Cap polyposis is a rare disorder with characteristic endoscopic and histological features; its etiology is still unknown, and no specific treatment has been established. We report a case of cap polyposis that improved remarkably after infliximab infusion and had no recurrence for 3 years.

8.The role of monoclonal antibodies (Omalizumab) in the treatment of asthma
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):16-19
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is important in pathogenesis of allergic asthma reaction. Thus, inhibiting the combination of IgE and receptors in the membrane of mastocytes and other effective cells is able to reduce the body responses with allergens and decrease symptoms of asthma attacks. Monoclonal antibodies (Omalizumab) are effective in inhibiting the combination of IgE and receptors. The use of monoclonal antibodies in asthma treatment opened a new strategy, and confirmed the important roles of immunoglobulins in pathogenesis of asthma
