1.Medical image processing based on wavelet characteristics and edge blur detection.

To solve the problems of noise interference and edge signal weakness for the existing medical image, we used two-dimensional wavelet transform to process medical images. Combined the directivity of the image edges and the correlation of the wavelet coefficients, we proposed a medical image processing algorithm based on wavelet characteristics and edge blur detection. This algorithm improved noise reduction capabilities and the edge effect due to wavelet transformation and edge blur detection. The experimental results showed that directional correlation improved edge based on wavelet transform fuzzy algorithm could effectively reduce the noise signal in the medical image and save the image edge signal. It has the advantage of the high-definition and de-noising ability.

2.Association of peripheral white blood cell count with carotid intimal-medial thickness in middle-aged and elderly Chinese of suburban area of Shanghai

Objective To investigate the association between peripheral white blood cell (WBC) count and the carotid intimal-medial thickness (cIMT) in middle-aged and elderly Chinese of suburban area of Shanghai.Methods A total of 2 519 subjects aged 40 years or older from Jiading District,Shanghai were recruited to undergo questionnaire interview,anthropometric measurements,fasting blood sampling,and carotid B-mode ultrasonography.After excluding subjects with biochemical index missing,WBC count > 10× 109/L as well as those with known myocardial infarction,cerebral infarction,coronary heart disease,and those taking lipid-lowing agents,2 239subjects were included in this analysis.Results Increased WBC count was associated with more unfavorable metabolic risk profiles.With the increasing quartiles of WBC count,cIMT were 0.558,0.570,0.573,and 0.587mm respectively(P for trend < 0.01).As compared with participants in the first WBC quartile,the risks of cIMT thickening were increased by 79%,109% in males and 29% in females (P> 0.05 in females).Multiple linear regression model showed that peripheral WBC count was an independent risk marker for cIMT thickening,especially for neutrophil and monocyte count.Conclusion A high-normal WBC count was significantly associated with cIMT thickening in middle-aged and elderly Chinese of suburban area of Shanghai,especially in males.
3.Efficacy comparison of immediate breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery and modified radical mastectomy

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and cosmetic outcome of two methods of immediate breast reconstruction and modified radical mastectomy for the patients with breast cancer after breast cancer surgery. Methods The clinical data of 95 patients with early breast cancer in the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University from October 2014 to September 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into latissimus dorsi combined with implants group (27 cases), titanium-coated polypropylene mesh combined with implants group (18 cases) and modified radical group (50 cases). The differences of surgical data, postoperative complications and quality of life were compared in the three groups. The postoperative cosmetic effect of two immediate reconstruction groups was observed. Results The differences of drainage duration and intraoperative blood loss in the three groups were not statistically significant (both P > 0.05). There were statistical differences in the hospital stay and the postoperative quality of life score (both P < 0.01). The incidence of postoperative complications in latissimus dorsi combined with implants group, the titanium-coated polypropylene mesh combined with implants group and the modified radical group was 48.1% (13/27), 22.2% (4/18) and 12.0% (6/50), respectively. And the difference between latissimus dorsi combined with implants group and the modified radical surgery group was statistically significant (χ 2 = 12.33, P < 0.01). The good rate of cosmetic effect in titanium-coated polypropylene mesh group was higher than that in latissimus dorsi combined with implants group, and there was no statistically significant difference [83.3% (15/18) vs. 81.5% (22/27), χ 2 = 0.025, P > 0.05]. Conclusions Immediate breast reconstruction including latissimus dorsi combined with implants or titanium-coated polypropylene mesh combined with implants after radical mastectomy on the basis of indications can improve the quality of life and the cosmetic results of patients, but postoperative treatment is necessary for the increased complications after the two reconstruction methods.
4.Expression of hsa_circ_0128298 in hepatocellular carcinoma and its functional roles in tumor growth

Objective:
To investigate the expression of circular RNA hsa_circ_0128298 in hepatocellular harcinoma (HCC) and evaluate its function in the growth process of HCC.
Methods:
qPCR was used to detect the expressions of hsa_circ_0128298 in 50 HCC tissues, corresponding paracancerous tissues and HCC cells. The effects of hsa_circ_0128298 on HCC growth was analyzed by CCK-8 kit, flow cytometry and western blot assays. The values of hsa_circ_0128298 for the diagnosis and prognosis of HCC were assessed by ROC curve and survival curve analyses.
Results:
Compared with the paracancerous tissues, the expression of hsa_circ_0128298 was significantly increased in HCC tissues ( U =846.0, P =0.005). The area under ROC curve (AUCROC) was 0.661, 95% confidence interval ( CI ) was 0.560 to 0.753, sensitivity was 80.0% and specificity was 50.0%. HCC patients with high expression of hsa_circ_0128298 displayed less overall survival time than those with low expression of hsa_circ_0128298 ( χ 2=6.294, P =0.012). RNA interference of hsa_circ_0128298 (si-hsa_circ_0128298) significantly inhibited HCC cell proliferation and induced cell cycle arrest at G0/G1, and also induced mRNA upregulation and protein expression of cyclin p21. Meanwhile,si-p21 partially reversed the proliferation inhibition and cell cycle arrest of HCC cells induced by si-hsa_circ_0128298, and restore its growth and proliferation potential.
Conclusion
The highly expressed hsa_circ_0128298 in HCC could promote the growth of HCC by regulating the expression of p21 and promise to be a new target for diagnosis and treatment of HCC.
