Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of bicyelol tablets in treatment of hepatitis B patients infected with YMDD mutation of HBV. Methods Sixty-eight chronic hepatitis patients infected with HBV YMDD mutants and 100 patients with non-mutants HBV were enrolled in the study. All patients received bicyclol tablets orally 150 mg/d, t. i. d, for 24 weeks. Clinical symptoms, signs and adverse effects were observed, and the blood routine, liver function tests, serum HBV markers and HBV DNA loads were examined at 12th and 24th week of the study, Results After treatment for 24 weeks, the normalization rates of ALT and AST in mutant group were 79.4% ( 54/68 ) and 70. 6% (48/68) ; 11 ( 16. 2% ) patients were markedly effective and 14 (20. 6% ) were effective. Clearance rates of HBeAg and HBV DNA were 27.9% ( 17/61 ) and 17.6% ( 12/68 ), while the seroconversion rate of HBeAg was 14. 7% (9/61). The differences of the above indexes were not statistically significant between mutant group and non-mutant group. Conclusion Bicyciol can both protect liver functions and inhibit virus replication in patients infected with HBV YMDD mutants.

BACKGROUND:Studies demonstrated that, the probability of middle and distal end of femur bone fatigue or fracture reaches maximum when the moving loads increase or under an impact load.OBJECTIVE:To analyze the stress-strain distribution, principle stress vectors and displacements of femur during gait.METHODS:The contour curves of femur and muscles attached to femur were extracted slice by slice based on the serial CT data from a healthy male volunteer, which were used to build musculoskeletal system models. And the straight-line muscle models of the lower extremities were constructed to evaluate muscles forces and joints forces by using a multi-objective optimization method based on gait analysis. The finite element models of femur during gait were built by taking muscle forces and joint forces as boundary conditions in ANSYS 10.0 to obtain the stress-strain distribution and displacements.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The maximal displacement occurred on the femur head, and the maximal stress occurred in the middle and distal end of femur during the whole gait. There exists bigger tensile stress in the location of the femur neck and middle and distal end of corpus ossis femoris. The result validates the fact that femur fracture often happens at the middle and below of femur stem from the viewpoint of biomechanics.

To contrast the methodology of measuring cup placement precision utilizing Mimics and Matlab programming, based on clinical CT images of primary THA cases with computer assisted navigated surgery (CANS) and with the traditional manual method (MANS). The method was applied and analyzed to measure cup anteversion, cup abduction of 50 clinical cases with CANS and MANSThe results show that, cup placement precision differences exits between primary THA cases with CANS and MANS; more cases with CANS are within the safe zone contrasting MANS, and there was less variation and less placement error in CANS cases. CANS can improve cup placement precision and reduce the chance of dislocation efficiently.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2008;25(3):552-555
This paper is aimed to construct a 3D model of arterial vessels system of digital rat. Firstly, the special injection medium was perfused into the arterial blood vessels of Sprague-Dawley rat; the quality of perfusion through the digital radiography system was evaluated at the same time. Then we used the sectional anatomy imaging system and achieved the digital rat atlas of sectional anatomy (sectional anatomy images were captured at 100 microm intervals, with the resolution of 4,917 x 3,446 x 24 bit and in a total of 1,464 slices). Finally, the 3D model of arterial vessels system of digital rat was constructed by segmentation, and the visualization programs were developed on Visual C+ + and Visualization ToolKit (VTK). By use of this model, the 3D microstructure of arterial system of digital rat can be obtained accurately. Remarkably, it will benefit the study of the blood vessels system on laboratory rat.

Sepsis is characterized by a severe and life-threatening host immune response to polymicrobial infection accompanied by organ dysfunction.Studies on the therapeutic effect and mechanism of immunomod-ulatory drugs on the sepsis-induced hyperinflammatory or immunosuppression states of various im-mune cells remain limited. This study aimed to investigate the protective effects and underlying mechanism of artesunate(ART)on the splenic microenvironment of cecal ligation and puncture-induced sepsis model mice using single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)and experimental validations. The scRNA-seq analysis revealed that ART inhibited the activation of pro-inflammatory macrophages recruited during sepsis.ART could restore neutrophils'chemotaxis and immune function in the septic spleen. It inhibited the activation of T regulatory cells but promoted the cytotoxic function of natural killer cells during sepsis.ART also promoted the differentiation and activity of splenic B cells in mice with sepsis. These results indicated that ART could alleviate the inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive states of various immune cells involved in sepsis to balance the immune homeostasis within the host.Overall, this study provided a comprehensive investigation of the regulatory effect of ART on the splenic microenvironment in sepsis, thus contributing to the application of ART as adjunctive therapy for the clinical treatment of sepsis.
