ObjectiveTo study the multidrug resistance (MDR) produced by lung resistance protein gene (LRP) in HCC, and the relationship between LRP and prognosis of HCC patients. Methods The expression of LRP encoding LRP and mRNA lrp was examined in the cancer tissue of 54 cases of previously untreated HCC, cancer adjacent liver tissue and liver biopsy of posthepatitic cirrhosis in 12 cases. The relationship between the expression of LRP and the change of AFP level in 24 posthepatectomy HCC cases was observed after receiving postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in which the AFP had been positive. AIM: It is tested that the suppressive effects of (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG ) on the migration, invasion and RhoA expression of human lung carcinoma 95-D cells and B16BL6 melanoma cells invasion in vivo,which will possibly help to understand the molecular mechanisms by which EGCG inhibits the invasion of tumor cells. METHODS: The inhibitory effect of EGCG on the migration of 95-D cells was tested by cell migration assay. Cell invasion was analyzed by the matrigel invasion assay. Assay of tumor metastasis in an animal model, RT-PCR and Western blot analysis of expression of RhoA was also performed. RESULTS:EGCG was effective in inhibiting the migration of 95-D cells in a dose-dependent manner. EGCG dose-dependently inhibited 95-D cells invasion in vitro and 40 μmol·L-1 EGCG exhibited 79.9% inhibition and EGCG 50 mg·kg-1·d-1 for 3 weeks inhibited B16BL6 melanoma cells invasion by 71.7% in vivo. EGCG could down-regulate the expression of RhoA. CONCLUSION: EGCG strongly inhibits metastasis of 95-D cells, and the mechanism of EGCG is possible associated with the inhibition of RhoA expression.

Objective:To explore the technique procedure for comprehensive facial rhytidectomy, and to evaluate the surgical outcome.Methods:A total of 126 patient received comprehensive facial rhytidectomy were involved in this study and the outcomes were evaluated by using 14 FACE-Q scales.Results:Totally 44 patients completed the FACE-Q scales, with the follow-up of 6 to 86 months, with an average of 27.9 months. The overall satisfaction was 87.30±10.79 (mean±standard deviation), satisfaction with forehead and brow was 92.16±10.12, satisfaction with cheekbones was 93.30±6.95, satisfaction with cheek was 91.20±10.17, and satisfaction with neck was 87.16±9.65; appraisal of overall lines was 87.57±9.71, appraisal of forehead lines was 91.80±10.23, appraisal of glabella lines was 90.43±10.76, appraisal of nasolabial fold was 88.25±12.10, and appraisal of crow＇s feet was 91.52±13.66; social function scores were 88.70±9.40, psychological function scores 88.77±10.49, surgical decision satisfaction scores 90.86±9.06, and surgical outcome satisfaction scores 90.03±10.61. Self-evaluation was 8.33±3.15 years younger. There was no statistically significant difference in the scale results between the age groups of <40 years, 40-50 years, and >50 years.Conclusions:Comprehensive facial rhytidectomy is a systematic and thorough surgical solution for rejuvenation. This procedure is proved to be of high satisfactory degree in short and long-term follow-up by FACE-Q scales.

Objective To evaluate the accuracy of core needle biopsy (CNB) in diagnosing breast masses and its coherence with immunohistochemical (IHC) examination results of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and Her2 protein between pre-and post-chemotherapy in invasive breast cancer. Methods The results of 516 CNB cases from June, 2005 to April, 2008 were analyzed retrospectively. The pathological examination was performed by two pathologists independently. Results 484 cases of malignant tumor, carcinoma in situ and phyllodes tumor were found in this group with the sensitivity of 96.7%. Sixteen cases of false negative (3. 3% ) were demonstrated by surgical biopsy. The accurate rate of CNB was not influenced by the maximum diameter of masses ( P = O. 423 ). The agreement rate of IHC results of ER, PgR and Her2 between pre- and post-chemotherapy were 90. 3%, 76. 8% and 82.5%, respectively. Conclusion CNB is a useful diagnostic method with a satisfactory accuracy in any size of breast masses. Given the histological heterogeneity of invasive breast cancer and the influence of ehemotherapy, the coherence of prechemotherapy IHC for ER, PgR and Her2 is not optimal with that of post-chemotherapy.

We studied the effect of photodynamic therapy with phycobiliproteins on human liver cancer cells in vitro. With 3-(4, 5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay (MTT assay), we used two phycobiliproteins, R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) and C-phycocyanin (C-PC) prepared from Porphyra yezoensis, to determine the killing rates and apoptosis rates of human liver cancer cells (SMMC-7721) mediated by laser. When the concentration of R-PE was 120 mg/L, the survival rate of human liver cancer cells was 27% after treated by Argon laser with 100 J/cm2 doses, while the survival rate in the control group (without adding R-PE) was 65%. When the C-PC concentration was 120 mg/L, the survival cell rate was 47% after treated by He-Ne laser with 35 J/cm2 dose, while the survival rate in the control group (without adding C-PC) was 70%. After handled only with these two kinds of phycobiliproteins for 72 h, the growth of cancer cells presented significant inhibition. The maximal inhibition rates reached up to 31% with R-PE (120 mg/L concentration) and 27% with C-PC (250 mg/L concentration) respectively. After irradiated by laser for 8 h, the maximal cell apoptosis rates were 31.54% with R-PE and 32.54% with C-PC, respectively. It indicated that R-PE and C-PC extracted from Porphyra yezoensis could develop to new photosensitizers for cancer photodynamic therapy.

Objective Aggressive fibromatosis is a rare kind of soft tissue tumor and was evaluated by few large studies. This study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics and identify the prognostic factors of this disease. Methods One hundred and forty-two patients with aggressive fibromatosis treated from January 1983 to August 2009 in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital were retrospectively reviewed.The prognostic value of clinical and treatment factors was analyzed. Univariate analysis was performed with Log-rank test and Multivariate analysis was performed with Cox regression model. Results The follow-up rate is 93.7% and the median follow up time was 54 months (range,6 -208 months). Sixty-three patients had a minimum follow up time of 5 years and 6 patients had a minimum follow up time of 10 years. The male/female ratio was 1/1.84. The disease was most popular in women aged from 18 to 35 years old. The disease frequently occurred in the trunk (55.6%) and extremity (31.7%). All patients received surgery,and 46 received radiotherapy. The 5-year and 10-year local recurrence rates were 24. 4% and 31.1%,respectively. The 5-year and 10-year overall survival rates were both 99. 3%. Univariate analysis revealed that factors correlated with local recurrence were tumor size ( χ2 = 4. 37, P = 0. 037 ) and margin status (χ2 = 12. 36,P =0. 002). Multivariate analysis revealed that margin status was an independent risk factor (RR = 2. 219; χ2 = 9. 47,P = 0. 002) and radiotherapy was an independent protective factor ( RR = 0. 360;χ2 = 4. 95, P = 0. 026 ) for disease recurrence. When radiotherapy was delivered, the 10-year local recurrence rate decreased from 70. 1% to 20. 7% in patients with positive margin ( χ2 = 4. 22, P = 0. 040 )and decreased from 19.8% to 10.4% (χ2= 0.90, P= 0.344) in patients with negative margin.Conclusions Radical resection is the mainstay of treatment for aggressive fibromatosis. Postoperative radiotherapy can reduce the recurrent rate for patients with positive margin. In patients with negative margin,the role of radiotherapy should to be further evaluated in large clinical trials.

Objective To obtain the matched parameters between image quality and radiation dose by exploring the influence of the exposure parameters of screening mammography on both the image quality and radiation dose.Methods The correlation between the exposure parameters and average glandular doses to 507 patients undergoing screening mammography were retrospectively analyzed.The influence of breast compression thickness on radiation dose by exposing different thickness of PMMA was obtained.The correlation with image quality was analyzed by combined testing of contrast detail test mode ( CDMAM3.4 )and different thickness of PMMAs.Results The groups aged 30 to 49 years were the main groups in 507examined patients,up to 67.06％ of the total.The mean value of average gland doses ( AGD ) in contrastprior mode was the highest in three kinds of exposure modes,accounting for 137.5％ of standard mode.In standard mode,target material/filtration board combination was Mo/Mo,Mo/Rh and Rh/Rh,accounting for 1/3 respectively.Mo/Rh and Rh/Rh were selected in dose-prior mode,accounting for 50％ respectively.Mo/Mo was mainly selected in contrast-prior,accounting for 52％.Breast compression thickness was positively correlated with average gland doses.Image quality figure inverse (IQFinv) under three kinds of modes (STD,DOSE,CNT) was 98.32,95.41 and 107.02,respectively,and IQFinv of contrast-prior mode was the highest among them.IQFinv was in general agreement in the three kinds of exposure modes when the thickness of PMMA plates plates was greater than or equal to 5 cm.Conclusions In clinical practice,when the breast is of density type and pressed thickness is less than 4 em,the dose-prior mode should be selected.When the pressed thickness is between 4 and 6 cm,the standard exposure mode should be selected.When the pressed thickness is larger than 6 cm,the manual mode should be selected.

Objective To compare the accuracy and clinical effect between X-ray stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsy (SVAB) and metal wire guided lumpectony.Methods From January 2010 to June 2014,681 cases of breast micro-calcification biopsy were performed.Among them,78 cases were performed with SVAB and 603 eases were performed with the method of stereotaetic metal wire guided lumpectomy.All cases were non-palpable breast lesions (NPBLs) and breast imaging-reporting and data system (BI-RADS) assessment categories 4.The diagnostic accuracy and clinical effect were compared.Results The sensitivity of both methods was 100 ％ with no misdiagnosis.The underestimation rate of SVAB was 12.5 ％.Compared with the method of metal wire guided lumpectomy,SVAB had many advantages,such as easy to use,quickly performed,low rate of local deformation and lower rate of operative complications.77.5 ％ patients benefited from SVAB by avoiding open surgery of benign disease.Conclusions SVAB is an accurate,safe and convenient method of biopsy.It can be recommended as the preferred method of micro-calcification (BI-RADS 4).Additional operation should be performed on patients with the pathological diagnosis of middle and high grade of dysplasia and any kind of carcinoma.
