2.Fill up to the group of antineoplastic mushrooms in Vietnam a very rare species: Agaricus blazei Murrill
Pharmaceutical Journal 1998;272(12):12-14
The squamule button mushroom Agaricus blazei Murrill was fruifully cultivated in Da Lat, VietNam, under similar procedure at large scales with white button mushroom A. bisporus, giving lower biological efficiency (biomass of fresh fruibodies harvested per unit of dry composts used). The prefectful development of fruibodies was described and a minireview on their medicine - food value was discussed

3.Field mushroom of Cao Bang province - A special taxon of the branch Lentinula Pegler
Pharmaceutical Journal 2000;269(12):6-9
A minireview on current status in systematics of the genus Lentinula Pegler was presented addition of distinct collection of Cao Bang stain of shiitake from Vietnam, that were described as a new geographical race with morphologically specific characters intermediating between L. edodes and L. lateritia. Furthermore, non fertile hybrids (basidiosporeless lines) obtained by nonospore-crossing between Cao Bang strain and strains of l. edodes from Japan support so distinct differentiations, that Cao Bang shiitake would be suggested even at the rank of biologically distinct species

4.The mushroom Pleurotus pulmonarius in Vietnam
Pharmaceutical Journal 1998;272(12):10-12
For the first time, the natural specimens of Abalone Oyster mushroom Pleurotus pulmonarius (Fr.) Quel. were collected and comparatively identified in Central Highland, South Vietnam. Pure isolation and fruitful cultivation of this mushroom were conducted for preservation of fungal gene resources and supply of precious foods and pharmaceutical material

Journal of University of Malaya Medical Centre 2014;17(2):1-8
The plants of the genus Phyllanthus (Euphorbiaceae) are distributed in most tropical and subtropical regions
of world. This plant has been long used as a traditional medicine to treat problems such as stomach, intestinal
infections, kidney and urinary bladder disturbances, diabetes, and hepatitis B. There has been considerable
interest in these plants in recent years. This review discusses the antiviral and anticancer aspects of Phyllanthus
species. Scientific studies have demonstrated that extracts and purified isolated compounds (flavonoids,
lignans, phenols, and terpenes) obtained from these plants possess antiviral effects against herpes simplex
(HSV) and dengue virus infections (DENV). These observations are associated with the disruption of essential
proteins needed during viral cycle, thus halting the viral replication. In addition, the Phyllanthus species have
also been shown to exert inhibitory effects against selected cancers types. In these studies anti-proliferative,
anti-metastatic, anti-angiogenic effects and induced apoptosis of human cancers cell lines were observed.
These may be explained by the disruption of multiple survival pathways and differential protein expression.
CONLCUSION:As a conclusion, tThe Phyllanthus plant possesses multiple medicinal properties, including
antiviral and anticancer activities which may potentially be used as a medicinal source for many disease locally.

Aims:
The attention for new and effective anticancer drugs but less toxic is increasing over time. Streptomyces is the
most important and well-known source of their bioactive compound production with useful bioactivities. This work aimed
for evaluation of the anticancer potential of methanolic extract of Streptomyces sp. strain KSF 83 against non-cancerous
cell lines (CCD-841-CoN), breast (MCF-7, MDA-MB-231) and colon cancer cell lines (HT-29, HCT-116).
Methodology and results:
The characteristic of the strain KSF 83 was identified by morphology and 16S rRNA
sequencing and results confirmed that the strain belonged to the genus of Streptomyces. The crude substance was
produced via submerged fermentation from the strain and methanol solvent was used to extract the culture filtrate.
Methanolic extract possessed low toxicity against CCD-841-CoN with only 18% of inhibition activity at the 400 µg/mL.
Among all tested cancer cells, the methanolic extract was able to inhibit the growth of all cancer cells tested with MCF-7
was the highest anticancer activity recorded. The methanolic extract also exhibited cytotoxicity in a range of EC50 of
65.79 μg/mL to 262.40 μg/mL. This study revealed the anticancer potential of Streptomyces sp. strain KSF 83, which
could be sources of prospective anticancer drugs against breast and colon cancer.
Conclusion, significance and impact of study
The extract of KSF 83 was non-toxic toward normal cell lines and able
to inhibit the growth of breast and cancer cell lines, thus it can be a potential source of the anticancer drug against
breast and colon cancer.
