Acta Anatomica Sinica 1959;0(Z1):-
The writer observed the sural anastomotic nerve on 276 lower limbs from 138 corpses, including 11 adults and 127 new-borns (84 male, 54 females). It was found that sural anastomotic nerves are present in 219 cases (79.3%) and absent in 57 cases(20.7%). The ways of anastomosis of these nerves fall into the following four types: (1) Type A: The sural anastomotic and lateral sural cutaneous branches arise from peroneal nerve with a common trunk—108 cases (49.7%). (2) Type B: The sural anastomotic nerve is one of the terminal branches of thelateral sural cutaneous nerve—48 cases (21.9%). (3) Type C: The lateral sural cutaneous nerve arises from sural anastomoticnerve—35 cases (16%). (4) Type D: The lateral sural cutaneous and sural anastomotic branches arise separately from the common peroneal nerve—28 cases (12.8%).

Objective: To investigate the effects of lycopene on T lymphocyte subpopulations and pulmonary alveolar macrophagic (PAM) functions in rats with acute lung injury (ALI). Methods: Rats were randomly divided into the following groups. (1) Control group, (2) ALI model group, (3) Low dose group, (4) Mid dose group and (5) High dose group. Control group and ALI model group were treated with solvent of lycopene, and the other groups were gastrically incubated with lycopene. Thirty-five days later, control group were given physiological saline, ALI model group and lycopene administrated groups were injected with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (6.0 mg/kg) to induce ALI. One hour, four hours or six hours after LPS or physiological saline challenged, abdominal aorta blood for measuring lymphocyte subpopulations and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid for measuring function of PAM were gathered respectively. Results: (1) At h 1, the percentages of CD3+,CD4+ and CD8+ of lycopene administrated groups compared with control group were not significantly different. At h 4, the percentage of CD4+ was similar to that at h 1. As for the percentages of CD3+, except high dose group [(28.8?9.9)%] was significantly lower, low dose, mid dose and ALI model group showed no significant difference compared with control group[(39.5?4.5)%]. The percentages of CD8+ of ALI model and lycopene administrated rats, separately (10.2?3.9)%,(10.3?2.8)%,(9.8?2.8)%,(10.1?3.5)%, had been significantly reduced compared with control group[(15.1?2.5)%]; between ALI model and lycopene ad-ministrated groups there was no significant difference. The instance at h 6 was the same as that at h 4. The percentage ratios of CD4+ T-lymphocyte to CD8+ T-lymphocyte of ALI model rats were not significantly different compared with control group or lycopene administrated groups at h 1 and h 6. At h 4, the ratio of the CD4 + and CD8 + in Low dose and Mid dose groups had significant difference and ALI model, high dose hadn’t when they were compared with control group. (2) Lycopene increased the phagocytic function of PAMs significantly at h 1(P

Objective:To investigate the effect of Cyr61 on the proliferation of Fibroblast-like Synoviocytes (FLS) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods:Cyr61 expression in synovial tissues (ST) and FLS was examined using Real-time PCR,Western blot and immunohistochemistry simultaneously.FLS were isolated from synovial tissue of RA patients and cultured in vitro. The proliferation of FLS stimulated with synovial fluid (SF) was determined by 3 H-TdR incorporation.Cyr61 protein level in RA SF was detected by ELISA.Results:Cyr61 was over expressed in ST,FLS of RA patients while hardly examined in normal individuals and osterarthritis (OA) patients.Meanwhile,Cyr61 protein level was elevated in SF,which promoted the proliferation of RA FLS.This proliferation was abrogated by knockdown the Cyr61 gene of FLS or neutralizing monoclonal antibody against human Cyr61.Moreover,inflammatory factor IFN-γ and TNF-α up-regulated the expression of Cyr61.Conclusion:These results indicate that the elevated level of IFN-γ and TNF-α in RA SF can promote the proliferation of the FLS derived from RA patients by increasing expression of Cyr61,suggesting that Cyr61 may play an important role in the development of RA.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of carnosine on radiation-induced lung injury in mice. Methods A total of 108 C57/BL female mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group without treatment, irradiation alone group, irradiation + carnosine group (15 mg·kg-1·d-1),and carnosine alone group (15 mg· kg-1· d-1).There were 18 mice in control group and 30 mice in every other group.Whole lung anterior chest was irradiated with a single dose of 13 Gy 10 MV X-rays.The mice were administered with carnosine (15 mg· kg-1· d-1) at 30 minutes before irradiation and then garaged once a day until the end of the experiment. The control group was given with saline. At 7,28,and 56 d after irradiation,6 mice of control group and 10 mice of each other group were killed.A portion of lung tissues were stained with HE and other part of lung tissues were used to detect the levels of SOD.Meanwhile,TGF-β1 and TNF-α in the serum were detected with ELISA.Results Different levels of inflammation factors were expressed in the lung tissues of irradiation group and irradiation + carnosine group at 56 d after irradiation, but the inflammation in the irradiation + carnosine group was significantly lighter than that in the irradiation group.Among (7,28 and 56 d) after radiation,TGF-β1,TNF-α,and SOD levels in different groups had significant differences. At the same time point after irradiation, the level of SOD in lung tissue of irradiation + carnosine group was significantly higher than that of irradiation group (F =4.33,4.19,3.34,P <0.05),but the levels of TGF-β1 and TNF-α in serum were reduced. Conclusions Carnosine can prevent and inhibit radiation-induced lung injury in mice by increasing SOD and reducing TGF-β1 and TNF-α.

Objective To explore the mechanism of down-regulation of regulatory T cells (Treg) by immunization with attenuated activated autologous T cells. Methods Aulologous T cells were activated with ConA in vitro. Mice were immunized subcutaneously and inlraperitoneally every 5 days for 3 times (5 ×10~6 per time for each mouse), and the number and function of Treg were examined. PBS was subcutaneously injected for control group. Serum level of anti-mouse CD25 antibody was measured by ELISA. The number and function of Treg was detected by serum adoptive transfer and proliferation and inhibition assays. Results Compared with control group, there were less CD4~+ CD25~+ Foxp3~+ Treg in the mice after immunization (P < 0. 01), the immunosuppression ability decreased (P<0. 01), and the level of anti-CD25 antibody increased (P <0.01). Adoptive transfer of serum from immunized mice to naive mice led to a significant decrease in Treg population and function in recipient mice (P<0. 01). Conclusion Immunization with attenuated activated autologous T cells induces more anti-CD25 antibody, which may further down-regulate CD4~+CD25~+Foxp3~+ Treg expansion and function in vivo.
