidney from hypoxia and with the most potent effect on kidney.

Objective To study cytogenetic features of multiple myeloma(MM)cells and the relationship between chromosomal karyotypes and subtype,stage,prognostic parameters and treatment of MM.Methods Karyotyping in patients with MM by 24h short-term bone marrow cell culture and G-banding stain were done.Twenty-two patients were treated with conventional chemotherapy(VAD or MP)and 7 patients with Bortezomib(velcade)chemotherapy.Results There was 37.9% of aberrations in patients with multiple myeloma of 29 cases,and the complex and high complex aberrations were 81.8%.Twenty-two patients with VAD or MP chemotherapy;response rate was 81.2% in normal karyotype group;no response was received in the abnormal karyotypes group(P

OBJECTIVE:To determine the contents of Icariin,Psoralen and Isopsoralen in Yishenling granule by HPLC. METHODS: The chromatographic separation was performed on Phenomenex luna C18 column (250 mm?4.6 mm, 5?m) with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.1% acetic acid solution (gradient elution) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The UV detection wavelength was set at 310 nm, and the column temperature was 20 ℃. RESULTS: Icariin,Psoralen and Isopsoralen in Yishenling granules were well-separated with good linearity within their respective concentration range. And the average recoveries for the three constituents were all within 99%～101% with RSD all less than 1.20%. CONCLUSION: The method is simple, feasible and reproducible, and it can be used for the quality control of Yishenling granule.

[Objective] To study the effect of family sickbed comprehensive nursing mode on patients with stroke.[Methods] 92 cases of discharged patients with cerebral apoplexy were selected between October 2010 and October 2011,and were divided into the observation group(52 cases)and the control group(40 cases).Among them,the observation group received the family sickbed comprehensive nursing intervention,which was conducted by community nurses.The control group received general discharge mode and did not accept community nursing intervention.As designed,patients were followed weekly or monthly after discharge.After three months the treatment efficacy and quality of life were assessed.[Results] After follow-up for 3 months,HAMD,NIHSS scores in the intervention group were lower than those of the control group,MMSE,FMA and BI scores were higher than those of the control group.The physical,psychological,social and environmental scorcs in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group.[Conclusions] Family sickbed comprehensive nursing of cerebral apoplexy patients during rehabilitation stage can not only save medical resources,but also facilitate to recovery of patients.
