Aim To observe the effects of Ginsenoside on left ventricular remodeling after pressure-overload hypertrophy in rats. Methods After stenosis of the ascending aortic artery,20 survived female Wistar rats were randomly assigned to two groups:hypertrophy control(n=10)and Ginsenoside(100 mg?kg?d-1,n=10);sham operated rats(n=10)were selected randomly as nonstenosis control.Four weeks after the operation, the LVPW,IVS and LVDD of each rat were detected by echocardiogram.Myocardial cell and interstitial tissue were observed by immunofluorescence double staining. Results Compared with those in hypertrophy group, the LVPW and IVS in Ginsenoside group were all significantly decreased(P

A discussion of the connotation and key issues of the new normal in the healthcare sector, with an introduction to the new normal. The furthering reform is unveiling roadblocks in the healthcare system. For example, human resources available can hardly support development of the sector, and revenue growth of tertiary hospitals in the cities will decline, while county hospitals will be further challenged by debt crisis. In the meantime of steady elevation of medical capabilities in both urban and rural areas, the gap between the two will be maintained for a while. The authors predict that the sector will be faced with restructuring essential medicine system, grading diagnosis and treatment practice, rising risks for health insurance, and growing market shares of commercial health insurance and private capital, as well as fiercer competitions to challenge public hospitals.

Objective To investigate the pathogenesis of age-related cortex and nuclear cataract. Methods The levels of transforming growth factor-?_2 (TGF-?_2)mRNA,proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA),ratio of Bcl-2/Bax,fibronection (FN),vimentin and the density of lens epithelial cells (LECs) were measured and compared among age-related nuclear cataract, cortex cataract and normal LECs.Results The ratio of TGF-?_2 mRNA expression/?-actin expression, the levels of PCNA protein,Bax and Bcl-2 in age-related nuclear cataract(0.16?0.02,16.01,15.97, 16.97)and in cortex cataract (0.27?0.01,1.98,16.93,1.44) were significantly different from those in normal LECs(0.15+0.02,2.43,16.84,6.12),all P

BACKGROUND: Necrosis of femoral head induced by hormone is the iatrogenic disorder. It is doubt whether such problem is improved or not by increasing blood-flow volume in the local necrosis tissues.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of electric acupuncture on blood-flow volume in local tissues of femoral head so as to understand the mechanism of acupuncture on hormonal necrosis of femoral head.DESIGN: Randomized controlled study in which the experimental animals were taken as the objects.SETTING: Department of integrated traditional chinese and western medicine in a college of traditional chinese medicine.MATERIALS: The experiment was performed from May 2002 to June 2003in Animal Experimental Room of Clinical Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine affiliated to Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Thirty female and male(half-half) New Zealand white rabbits were employed, in clean grade, which were randomized into blank control, model group and treatment of electric acupuncture group.METHODS: The model of hormonal necrosis of femoral head in rabbits was prepared. In the treatment group, PCE-88A type controlled electric acupuncture apparatus developed by Institute of Acupuncture and Meridians and Collaterials in Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was applied on Huantiao(GB 30) and Biguan(ST 31) . No any treatment was applied in the model and blank groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEAURES: The curve of blood-flow volume in local necrosis tissues at the moment of acupuncture and 2 weeks after treatment.RESULTS: The blood-flow volume in local necrosis tissues at the moment of acupuncture in the treatment group(0.50 ±0.08) mL/g per minute was reduced significantly compared with that of blank control group[(8.63± 0. 83) mL/g per minute] and the model group[ (4.30 ±0. 89) mL/g per minute], indicating significant difference ( P < 0.01). The blood-flow volume in local necrosis tissues 2 weeks after treatment[ (6. 19 ± 0.61) mL/g per minute] was remarkably increased compared with the blank control [ (8.33 ± 0.65) mL/g per minute] and the model group[ (4.44 ± 0. 72) mL/g per minute], indicating significant difference( P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Electric acupuncture can improve local blood supply in hormonal necrosis of femoral head immediately, which is probably related to the regulation in the net of nerve-endocrine-immunity.

Objective To study the molecular mechanism of the remission in children with acute lymphocyte leukemia(ALL),as well as the expression of thyroid hormone receptor interacting protein 3(TRIP3) gene in children with ALL and explore the relationship between TRIP3 and ALL.Methods Fasting venous blood 2-4 mL was collected, anticoagulanted with ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA),then perpheral blood mononuclear cells was collected by Ficoll density gradient centrifugation, total RNA was extracted by Trizol one step method.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to detect TRIP3 expression in peripheral blood lymphocytes in 73 ALL children of different stages and 20 normal children. The relationship between TRIR3 expression in children and ALL release was analyzed. Results 1.Expression of TRIP3 was significantly lower both after initial treatment and during recrudescence than that in normal children(Pa0.05).3.In children with ALL after initial treatment, the remission rate was significantly higher in TRIP3 positive patients than in TRIP3 negative ones(remission rate discern 25.0% vs 84.2%,P
